Beautiful views! $10 parking fee cash or credit.

10-13-18 we started in DL Bliss at the north end of the trail. The Park Ranger and signage stated this trail / campground would close 10-15-18 for the season. The Ranger indicated the trail could still be hiked, but the closest you could park to the trailhead would be just over a mile. There was a $10 fee (1 car, 2 people).

Outstanding hike, but we were time limited and only made it 3.5 miles out before turning around.

Saw many Steller’s Jays and large woodpeckers, not certain on type.

Hiked this with a friend the last weekend of September (2018). There was a lot of rain leading up to the trip, then great hiking weather. Waterfalls everywhere. Everywhere! It was absolutely beautiful. Trails were water logged and muddy, waterproof boots recommended. First backpacking I did in 21 years, so we took our time and spread it out over four days. Day one, Dutchman Falls to Sones Pond. Sones Pond to Worlds End. Worlds End to Haystacks. Haystacks to Dutchman Falls. Could have easily completed it in three days, but why bother. Because we went slow we added on the Butternut Trail loop and a section of Pioneer Road to Cottonwood Falls which were worth the views.

Make sure to visit the nature center at Worlds End. The people there are super friendly and accommodating. We met a woman on the board who wrote the trail guide and blazed many of the trails. Learned some fun bits of history from her. The nature center also has a small fortune in taxidermy worth checking out.

If you're planning on repeating our trip, don't camp at Haystacks your last day. The camping there isn't great. There is a great site we passed on the link trail right before the trail connects to PA-154 (near Pole Hill on the map). It's quite private from the road because of the elevation. We wish we camped there.

Will likely do this loop again. Or maybe rent a cabin and bring the family.

Awesome trail, worth the effort. It’s not too hard in terms of elevation, definitely recommend it!

Beautiful views. Lots of trees and views of lake

Beautiful gem of a trail!! Hiked to Emerald Cove, took us just under two hours with stopping for exploration to get there-an hour and 20 on the way back. Trail meanders up and down along little coves of the Lake. A fair amount of other hikers passing through. Wonderful trail!

Beautiful trail, well maintained!!!! The views are breathtaking! Would definitely do this one again....

Just a beautiful hike along hwy 101 and parts of Oregon coast. Although some of the trail intersects with the road you barely notice it’s there.

pleasant easy walk

My husband and I hike from the south trailhead. It took us about 45 minutes to get to the summit. We arrived at the viewpoint and noticed a large climbable rock behind us. It was indeed climbable and we had incredible views from the top. There was an easier way down that can be clearly seen from the top. Going up it is on the right of the trail just before the view. After a good hour on top trying to memorize the view we continued to the north trail head and were rewarded with more incredible views as we were nearing the trailhead. We ran the 2 miles back to our car

Beautiful hike along Lake Tahoe. Hard part was walking the mile up to the car from Vikingsholm

Awesome hike, forest is green and luscious. Hike was good, and weather was perfect. no rain, mud or snow.(even had first time hikers with us and everyone made it up and down) fall was an incredible sight. 100% must see. Falls flowing. We saw folks with dogs, children and bikes.

the views are spectacular! a nice gradual up and down trail along the lake up on the hillside. we never tire of this view. we did it in the morning Sept 8 to 9ish in the morning with the sun warming our hike to take the chill off.

Great bit of trail. Difficult sections are followed by easy trail. Oakland Run is an awesome creek with plenty of mini waterfalls. The trail becomes pointless after you reach game lands; it basically becomes a grassy access road.

Beautiful hike! Parked at DL Bliss State Park and arrived very early to get parking. Did not record it here but I think it’s about 9 to 11 miles.

Go early to avoid a crowd at the top.

We loved this hike, loved the variety of terrain, and it was the highlight of our hiking in Tahoe. It's a steep start but hang in there. I was very glad to have my hiking sticks for both the steep up and steep down on the return. The longer gentle uphill return was very easy. There are so many beautiful views, one more gorgeous than the rest. For a slow time of year, it was pretty busy. I don't think this would be very enjoyable during high season. It's 10.5 miles r/t to Vikingsholm according to FitBit and Google Maps. Definitely recommend!

Best hike my wife and I have ever taken. Breathtaking views, shade, well marked, not a lot of traffic. Inspires us to continue getting in better shape so we can hike the full length out and back! Highlight of our Tahoe vacation so far!

best to drop 1 car at viking Holm, and drive another car to bliss state park, lester beach and start from there. then you only go one way. or have some one pick you up by boat.

Love most of this trail, don't love the section that's on the side of the road, but otherwise a great easy trail and some great sections along the river.

My boyfriend and I did this trail a month ago and it was a simple trail till you got trying trail to get down to the pool. My boyfriend and I had a blast finding it but is difficult to find. I would highly recommend this pool it’s so beautiful and so worth the hike.

This is the most beautiful trail I’ve ever hiked in Northern California! Absolutely recommend & will definitely be doing again!

Did it today. Good Lakeviews and well maintained one. You have to pay to enter the park. There are places where you can get into the lake near emerald bay.

Awesome trail. One of my favorite hikes.

little effort for large reward. the walk is easy, a few uneven rocky sections but nothing bad and the pool is awesome. started early and was nice and quiet but got busy on the way out.

Easy, scenic hike with a massive payoff at the end.

This is a cute hike with lots to see at the beginning of the trail. The trail up follows the river at your right then you make your way up a rocky path to the top. Do yourself a favor and make a conscious effort to avoid stepping on the jagged rocks on your way up the path.

I wish that I had a bit more time to make my way down to the pool, next time for sure. That blue in the pool is just impressive. This is a must see.

Nice easy going hike in and out, could not believe how gorgeous the water was! I’ve been talking about going to see this wonder for a couple of years and was finally able to see what the hubbub was about. Well worth the effort to get to the pool and experience how truly cold that water is. Loved It!
