If you are looking for a heart pumper and you are in the area - go for it! I tend to go for scenery- not much to look at on the way up. Top view was good but small vista area that can get crowded.

Well worth the effort. Only a few other people on the trail and had the falls all to myself.

Awesome trail, little traffic and awesome views at the top.

Secluded beautiful waterfall - the trail was a little boring for kids, but easy.

Took my seven and eight year old sons - the trail had lots of fun water stops and the water fall was approachable and beautiful.

I did this hike today and it was very nice. The view is so beautiful at the end! The hike isn’t too strenuous and I would rate it moderate to hard at the very end. Be careful with yellow jackets (there was a nest), I got stung and ended up with a severe allergic reaction and a rescue team had to come get me. So if you’re allergic, take your pen/meds with you!

First thing to note is that this is a different trail than looking glass falls which several people seemed confused about. The only water fall is a very small one near the start. The trail is not steep but the 3 miles out is entirely uphill. The view at the top is definitely worth it though!

Lovely views, lovely hike. The climb is never steep, just steady and moderate. We hiked up for sunset and soaked in our first Eastern sights of the Milky Way along with a hand-full of meteors from the Perseid shower. Other than a few passers-by, we had the place to ourselves.

definitely a good work out and the end result is well worth it. just beware of the overgrown area that you have to duck through for about 40ft. and there are diamond back rattle snakes so be careful. otherwise a great hike.

This is a short but uphill hike the entire way with rewarding views at the end. The very last section leading to the summit is a bit of a rock scramble, but even the pups handled it like champs. The summit is small and could get really crowded when there are a lot of people and dogs. The trail was very muddy when I went after a rainy period so watch your footing.

Great workout. Not a scenic “hike”.

Loved the scenic trail and the destination is breathtaking! Hike is very strenuous but worth it in the end!

loved the views. Truly worth the drive. Would like to go in fall and even start over night.

Views are beautiful and it’s very peaceful at the top. Like others have said, it’s not much of a “hike” it’s more of a walk to the top, take in the scenery and head back to the bottom. All and all tho, it’s definitely beautiful up there.

Beautiful views on the way up to the blue trail loop.
We chose to go left and it was decently steep. My heart rate was up until we reached the top, where a natural spring was coming out of a rock.
I use trekking poles while hiking to protect my knees and was thankful to have them once we were half way up the blue trail.
We didn’t see any wildlife while we were out, but I imagine 2 people and 2 dogs make a lot of noise to scare animals out of our path.

Overall an easy well graded trail, very nice drop onto a lower rock. No pool but a great mist and shower.

This is not a hike it’s short and beyond easy. The 8 mile drive up the mountain is more eventful than the “hike”.

There is are fantastic views at the summit and great sunsets, but good luck enjoying them. Due to the simplicity of the “hike” there will be tons of people at the summit to provide you with a relaxing atmosphere of pizza, loud music, and obnoxiously loud laughing and screaming. If you’re looking for relaxation and a peaceful evening then skip this one

Great trail, well maintained and ability to see 4 falls if you know where to look!

Hard work but the view makes it worth it! Lots of water on the trail causing frequent mud puddles.

This trail is fantastic. Easy walk up with a few points of interest and the view at the end is breathtaking. No wonder the trailhead is ALWAYS packed.

The only downside was the rapid influx of obscuring clouds once we reached the top....after a few minutes, the Parker my lot was not visible, along with everything else. But what a view we had before the clouds engulfed us! Loved this!

Great hike with fantastic views at the top. A very popular trail so expect lots of company and to be parking on the side of the road since the parking lot will most likely be full. The trail is very well maintained. I would describe it as a moderate hike since all of the switchbacks make the ascent very managable.

A 1.4 mile round trip, easy trail to a beautiful and quaint waterfall.

Great easy trail, quick in and out, a good bit of hikers, fun rocks to climb and get great photos. M

Very nice trail for a great view at the top.
Would say it’s more of a moderate trail than hard.
Would recommend proper hiking shoes due to exposed roots, noticed some people having footing issues with running/gym shoes. I would do the trail again .

Favorite trail in pisgah! We hike this one every visit. Lots of little creek crossings and just a cool environment. Lightly traveled, we usually only come across just a few people. Dog loves it. We typically start from the Buckhorn Gap trailhead.

Great hike! Gradual uphill all the way up with pretty foliage. Just a pretty and enjoyable trail. I would say it’s more on the moderate side than difficult. Heavily trafficked with lots of dogs too — but it is a Saturday in summer. Went early (started around 9:30) and it wasn’t too bad traffic wise on the way up. The view is definitely worth it with a nice, mostly easy trek down. Would definitely do this one again.

Beautiful waterfall after a nice meandering moderate trail.

Fun short hike, though the incline/decline is quite strenuous. We hiked it in the rain and the rocks were still fairly easy to navigate!
