I didn’t believe places like such existed! I only thought they were in movies! One of the most beautiful place I’ve been! Walk out into that marsh! Walk that boardwalk! Take your kids there! Just stand, be quiet and enjoy it! Go see Atlaya Castle too! If you look it up it says Pawlys Island but it’s in HBSP! There is also kayaking offered at the RS! Look me up to pics of Atlaya!!!

awesome hiking with wonderful views

I am not sure this should be an easy if you do the entire trail. Yeah the wide flat part is super easy, but there are climbing parts that are more like the low side of moderate. I enjoyed this trail and did veer off the path some. Total distance for me was about 7 miles. The side parts of this path are nice and more lightly trafficked in the AM. I arrived early and saw much more foot traffic when finishing up around 11 am. I did the path solo so did bring a clicker to make noise as well periodically. It was only needed on the less trafficked parts. Evidently I wasn’t making enough noise though as I still walked up on a deer before it got startled. At least it wasn’t a bear :) The waterfalls were great as well. Definitely a great hike overall. If you use all trails just be sure it updates as mine struggled on this path (showing me accurately) and I had it downloaded.

Cost: $7 per person.

Need I say more? Other states don't charge money to walk around in nature.

We didn’t hike the entire loop. We took the trail to the left from the parking lot and walked up to Juney Whank Falls then that led us down near Tom Branch Falls and we followed that trail to Indian Falls and then we turned back. It’s a relatively easy trail (minus the walk up at the start). We stayed down the road at Deep Creek Tube Center and Campground and had a great time tubing in this part of the park as well.

Super easy even in winter. Great hike for the kids. Stayed in Bryson City during Christmas this past year and did all the Deep Creek falls hikes.

This is the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to seeing multiple waterfalls in the Great Smoky Mountains. You can make this hi8ke as easy or as hard as you want with multiple options existing on the loop. There are 3 beautiful waterfalls. We come here often as we live in the area and it is a very common area for tubing in the summer. Beautiful area.

Nice easy scenic trail that I did with my twin brother and four Shih Tzu companions while camping in the area several years ago.

I didn’t exactly follow this map, but I really enjoy this park. Not too difficult but you can get a lot of miles! We wandered into the section of the park that I think is mostly used by bikers. Really beautiful in that section but we did end up getting lost because there are a lot of forks and no signs.

We went on the trail after a thunderstorm had come through. Waterfalls were muddy but spectacular to see. Not all of this loop was easy. The mountain ascent was steep for this lady who’s just starting to do longer hikes.

The first part of the trail is nice to see all of the Tubers having fun. MAKE SURE that you all take the right after the bridge to the LOOP trail and DONT go left to the Deep Creek Trail or you will hike for miles!!!!! We ended up going at least 10 extra miles!

Walked this trail on the 18 of July, started around 0900 and finished just before 11. I hike fast when I'm by myself but enjoyed this trail. The trail does have a descent amount of elevation gain and the trail has a good width to it since it is designated for horses. This would be a good quick hike or can be combined with others to make a full day.

Get there early if you want a more quiet walk. Many families there by mid morning to tube in the creek. (Which looked fun!) The trail was manageable for my older parents and younger kids. The waterfall and creek make for beautiful photos with the family.

My husband & I hiked this trail yesterday with an early start. Beautiful trail with lots to see. Love to hike with water features from the creek raging along the trail, waterfalls, & peaceful trickling streams trailing down the mountain, its here. Calm pools for fishing, wildflowers & rock formations, you won't be disappointed! Glad we arrived early as we finished our hike, loads of eager tubing fans were trekking up the trail to get a chance to ride the waves of cascading water in the creek. There is something for everyone here. A great day all the way around!

Not steep but long climb, the first mile was a very wide pathway but after that it was more of a trail. Overall good trail. 3 waterfalls along the trail. Some difficult parts but mostly easy

This trail has something for everyone, scenic views, fly fishing, water falls, and just enough incline for a slight challenge. The trail is well maintained and clean except for horse manure. Lots of trails in this area are horse friendly ( so watch your step).

Nice trail. Practiced hiked with a 33 lb pack. It’s a bit more difficult the further east you go. The description says it’s a 5.1 mile loop. I’m not sure what loop they are talking about, but it’s a lot more that 5.1 miles. Hiked from car lot and went 2 miles east to all the switchbacks, then returned, totaling 4.1 miles. No way the ‘red’ path is 5.1 miles... lol.

A fairly easy trail with waterfalls and not a lot of others on some areas of the trail. There are quite a few connections with other trailheads along this trail also. It’s a good trail to start with and do beginner hikes to build up to more strenuous hiking trails.

love hiking here has options different Trails.

breathtaking, everyone we meat on our hike was amazely nice. The sites we saw were so beautiful and relaxingthat, that before we new it we had walked 11mails.

I mean, it doesn’t get much better than THIS!!! This place is amazing, complete with a marsh that offers frequent alligator sightings, we saw a baby one right off the overlook! And an amazing stretch of gorgeous beach with extremely convenient beach access and parking! We’ve saved so much money by just hiking, sight seeing, and swimming here at this beautiful park!

Bald Head Island is a nice laid-back area with minimal traffic and great area for walking. I've done this path combined with several others over the past ten years. Well worth the effort.

Not bad for the ride. A lot of inclines and turns. Give it a try. I went on the 3 mile course twice, next time I’ll try the 8 mile

lovely

It's great for all ages. I am a nature photographer and the photo ops are perfect. my boyfriend loved it, and it was his first time here. My parents, uncle, his girlfriend, and his kids all loved it, too. We found beautiful rocks, flowers, and even a cave!

This is a beautiful place. nice trail, with 3 waterfalls. it is a very busy trail. lot's of people, using trail for tubing. I would recommend, early morning, or winter time.

Very much enjoyed hiking here. The little waterfalls are beautiful and easy to find. There’s a cool scenic overlook as well. I thought the hike was easy, but I stayed on the west side of the park and didn’t go over to the east side. However, planning on returning as there’s supposed to be another scenic overlook on that side of the park. It wasn’t clear on the map how to get over there, but they were able to explain how in the office. Overall enjoyable and scenic hike, seems like it’d be a good place for kids, too! Not too busy if you go on a weekday.
