This is an absolutely fabulous trail! The end gets really steep with a lot of loose gravel and dirty. It can be slipper and difficult for some. My word of advice would be to go as early as possible - they only let a number of people into the park at a time and the canyon can get extremely congested as it can be only a foot or so wide at points

The waterfall was beautiful. I couldn’t find away down that was safe for my dog but other than that it was an amazing hike

So much fun for all ages!

This is a must do hike. Great slot canyon and hike to the peak to over look the tent rock canyon and surrounding vista.

Amazing! My favorite place in New Maxico. Be sure to arrive earlier, as the staff began to clear the trail before 4pm. I think it's too early. They should give visitors more time to experience this great spot.

Trail Is Still Closed At This Time. The Historic Columbia River Highway is Closed Until Further Notice. This Includes Trails Between Bridal Veil Falls and Multnomah, and Trails Between Multnomah and Ainsworth State Park. The Road Is Only Open To State Troopers, Game and WildLife Patrolmen, and Residents That Live On That Road. Anyone Caught Trying To Hike Said Trails Are Fined. This Is All Due To The Bad Fire They Had Last Year And Several Told Me They Aren't Sure When It Should Be Open. One Trooper Told Me It's Looking Like It Will Be June 2019. :( That Means Oneonta George, Oneonta Falls, Horsetail Falls, Ponytail Falls, Larch Mountain Overlook, Fairy Falls, & Wahkeena Falls Are All Closed Until Further Notice. If You Are Looking For Alternatives, You Can Look Into Multnomah Falls & Trails, Latourell Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Vista House. You Can Also Take A Drive To Ramona Falls.

I can't offer a review but a heads up. they won't let you pass the gate after 300 330. Shorthanded and closing early

We loved this hike and did both the slot canyon trail and the cave trail. We arrived just after 8 a.m. on a Friday and had no trouble parking. There weren't many people on the hike up, and it was easy navigating the narrow passages. Quite a bit of scrambling up rocks for the last 15 minutes or so, which definitely required some effort. Slippery going down that same section. Beautiful scenery throughout the hike and at the top. $5 cash to enter. Portable toilets on site. Take water and snacks. Total time was about 2.5 hours for both trails. So glad we went early!

From the tight canyons to the top. Some tough spots. As everyone says “go early”.

Beautifully interesting scenery along the way made this hike amazing. We did it in October and the skies were gorgeous blue and the weather was warm, not hot or humid. Would definitely do this hike again. We got great photos along the way!

Is the trail open ? I see a lot of recent reviews. We fly into Portland the 13th next month and this is number 1 on our list.

Beautiful views from the top and your rewarded with a cool breeze through the slot canyon on your way back down. High traffic but worth it..

LOVED IT

This was spectacular. We arrived early and were glad we did. Got amazing photos and a great workout as well. Met lots of interesting people along the way as the traffic picked up considerable by 10:00. Would defiantly do this again. Took us about 2 hours. Take lots of water with you.

Soda Rock was a nice place, the sign was hard to see. Don’t go during monsoon season, because the current was so forceful I couldn’t get in.

Very unique sight, all around a great hike. Highly trafficked but I met some nice folks along the way.
Just be aware of the heat and elevation; bring plenty of water and pace yourself accordingly. Very much worth going all the way to the top!

What an amazing view. It’s quite a steep hike, especially if you aren’t adjusted to the altitude. Go early to avoid crowds and sun.

heavily traveled. You meet many wonderful people are very helpful

The trail is closed as the logs and rocks have blocked access for walking, this is what we were told when asked at visitor center in Multnomah Falls. We didn't go any further to check but trusted that old guy.

My absolute favorite hike in the Gorge. Because of the easy access its nearly always obnoxiously crowded, but if you get there early (7-8am) you can usually get in to the waterfall before the hoards arrive. The log jam to start makes me feel like a kid again, clambering over obstacles and scooting up rocks on my butt. You will get wet on this hike, I recommend water shoes (not beach water shoes but hiking sandals, Keens or similar) as the entire gorge floor is rock covered.
Absolutely stunning if you can get there before the crowds.

Right off the road. Better than expected.

Fun hike, good for kids, get their early so you can enjoy it. Gets crowded in the afternoon.

Nice down then back up trail, but despite the pleasant scenery, the springs are not worth the trip at all. Gray water and warnings of biological hazards before you leave the parking lot.

Is this open now?? I see some reviews recently, indicating that this is now open. I will be there week of July 4th. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing, the water can get pretty high and difficult to trek through but overall a spectacular experience
