Beautiful!! it's a bit tough in places, but then again, I'm probably an beginner/ intermediate hiker. I took breaks as needed but the last little bit was a bit of a climb. there are a few spots with loose pebbles. I find my hiking sticks very helpful. the views were gorgeous!!!

Completed on 12/15/18. Loved this hike. Beautiful views. I would rate it as easy. Lots of people at the top. My fitbit showed only 1.5 miles from the parking lot.

Continues past chicken point but then loses in forest. Very poorly marked. Got directions from s pink jeep driver thanks a bunch!

Head out early for best views. Bring your GPS!

Wife and I did this hike in December. Weather was not too cold. Make sure to bring plenty water. Once you leave the parking lot you won’t see it for about 4 miles.
About half way it will get tricky where the trail is but look for a metal cage pillar with rocks in them that means you are on right path.

Easy, spectacular views the whole way, beautiful flowers, wasn't too crowded with a 9am start. Busier by 10am. Shared the summit with a jeep tour, but luckily they left pretty quickly and I enjoyed the views from the top to myself.

It‘ s a nice short but moderate hike. It took me 50 minutes from the parking lot to the cave and this is including stops to take pictures. On the way back I took my time looking for critters and reptiles. Found some scorpions and lizards.
As for the cave I was the first one of the day and I had the cave all for myself. Loved it!!!

Well laid out trail with some loose rocks in spots so watch those ankles! Great payoff with a pool of water (it rained a little recently) below a group of rocks with Hohokam petroglyphs. Shamefully some recent graffiti added near the site.

Great trail. Moderate, easy and then sometimes butt burner. Keep in mind tho that the red sand is fine and if it has rained, which it had the day before we got there, it will be like clay and stick to your shoes or wheels, which for us having a new SUV we needed to get our horse brush out to clean them before putting in our vehicle.

Fairly easy hike. Can get slippery at the end but beautiful.. Best in Jan/Feb after a good rain

Really easy, perfect for beginners and kids.

Would go 1000 times again. Pretty rocky at the end but worth every second!
Bring water !!!

Ild call this moderate for sure. It’s lots of loose rock, sorta steel, and a bit of both at the end. With the effort though!

A very nice hiking trail with some great views

A beautiful hike with incredible views of Battleship Mountain and the Superstition Wilderness. Trail is really well marked and taken care of!

Need a red rock pass!!!
Amazing views. Went during the week and had the whole cave to myself. You definitly should bring a hiking stick to assist in the downward decent. Loose gravel is tricky. Took roughly 50 minutes going up. I thought it would be a much faster hike being only 3 miles but the elevation gane is over 3000’. Very dense desert vegetation once you are about halfway up the trail. Very picturesque. Would not recommend for young kids.

Did this with my dog today. Great hike! It gets a bit harder towards the end. All of the previous reviews are quite accurate.

If the trail isnt part of Na Ala Hele, it is not maintained very well.

This was the first trail my daughter (13) and I hiked after moving here. We went just before sunset and into sunset and the view was gorgeous. This trail made us fall in love with hiking.

Nice hike. Gradual climb so not strenuous but kinda challenging for my parents (in their 70’s) due to the rocky path. Very cool drawings on rock face and lots of boulders that the kids love to climb. Some water in the pools but it wasn’t flowing.

This was a cool hike. Wasn’t too much special about it although it did offer some really cool views. The return had some nice elevation gains at points, nothing great though. The bridge mentioned in the below review had been destroyed by the time I hiked it on 12/1, so it was just a hike across a dry river bed instead. If you’re here, be sure to hike Yavapai Point Trail, too. No shade, so take plenty of water if you plan on hiking both. $7 to enter, and I might would hike this again when I return for Yavapai Point, but just to see if the bridge had been repaired.

Awesome hike! Everyone is pretty accurate that it is about 45 minutes up and a great sight! It’s amazing how good of a view you can get after just a little bit of hiking!

Go early. Hit the first parking lot. Stay to the left most the trail and through the orange fence. When we came down we probably passed 20+ people going up.

FANTASTIC hike, just when you're starting to get a little tired, you're there, and the playoff is the picture you can take.

Great and smoth

All trails needs more than just difficulty = Easy, Moderate, or Hard .. as this trail is not "easy" in the typical sense.

Strenuous?: Low
Technical/Treacherous?: High

But a great hike! Really enjoyed and might come back. Note it is closed though, as noted by a big sign right at the entrance. But nobody cares

October 18- we hiked this trail in the afternoon. It had stunning views throughout. Tons of plants and animals to observe. It took us 1.5 hours. We parked at the trailhead since it had just stopped raining- but it can get pretty crowded. The highlight was listening to coyotes in the distance.

Did this trail for the first time a little less than 2 weeks ago or so. Great trail for kids - the end part with the petroglyphs and rocky climbing area...our 3 kiddos LOVED it. Looking forward to going back again, and this time packing a picnic and spending the whole day there!
