Great little workout

Loved this hike. Amazing views.

Perfect morning hike. We started around 9:30 and there was plenty of parking by the trailhead. The way up was a good workout (moderate due to the incline), with a great view at the top, and nice, shaded and easy descent down. If I lived in the area I would frequent this trail. Seemed well liked by runners and mountain bikers.

Trail to mt Cutler is lined with very cool rock formations once you near the top. definitely worth it!

I ended up taking the Palmer Trail today almost by accident. I was at a corner trying to decide, if I should go down towards Red Rock Canyon or up the Palmer Trail. A trail runner came by and encouraged me to go up, take it slow and enjoy the views. So I did. I questioned my sanity going up the rocky side since I live in the Austin,TX area and on 1000ft. But by the time I got to the top with taking a break on the uphill, I was sold on this trail. This trail is what I have missed since moving from the area 11 years ago. I liked the challenge going up the rocky part, sitting and taking it all in at the top, the views on the longer downhill slope. To me it was the perfect trail to celebrate reaching 2000 miles of hiking for the year today. PS: For those that have problem with finding the trail they are on: turn on the alltrails app, pull up the trail you want to hike and the location on your phone and the blue dot will tell you where you are...  I never lost reception on this trail, plus it is NOT hard to follow once you start on the rocky incline...  I would like to add that the longer downhill part is easy or moderate, but that rocky incline was probably somewhere between moderate and hard!!!!

Hiked the trail a few weeks ago. I thought it was really lovely- with some pretty stunning views of the evergreen-covered hills and a very nice, small waterfall with wood bridge. The first half or so was somewhat steep, but the descent was a really nice grade.

Great for dogs. Fairly well trafficked.

Easy trail for sure. Good portion of it shaded. Great for kids or for trail running. Well marked trail with nice views. Good place to take out of Townes not used to the elevation.

gorgeous views from the top and great for fast running back down. last 1/2 mile up to the summit is a bit challenging but worth the twists and turns!

This was a great 5.5 miles venture, 2.3 miles was the upper loop. There was a couple other out and back trails, not included in the 5.5 miles. Took two moderately active people an hour and 45 minutes. Saw a coyote.

Great hike. My 12 year old killed it.

Family friendly hike to the summit of My Herman. Kids loved it, beautiful views of pikes peak and monument. A little tricky at the top to stay on course, stay to your left to get to the summit and it’s bit steep on the decent. Overall a great family hiking day.

Great hike with many trail options ranging in difficulty. Watch out for rattlesnakes!

Awesome, awesome trail. Scrambling at the top gets a bit hairy but worth it!

one of the best I've found in the Springs so far!

Such a great hike in the middle of the city! A little hot in the open stretches so bring lots of water. Wonderful views, you forget you are in the middle of town.

My second trip to CS from Dallas and led my family of four on this trail based on number of good reviews on Alltrail. It took us little over 4 hours to finish. Yes, we were out of shape for this kind of trail. First couple miles were tough because of elevation change and heat. But we took breaks often. Bring lots of water, sunblock, hats to protect yourself from sections with no shades. Scenery was nice but there are better places. Anyway, great hike overall! Oh, I relied on Alltrail and Google map to navigate. Also, there were plenty of other hikers to ask and get direction.

Very beautiful summit. The trail is definitely moderate, as some scrambling is required at the top but it is manageable without any special equipment. I would recommend this to out of town visitors who want to experience climbing a mountain and I will definitely be back! I would advise average to above average fitness level.

Great easy trail with scenic views. Some nice shade along the way

Great trail, very scenic. The service road going to the top nearly killed me

Great hike that can be done in a short amount of time. The description of the hike above is accurate. Follow the directions on the yellow start dot on the map carefully. There are multiple branches in the trail at the 0.2 mile mark where the trail takes off up the mountain. The trail does not cross the creek but turns back south and heads up the mountain. Many points in the trail are simply wide areas where water runs during storms. Near the top, hikers have left cairns to guide your way to the top. There is a windsock at the top and a metal pole near the windsock. The ammo box is at the base of the metal pole. This trail becomes a stream when it rains!

I would rate this more on the easy side -a pleasant walk. Nice views from the top.

Great hike! Definitely would say the difficulty increases as you near the top, but the views are 100% worth the climb!

Awesome hike, great views and far less crowded than the paved walking areas.

Great for an easy evening run/hike, or nature walk with kids. Only downside- trails not marked well.

This app says “moderate” but the sign says “intermediate- difficult” which is much more accurate. I found the second half of the climb difficult as one must do some scrambling on the upper portion. However, it is very rewarding once you get to the top. If you have trek poles the take them...I’m happy I did!

Perfect to start my 7 year old with longer hikes. Beautiful and just enough shade to not die in the heat.

I love this trail. It's great exercise and it's beautiful! It's hard, don't believe moderate!!! But so worth it!
