Solid hike with great views at the end.

This .6 mile hike into Ripley’s Fall is so worth the journey. There are a lot of rocks and roots to traverse. The path is narrow in places and it was a little wet in places (we went in Sept, probably is very wet in Spring). The granite face of the falls is amazing, creating more of a water slide then falls. The slab is wide so I would imagine in the Spring it’s even more grand.

if you are looking for a hike to get a medium workout and excellent view under 3 hours (time to relax at top for a while) this is the one. I am 60, don't do elevations any more. well worth a little heavy breathing as you're climbing from the top of the notch and looking down into the bottom off cliffs on east side.

The other recent reviews are spot on! Steady incline, approximately two hours, easy side of moderate, gorgeous views at the top. Going down was a bit trickier because of the loose rocks so I’d recommend taking it slower and watching your footing. Took one hour to get to the top and about the same to get down. Park in the railroad station parking lot and behind the station is a sign that says P85...that’s the entrance.

Really beautiful.

Love this Hike!

Loved the views at the top. Recovering from knee surgery but this was doable with hiking poles and a brace and lots of rest stops. I should have worn hiking boots instead of sneakers!

Trail was super easy to navigate and it didn’t take long at all to reach the base of the falls. A little more climbing brings you to the top where I was able to sit with my dog and enjoy the views and the sound of the rushing water. Would totally recommend for any skill level!

A quick hike with an amazing view of the White Mountains! Well worth the time!

This trail was so much fun for our family to hike! The perfect amount of a challenge for our 5 and 7 year olds, and the waterfall is beautiful! The kids had a ball walking and splashing in the water.

Amazing views. Went to see the sunset and was not disappointed. Would definitely do this hike again!

One of my favorites hikes. It is always beautiful and the views from the ledges are great. Good views for the effort.

Nice views from the top of surrounding mountains, about 1 h 15 min up on a warm day.

great easy hike with a rewarding view at the top. great for sunsets!

One of the best fire tower views in NH. Check out my full write along with directions and things to look for.

Amazing views all around. A lot of steps and some moderately steep parts.
Well worth it. Go early and during the week for less crowds.

Great trail and well maintained. Some pretty steep sections going up but the trail is well maintained with places to step. Beautiful and breathtaking from the top! We did see a black bear and cub about 50 feet from the trail on the way down and 1/2 mile from trailhead. They did run away as advertised.

Went hiking with my girlfriend for our anniversary, and she fell in mud, slipped on the way back landing on her butt, and got a really good workout. So all in all, it was a really good day. Long hike for sure, and the lake is pretty small, but really nice.

Most bang for your buck short hike in the white mountain region. Fairly easy, but steep hike. Took about 2 hours in total, including about 20 min break at the top to take in the spectacular views. This one is a must do!

Great hike. Took two dogs one older and they both made it up. but definitely challenging. Many rocks and some steep inclines. The hike had some challenging parts but since it was a cooler day and dry it was fun! Loved the view from the top. Parking filled up fast to go early. They also have good bathrooms since it’s also the camp site but no trash for the dog poop.

Great view easier hike. Can be up and down in 2 hrs.

great trail for an easy hike to breathtaking views! lots of dogs with minimal people. love it!

Decent summit views for an easy to moderate effort. Nothing challenging on this trail. It makes for good exercise with little to no traffic.

First half is pretty easy, gets a little steeper through the middle and then it levels out once you get closer to the lake. Really nice views all around the lake, didn’t go in for a swim just because it was a little cooler out but look forward to coming back on a hot summer day!

Little over 5 miles round trip. You park at the flume and head up. Going under the bridges for the highway and rt 3. Trail is mostly moderate and some spots a tad but higher than moderate but absolutely not difficult at all. Views from the top are gorgeous as you sit on the large rock mountain side.

Great hike. Steep at the beginning; good workout. Beautiful lake at the top and a flat loop that goes around it. Plenty of places to stop and admire the beauty. We had a gorgeous day and will certainly do this one at some point in the future, maybe adding the ridge trail.

great time

My first time visiting the White mountains and I loved this trail! My friends and I went counter clockwise, as suggested by other reviews, and were glad we did. I would rate the inclines this way as moderate. The views are unbeatable and the trail itself is just gorgeous. Make sure you don’t miss the main look out point. There is a small sign posted on a tree, so keep your eyes out so you can see the best view!

Hike was fairly easy for the great views at the end. Very populated and hard to find a spot to get a minute alone to enjoy the views quietly but the views are definitely incredible!

Nice hike with great views from the top. We went counter-clockwise, so the steepest part was encountered going uphill, not downhill.
Also, nicely shaded everywhere (except the ledges at the summit), which was great on a hot day.
