We parked at the Smoke and Davey Trailhead and took the Neale Trail. So great. Somewhat challenging, very cobwebby at 8 am but found a good stick to help with that. Very well maintained and pretty views everywhere. When the trail crossed the cement path that ran down the center of the trail system we occasionally saw another person but aside from that no other people once we were in the woods. Great views of the lake.

Great little hike. The beginning was a little boring but the falls were a spectacle to see. Also the cave was a little creepy as it was getting dark later in the evening.

Round trip: 3miles
Elevation gain: 846ft
Time: 1hr 5min

Really nice hike for Kansas. Some pretty views of the lake. The small "canyon" portion of the hike is very pretty as well.

This trail is awesome, and not just for the area. It has enough challenging elements to keep it from being boring. The trail crosses a main road, if you want to skip the really challenging parts then just turn around there. If you are looking for an adventure cross the road and party on. I have athletic dogs built for trails and they had a blast. Wouldn't recommend older dogs or dogs that can't jump anymore to do the highest point of the trail across the road. We had to go off leash to naviagte some parts safely so a definite no if your dog has poor recall or has not been trained in recall.

Very easy hike and lots of cool things to see, you have to go into the cave at the very end!

The trail was really challenging for us as we are beginners but was worth it.

This is my favorite thing to do when I am in the area visiting. I could spend hours strolling along, camera in hand, enjoying God's creation in all its glory (and I have)...

We LOVED this trail! My 11yr old son and I did this hike on a Monday and it wasn't crowded at all. This trail has so much to explore along the way. The natural bridge, large rock shelter, waterfall (just a trickle currently), and the cave were all fun. I had read reviews previously so we came prepared to explore the cave with headlamps and flashlights. Explored far enough back that we were very cramped and then squeezed into a little tunnel where we could stand up that led back out. There was also a very large "room" just to the left when you enter the cave. As others mentioned, the rocks around and in the cave are slick so be cautious. Overall, a very cool trail and one that I would love to do again if I'm back in the area. I think we spent about an hour and a half doing the whole trail.

Beautiful country but not a very long trail. Nice moderate walk.

Some great technical areas for all difficulty levels. Awesome place close to town to get out and enjoy some nature!

I got to the trail head around 6:30 pm. Knowing sunset was at 8:30, I was bit nervous about finishing in time. The sign at the trailhead suggested that the hike would take about 3 hours. It took me a third of the time. I walked at a pretty brisk pace and didn’t stop to swim. I ended up finishing up in about an hour. The terrain is easy with a few rolling hills. The surface of the majority of the trail is mowed grass. Easy to walk on, and I even walked barefoot for some of it. The rock formations are really quite lovely. There were a couple boats parked there with people swimming and jumping from the rocks. I saw a couple lizard and a large variety of plants. As many have mentioned, it is Kansas Prairie and there is no shade, I did the hike late enough in the day that this was not an issue.

We love this trail. Even with the river beds dry later in the summer it is still a lot of fun to hike and climb the rocks. The cave was awesome! Bring a flashlight or headlamp! A great place for a family outing. Our kids love it as much as we do!

Great trail. Take plenty of water!!

Nice wooded trails that are hard packed and clear with slight variations in elevation. Walked by train tracks never saw a lake and followed red trail on app. Did not come out where we started. Somewhat lost at end vs where we parked. Poorly marked trails which led us to the street north of Sixth street.

Love all 3 of the Konza trails! The second and third loops are very sunny. They are especially beautiful in spring/early summer when there is an abundance of wildflowers!

Hot day for a hike, but that swim half way through helped with the heat. It is a fairly hilly trail, but the 7 and 9 year old with me were able to enjoy it. Going on a Saturday evening meant that the water area was pretty crowded, but we still found a spot to climb and swim. I would definitely come back and hike it again.

All depends on time of year for this trail. We went mid July and the heat was pretty bad especially without any shade. Also the scenic areas near the water were almost entirely occupied by pontoons and boats making the water access nearly impossible and a loud environment with music and beer bottles littered around the beach areas. We stuck only to the trails and ended up with a dermacentor tick on the sock despite bug spray. So make sure you do a good tick check afterwards. Despite the boats and the heat, id imagine in the late fall it would be really pretty. Lots of cacti, local plants, and rolling hills. The rock formations are also really great. Would not recommend doing this in the summer overall.

Beautiful! Unfortunately, the drought affected the water flow; but still worth the trek.

I really liked this trail. The first part is easy and then it gets more challenging. There are a lot of stairs, but the views and natural formations are worth it. Saw 3 snakes on my hike, one copperhead. The day was hot and dry so the rocks were not slippery. I did the hike in tennis shoes and was just fine.

Beautiful trail. Not much shade. I would advise wearing a sun hat.

take this trail frequently to get to the best spot on the lake.

although it was a great walk, load on the deet. I reapplied bug spray and still ended up with over 50 mosquito bites. It was still gorgeous.

Amazing hike with great stops like Cobb Cave and Eden Falls

Beautiful

Beautiful hike that our whole family loves! Our four kids get excited every time we mention it. Best advice is to get there when the trail opens. We weren’t on the trail five minutes before we spotted dear grazing near the bridges.

Again, if you go all the way to fern lake and come back by bus (or the other way around) it is good. Otherwise, you might want ot go more to emerald lake, skypond, mills lake, etc.
