Cute lake with loads of geese. Beautiful old Manor House with horse fields and v friendly and cute cows. You then walk around towards the back of the house and past a ruin in the woods. And then over a cute little woodlandy bridge. Some fairly uninteresting fields other than that but we saw a big starling murmuration which was beautiful!

Walking

Really good walk. Not too long or difficult, and some interesting things to look at on the way round. Good that there's proper parking too. We'll definitely do this one again.

I enjoyed this walk yesterday. It had the added bonus of it snowing. Dog friendly

Fantastic walk, quite hard in places. We went in the snow, very icy but very scenic.

The walk itself was incredibly enjoyable and the views from Parkhouse summit where fantastic (can’t comment on the views from Chrome Hill as visibility was zero due to mist and fog). We found the start of the route incredibly inaccurate and just had to use common sense to guide ourselves along the roads and onto the trails, the rest of the route was easy to follow. We went on a wet, cold and foggy December day and were out for just over 5 hours although our moving time was 4hrs 20mins. The trails were incredibly muddy, wet and sloppy so make sure you wear appropriate if going in winter. We had lots of falls and slips and to be honest it added to the day and we found it hilarious (just take spare clothes to change into as we wear caked in mud ). I took my wee Jack Russell with me and he managed the route fine, he took scrambling in his stride and showed us both up. Overall, despite a slightly inaccurate map to start, the walk was fun, exciting and the views we did witness were beautiful. Maybe just the time of year we went, but I wouldn’t say the walk was moderate or for beginners as it was quite technical at times and some of the ascents and descents were very steep (and difficult to get down due to the slipperiness). I would say you need a good level of fitness. Will definitely go back on a clearer day to take advantage of the views.

Added to this walk by going through the fields from North Hykeham and picking up the route from the bridge over the drain down from Brant Road. Great views from the cliff, shame about the incinerator though.
