Viewed the lower falls and then hiked to the upper falls. The trail to upper was pretty muddy but not at all un-passable. We hiked back to the parking lot by going on the graveyard fields trail to add some variety. Lower falls were very crowded but the hike to upper falls had more solitude and when we arrived at the upper falls we were the only ones there.

Beautiful trails and waterfalls!

A good hike. Only opens on Fridays to Sundays. Mostly unpaved, with rain it could be a bit muddy. My 5 year old did it. It took a bit time to hike up, but coming down was a breeze.

My favorite hike! Beautiful views, challenging but awesome! Takes you to other connecting trails if you want longer hikes.

little bit of a workout but totally worth it

Nice enjoyable hike, it took only a hr to hike up to the falls. The falls are well worth the hike.

Our first hike in the Smoky Mountains! Very scenic with a beautiful waterfall in the end! A little steep but a nice challenge. Our group ranged from 6 to 62 and we all enjoyed it! Will definitely do again on our next visit!

Fun family hike!

Pretty nice trail. Steep so it’s a little challenging. The falls were cool but not amazing

Great hike and views. Rocky terrain so take caution. Marked trail leads to Mt. LeConte.

Neat well kept trail

Beautiful Views! Hike was a little difficult

We love this trail but be careful this trail can be difficult make sure you have the proper foot gear on and bring water and a snack. There a lot of Kool pictures to be taken on this hike so you might be stoping a lot. When we there a women fell off the side of the trail about 2 stories down into the creek. EMS had to come and get her some of the trail is a little thin on the way to the falls. And she will be ok broken ankle and wrist. But this is a good opportunity to say hiking is fun but be prepared for the worst : )

Nice trail. The waterfalls are gorgeous but the trail to the upper isn’t well marked. Never saw a blaze and went off the path for a little bit. Fortunately there are a ton of people who you will run into at some point to redirect.

Upper falls is worth it despite wet trail and many offshoots.

Great trail. Very much enjoyed the river along the trail. There were many beautiful cascades and small falls along the way. Learned lots of history about the area from our knowledgeable guide. Great day hike for families, but a bit long for small children. Indian Flats Falls was beautiful. Well worth the hike.

Amazing!

Easy and mostly flat.

Pretty amazing hike.

absolutely beautiful shaded hike, breathtaking huge waterfall we thought it was the first little one but ten mins after that there is a huge waterfall you can sit on the Rocks and feel it's refreshing mist, it only took us 2 hrs to get there and hour and 15 mins back well worth the hike

Was worth it for us. We went in the spring and it was cold. It was also just after a large snow storm, so the snow was melting and we got a gorgeous view of the falls! Hiked with my 11 year old and he did great! Took us 2.5 to get up and 1.5 to go down. Several smaller falls along the route as well.

Great hike! Took me 3.5 hours to do the Loop and clocked more than 9.4 miles total; certainly more than what’s advertised on the site. Waterfalls, thick rhododendron forests, but very muddy and slick in some places. Going up Art Loeb was great and passing by the campsites was fun near dark.

This trail was relatively easy. Other trails we have been on became part of the terrain, whereas this was a “trail” the whole way. Rainbow Falls was beautiful- wished we had seen a rainbow! Worth the view for the distance of the hike. We enjoyed it!

Swimming hole!   Bring a towel and get your paws wet.

This is a must stop on the Blue Ridge Parkway.   Get there early!   The parking lot fills up early.

Theres a fair amount of elevation change.  Fortunately there are stairs at the top, stairs in the middle and stairs at the bottom.  Lots of well maintained stairs plus a bridge and a bordwalk with an asphalt trail in between.   There's really not much of a trail to get your paws dirty.   Thanks USFS!  A great trail for older owners or owners with younger children.

Four rest rooms in the parking lot if you need to do a quick change into dry fur before resuming your journey.   They're pit toliets but they're clean and well maintained if you need to do your business and can't sniff and pee along the trail like I can.

Remember to practice safe waterfalling.  Stay at the bottom.  No climbing.  Finally, remember to always keep your owners on a leash so they don't get lost.

Five woofs.

Great hike but definitely more on the difficult side going up. It had recently rained so there were parts that were very muddy. We passed a lot of people that had slipped and almost slipped ourselves a few times. But if you’re up for the challenge, it’s a beautiful hike, shaded in most parts with pretty water scenery.

Nice trail - easy to follow. Not a lot of people since it’s a moderate trail and out to the falls is all up hill. The top of the trail is really nice with the water fall to see and rocks to sit on to enjoy the scenery. Definitely recommend good shoes and water for the hike. About 3 hours for approx 6 miles.

great hike
