Easy hike but long distance for me as a beginner but fun day with Becky

Awesome trail run with slight incline. The river had some great views. Very easy

If you start near Lesion Street, it's pretty much going down. Coming back you have a very slight incline. Beautiful too and well maintained. Just be careful and don't go alone. They have had issues with people on the trail.

beautiful scenery through most of the hike.

It's a good place to ride to get a good work out in if you don't have much time. It has really helped build me up to go on to harder bike trails and there is a lot of beautiful scenery and a lot of nice people to meet that makes it just that much better!

simple hike of the highway

We loved this trail! Uphill but not strenuous, large rock outcrops along the trail with beautiful views of the stream along the way. Lots of places to stop and reflect, draw, paint or photograph or take in a snack.

My boyfriend and I did this hike on 10/20/2018. We are not particularity fit people and found this trail to be quite easy. There is a slight steady elevation increase as you make your way to the waterfall, but nothing that is overwhelming by any means. Be sure to wear proper shoes, high-tops if you have them, as the trail is covered in loose rocks. There are beautiful swimming pools along the way, but it was a bit too chilly for us to indulge. The actual waterfall is very pretty, not spectacular, but worth the hike. I'm giving this trail five stars because it is exactly as "advertised" in all descriptions I read online. A perfect easy hike if you're looking to enjoy nature for a few hours without partaking in strenuous activity.

A walk in the park. Only a very beautiful park. A sunny day mid 60’s. Had the entire trail in and out to myself.

Great trail! Follows the water the whole way. Small steady incline, fairly rocky.

Well kept, wide, mostly graveled. I walk and run on this trail and would rate it easy. No obstacles, good for bicycles and strollers.

Really pretty trail that follows the river. Flat the whole way, so a very easy one. Saw fresh bear tracks along the river in a couple of spots.

Nice basic hike. Short and sweet. Pretty Falls.

Ankles currently killing me because of thousands of loose rocks of various size that are strewn all over the trail. this geature makes the trail moderately hard, rather than easy. you have to watch your every step, which detracts from being able to enjoy the scenery, etc.

Hiked this trail for probably the 5th time last Sunday. Main trail was great, but decided to take the lookout trail on the way back. Started it in the reverse direction. DO NOT DO THIS. The trail leading up to the lookout point is very overgrown and not frequently hiked. Trees down and grass up over my knees. Past the lookout spot down to the start of the trail was much better. People must go up to the lookout and go back the way the came. Lookout view is on of my favorites though.

Nice easy trail. Falls aren’t marked and you have to listen for them to enjoy. If you go further you will come to a bridge that crosses upstream.

Very photogenic hike. Can take it all the way into Bays Mountain Park 6 miles in.

Easy hike along an amazing creek with some great swimming holes.

have been doing thus trail for 40 years now every since i moved here from California. My husband(at time friend/boyfriend) and his three cousins walked it and swam at falls and along tge way everyday for the first 2 months of my moving here. It is a wonderful hike. Easy except for going back up rock steps if you take the high route. We still take the route that follows the river all the way. A flood took out part of that trail and that is why they rerouted it up the jigger trail which also makes it higher. Since you are already on higher trail when you get to the stop over for gikers to camp go to left of it and follow that trail to a pretty waterfall sliding down a huge rock not far out of way and beautiful

Echo the sentiment - a must-hike! Flat and not at all strenuous but enough rocks, roots, and fallen trees in the path to keep the walking interesting. The rare combination of easy hike, quiet/isolated, and gorgeous scenery. No restrooms at the trailhead, but the Laurel River Store will graciously let you use their clean and well-tended portajohn. Be sure to round out the day with a soak in the hot springs at the spa just five miles beyond the trailhead!

If you are going to hike this trail in the summer months be sure to wear long pants. The trail is rather over grown with stinging neddle after about a mile in. Couple creek crossings but nothing too difficult. Following the trail markers posed a bit of a challenge but makes for a decent day hike.

Mouse Creek Falls on the Big Creek Trail is a beautiful swimming hole located along an old logging trail on Big Creek. It is an easy out and back hike that is accessed by a parking lot not from the Pigeon River on the NC/TN border. It's a great hike if you're looking for something not too strenuous, but due to it's relative accessibility, can be overrun with tourists. I highly recommend it in off peak times but it also has plenty of smaller pools to play in along the route if the main falls are too crowded.

Went back today, we did kiners holler and by pretty ridge. Seen a copperhead on the way but overall it was very nice. We did 9 miles total.

Easy trail but has some rooted and rocky areas that require your attention. The river is beautiful. The ruins of Reunion aren’t spectacular.

awesome hike wore the dig down pretty good.

My 3rd trip to this beautiful waterfall and I would definitely do it again! I definitely think you should take the trail by the river, over the trail by the campsite because of the better view.

we've hike a lot of trails in the last year & a half. They are all beautiful, but this is one of my top favorites! it's an easy trail to hike elevation wise, a rocky trail, but the river views are just spectacular! The outcrop of boulders on your right as you go up are huge! It pays to come early to get a parking spot & have the trail all to yourself. The weather was the topper just a great day to be alive to enjoy this beautiful country!!

Good sight of Waterfall!
