We really enjoyed this place. Very family friendly and fairly flat terrain that makes for an easy hike. We saw some beautiful wildlife and flowers (turtles, Lillys and Lilly pads, dragon flies, etc). We only hiked about 1.5 miles and plan to go back to see more. I definitely recommend bringing bug spray as there were a lot of mosquitoes in the wet areas.

This is a beautiful wildlife sanctuary with a variety of trails. On our first visit, we took my frail elderly mother. We borrowed their all-terrain wheelchair and took my mother on the short accessible trail by the lily pond. For our second visit (without my mother), we did a longer hike along the millpond path, Charles River loop, and frog pond trail. The nature is varied with ponds, small waterfalls, the Charles River, woods, and a few meadows. We saw a turtle, frog, deer, a flock of wild turkeys, and numerous other birds. Trails are generally well-marked, and we only had a few points of confusion.

Simply beautiful and so peaceful.

I think you have the wrong trail in the map. Millington trail is the red blazes. I know this, because I passed the green trail twice like the devil’s hopyard map says. I think it might be the green trail or blue. The trail listed which is green is the woodcutters trail and the blue it’s just blue. It’s easy to see when you look at the devil’s hopyard map they provide. Great trail I just wanted to bring attention to this and make it so others weren’t as confused as I was. It says that it is connected to the orange trail, but it goes out to the left of the map out of any crossing. Or maybe it’s labeled wrong as the upper loop of the orange trail where you go down a bit to the end of the second loop go back up and skip devil’s oven. Just fallow the red blazes after the waterfall.

Easy trail until you hike up to devils oven. Which has a big incline. Brought a dog and the dog could keep up.

Second time going here. Absolutely my favorite. It's a work out climbing up the steep inclines. We
saw tons of red spotted purple butterflies and some turkey! my Wife almost stepped on a garden snake. lol

Beautiful!

much easier than moderate. easy plus, maybe.

Beautiful during every season. Lovely trails and a fantastic boardwalk, so many great critters to see along the way!

The directions to the trail didn't bring us to the trail head. We pulled into the picnic area and went to the end. Go over the bridge and stay straight. As you ascend the mountain you will see the red markings. Trail was a bit muddy

Awesome trail. But beware, hard means hard! Not for the newbie. Hiked it when it was raining and definitely wouldn’t have wanted to be in that situation without climbing and scrambling skills. Can get very dangerous, very quick. Especially the back side of Bear Mt. And the ascent to Mt Everett is no joke! But what a great experience! Will be doing it again soon.

Great hike with a unique payoff at Rand's View. Was lucky to have the meadow all to myself, as I arrived early. Unfortunately it was a bit misty and foggy in the distance so the view was not all it might have been. Still super cool. I didn't hike as far as the AllTrails route indicates, but I did check out Giant's Thumb and went a little beyond that, until I saw the trail heading steeply downhill. Mount Prospect view is nice, though not spectacular. But it's a good place to rest for a while before chugging along to Rand's View. Lots of nice ups and downs on this trail, but nothing too taxing.

This section of the AT is difficult, that’s for sure. Sometimes the gradual climbs seem to go on forever. But once you reach the top(s) you’re rewarded with the most spectacular views. The northbound scramble down from Bear Mountain is also challenging. I’d definitely recommend hiking poles.

There are plenty of active water sources (at least in springtime) and the trails are nicely marked with ample signage. The campsites are nicely maintained, but prepare to share the shelters with other hikers. For me this proved to be an awesome opportunity to swap stories with experienced AT thru-hikers.

All-in-all a fantastically rewarding hike!

this is my all time favorite place to go for a hike. LOVE it. but c'mon people... pick up your dog poop bags. Why do you even bag it if your just gonna leave it on the ground?

Nice hike, some paths are a bit confusing, but overall very pretty.

This is the best place to go!! Beautiful view if you're willing to go up the broken tower....still worth it. All time favorite spot

Very easy trail. Nice view. We saw two tiny turtles.

I'm planning a hike here this year. is there a place to park?

Did a loop out in the Indian Brook Trail area. Very cool with a vernal pool to check out too. Noticed a wild turkey in the field, she hung pretty close to the trail so I could check her out. Big bird! This is a great property, check it out.

What a lovely place 5 dollars to get in but worth every penny

Beautiful. We made a few short cuts, and went to the waterfalls from the parking lot at the end.
Really nice trail.

Nice family hike with family and dog. Waterfall was the best park. Busy, popular spot. Nice for picnics too.

The trail wasn't well marked, but it was beautiful in the snow.

Beautiful birding, boardwalk, mill pond has many falls, Charles river loop extension is a must.

Tough trail in spots - especially the climb up Mt Everett from the south. Beautiful scenery that is always changing during the hike. Sages ravine was especially beautiful.

Ideal for a short hike. The trails are not marked too clearly at times but lots of foliage and great views.

A beautiful nature reserve with well marked trails and many water bodies populated with fowl. A great place for birdwatching and hiking.

Just walked to the trails leading to the tower when there was access to it back in 2006 & 2012. Nothing really exciting to see. It's pretty much a place to make out w your significant other. The trails are not difficult at all. Easy enough for a 3 y/o to walk through it.

This place is gorgeous! I loved it all. Trails well marked, amazing waterfall! Highly recommend!

Absolutely lovely
