Great day hike with the ladies. Very empty on a December Sunday

Went here for the first time today beautiful place. I was the only one out there and it was awesome. It’s not a easy hike I did the whole loop in about 3 hours. I had to use this app a few times because trailers are not well marked. Definitely recommend! Where proper gear it may look like a short hike it’s definitely a challenge. excited to return there in the warmer weather.

Nice trail, clearly marked and easy to follow. you'll have to cross the chain bridge and make a right into a small parking lot with a marker for the Appalachian trail. walk back across the bridge and cross the street at the end, this is the trail head. lots of gas stations on the way on close by.

As said in other comments the first mile or so its a steep rocky climb and will definitely be a good work out so come prepared to start strong. At the top of this section there is a spring and a little structure with a visitors log and a fire pit. continue on to see a sign that indicates the north trail heading to the right. this route is easy to walk and has beautiful views and plant life. This trail Continues past some radio towers and over the lehigh tunnel then loops back around to meet the white trail again. You can follow this back to the start and get some nice downhill sections you can run if your into that, although I don't recommend doing so unless you are experienced as it is dangerous and easy to hit a rock and fall while running. There were also a bunch of woodpeckers around this section.

For a more challenging route take the white trail first to hit those inclines instead.

I would defintely have a good sturdy pair of boots, this trail is very rocky in parts with a fair amount of loose rocks.

Well this was my first time at the falls, I went with my brother in law and nephew. Our plans were to take the shorter trail due to it getting dark so early again. We accidentally ended up in the lower parking lot and said the hell with it and took the longer route. First and foremost the extra hike was definitely work it. Just the few extra waterfalls on it alone are worth it.
Once we got to the loop it was beautiful, but holy steps Bat-man!! lol. It was a hike up hill. Since we had some snow recently it was definitely very dangerous in spots, I understand why they have so many warnings posted.
Over all, with the careful footing for to the ice and the MANY pictures we stopped to take, the whole trek took us 4.5 hr's. And we finished just in time as the sun was going down and the rain began.
Overall a great first time experience at Rickets Glenn. We must have discussed or future trips back half a dozen times over the hike.

My family of 6 LOVED this hike so much! It was challenging and fun for all ages, but we took extra caution and went slow with our 6 year old. The kids loved playing on the rocks and we were so impressed with the waterfalls. I highly recommend this hike! Wear hiking boots for sure!

Sept 2018- We left at 11:15 AM. Took us a little over 4 hours. Very pretty overlook.

Hike with my wife early Sunday AM. 6 to 9” of snow made Going tough. Trail is Awsome !!!

Good trail, hiked this in the early fall to get ready for a trip to Yosemite. Waterfalls were great and was steep enough to get the heart rate up! Definitely recommended

Amazing in the winter.

My son took me out on Falls Trail the day before Thanksgiving. He is an experienced climber and guide and I learned a lot about hiking in winter. We were the only people on the trail and got to see the falls in a pristine snow-covered setting. Unbelievable. We went to Waters Meet and then turned around, as it was pretty strenuous for me. It was incredibly beautiful.

This is such a magical trail! We started our hike by heading South from the family camping ground, and it made for a pretty easy hike. Nice vistas of the Loyalsock, and we played in the “rock garden” for a bit after eating lunch at the Loyalsock Canyon Vista parking area - just follow the trail beside the bathroom.

On the back half of our loop, we hit downhill switchbacks, giant rock areas that look like they’re right off the set of the TV show Outlander, and ended with an easy walk along the river. (Going the other way would be BRUTAL.) Was a fantastic end to such a great hike. I highly recommend this hike and will definitely be back for more!

Awesome trail hiked it today in the snow absolutely beautiful gotta hit it when there ain’t many ppl their cause it gets full

hiked this on 11/4 with a friend. loved it. many people on the trail and lots of dogs. made it fun. had lunch and hot coffee from my thermos at the Pinnacle rock. views beautiful. saw a bald Eagle!!!

Love this trail. Hiked twice — once in the spring and once in the middle of summer. Would like to try again in the fall. Can be very crowded, but the falls are breathtaking and worth it. Good idea to bring bug spray on this hike during the summer.

Definitely one of the best hikes I've ever done. Falls were amazing and scrambling up the rocks was a lot of fun.

Just did this with my daughter today. Had a ton of fun on this course! Very rocky between Pulpit and Pinnacle so a little slow going at times, but the views are worth it. Definitely need waterproof hiking boots too, as the return leg was quite muddy in spots. The spring on the last leg was flowing really well, so we stopped there to fill up.

Ricketts Glen is by far the best trail I’ve ever been to. All of the waterfalls are amazing , a must see for everyone.. Get your camera ready this place is breathtaking. I recommend good shoes and a walking stick!

A great little day hike. Take a lunch and sit at the pinnacle to enjoy views of hawks hunting over the valley

AMAZING wish I lived closer. The falls are beautiful. Scrambling is a little tough but I was able to do it with my dog on a lead. Highly recommend.

Really pretty fall hike. Also relatively uncrowded even though it was a beautiful Sunday. I did the north trail, followed the AT a little ways further, and then went back to the parking lot via the south trail. I definitely wouldn't rate this as a hard hike, but the initial part was a nice little climb.

Solid hike! I did this loop in about 3 hours, we took our time looking at the falls/outlooks. The waterfalls are quite steep and can be slippery, hiking shoes are best. I would not suggest going down on the falls side! Some parts of the trail are not well marked, so pay close attention once you get to the top of the falls.

This is obviously a great hike, though it can be crowded at times. Awesome falls just about the entire hike. It took us about 4 hours to do the loop on a less crowded day. It can be slippery so use caution. Must do hike and IMHO late October early November is the best time.

Never Gets Old. Did the short loop this time out to the over looks and back down to trail down.
Trail over to Overlook isn’t marked very well..if it’s snow covered you’re lost if u don’t have this app..

Trail is beautiful! Falls vary in size but all are great. Just hiked today and leaves made for slippery rocks and trails but the scenery was perfect! Great fall hike for sure. I will definitely return. My German Shepherd who is almost 11 years old pretty much ran this whole trail which means I did as well. Also lots of detours into the water for fun! Great trail for dogs (if larger in size and in good shape) lots of well marked trails and plenty of spots to step aside to let people pass. Highly recommend this trail! Experience it because it's worth it!

very strenuous, but pleasant

Wow! Stunning yellows here right now. The falls are gorgeous, pictures don't do it justice. I'm so glad I took th loop clockwise like someone on this app suggested. It would have been much more difficult coming down on the falls side. I wouldn't suggest doing this in the rain as wet rock scrambling here could be dangerous. The overlook was awesome, don't miss this trail!

This was a fantastic hike. Very Scenic and very challenging. Highly recommended. if I were to do it again I would not take the back half of the loop though. Much better to stay along the falls and out along the ridge of the Gorge.

Not on a rainy day.

Get there early because it is a narrow trail that gets very crowded
