We went trail walking in the stroller with our 3 month old. He loved it and fell asleep for at least half of the 4 mi. Batso Lake Trail. People had their dogs and it did not seem to bother anyone. The staff in the main office where the bathrooms are were very nice. Its a beautiful place to explore the NJ pine barrens anytime of year (especially during foliage time). Even in mid November we found ticks on us :O

Square to red circle trail is a great workout.

History frozen! I loved exploring here! We lucked out with a beautiful day! Trails were a blast.

Very beautiful views of the Batsto Lake

I did it in peak fall. So it was spectacular.
I started with the Blue trail which is quite steep and has several rock steps. Stopped at the lodge and had my lunch on the patio overlooking the Delaware valley. I took the White trail to the parking lot. It was a gentle walk that passes the remnants of an abandoned farm. On the return I took the Red trail. It descends quite rapidly but the trees were at peak fall so it was heavenly. There is an extended walk in a valley before the ascent back to the white trail. The ascent is steep and rocky and I had to pause for breath several times along the way. You reach a meadow and the road. I took the road to the parking lot by the Blue trail.

it was beautiful and hard work!!!

ps no bathrooms or water fountains.

This was a great trail! Trail markers were crystal clear. My only disappointment was I didn't see any waterfalls (pictured in the trail description). But I'll definitely be back.

Started nice for the first hour but the last two were boring as hell and made it feel like it lasted days.

Deciding where to park was tough but a fellow hiker helped us out. Trail was fun.

Easy trail, great for trail running.

beautiful views and serene

Alternated between the red and white loop with a different starting point than marked on the map. The trails are relatively well maintained and there are a couple of nice findables (old pump house on lake, abandoned clubhouse) along the way. If you’re looking for picturesque views, this isn’t the trail for you, but it’s a nice well marked hike otherwise. Definitely a little more elevation than stated in the description.

Great trail with moderate inclines and declines, great for the beginner!

Nice quiet trail

A good day hike and you can see all the high points in 1 go. The bolder formations are great and after the first steeper start, it levels out near the top if you start from the right. The left side has a gentler slope as is good for pets or an easier climb. I'd reccommend going to the top trail, it is a beautiful route.

Great trail, not too far from Philly.

beautiful trail, but not marked well. got lost lol.

One of my favorite hikes in the Princeton/Hillsborough area. Easy to get to and beautiful trees, boulders, and view on the straight away down.

For the most part this trail is easy. There are certain parts that have a pretty rocky and steep climb, but nothing that challenging. Not very scenic, but a nice starter trail if you are new.

It’s a cool trail there are spots on the trail where the markers are confusing but really hard to get lost, just walk down hill to re orientate. I’ll go back because I wasn’t able to complete the full trail due to confusing trail markers I ended up taking a connection trail cutting about an 1hour of my hike short

Hiking, birding and geocaching what more does a little old Forester need

nice terrain variations and degrees of difficulty, beautiful woodland scenery

Perfect for taking a stroll and listening to the waves.
