Easy trail around the reservoir. Felt safe by myself.

Great hike. Started at West Lane entrance. Went left at fork and took Blue/Red trail to Blue trail. Nice scenes. Great peak. Took Blue up to Blue/Yellow and cut back across East to starting point. AllTrails said we hiked 4.3 miles and burned 1431 calories. NICE. Definitely got a great workout. Would highly recommend. Can't wait to go back and do full loop.

A really awesome trail with great views. It would certainly be a 5 star review if the trails were marked better. Very easy to get lost. I have The AllTrails Pro and it bailed us out a couple of times.

As said below the Mattatuck trail stretches from Wolcott to White Memorial Preserve in Litchfield. the trail ends there and continues again further north heading all the way to Mohawk Mountain.!!!

Took the Beaver Pond Trail. Great educational hike for the kids. Then stop off at the main building and look at the exhibits inside,

Not bad for after work. Some sweet single tracks that are unmarked off the main trails.

Easy and mostly flat trails, some elevation change. Good shade coverage and the falls are a lovely sight.

Quite a picturesque hike with plenty of views, but difficult to follow the trail markers, and most of the maps along trail heads are missing.

Really enjoyable hike with kids.

Trail was not marked at all so very easy to get lost. Still an enjoyable walk with some great views of the reservoir.

Moderate very rocky nice clear walking area though, however missed the turn down to res but kept walking down coop. It’s good if you can find the right path and there is. I wash always.

I'm sure the trail(s) are incredible. But with ZERO trail markers, I can't tell you. The trail map at the park is a piece of wood wolith no markings at all. Walked roadways for an hour and saw nothing other than the same cars and people apparently looking for the same thing.

I did this hike with a friend for the first time and really got an intense workout. Such beautiful views overlooking the reservoir. Some rocky and steep inclines and we ended up a bit lost until we used our handy dandy map offered with this app to guide us back. We hiked a good 3+ hours and felt invigorated.

This beautiful, and short trail (about 45 mins around) is a nice relaxing walk with a few moderate ups and downs and great sights of the lake up close. Perfect trail for sunny days and is mostly shaded. Don’t take this trail a day or 2 after a rain storm unless you don’t mind muddy shoes and ankles. In this case the higher elevation trails aren’t muddy.

for the casual hiker it's a bit harder but worth the workout.

nice trail, walked our 2 dogs there....good shading, not too hot.

Nice experience

Great hike. Mostly flat but some small ups & downs. Good relaxing stroll with great falls. My son & I hiked the orange (main) trail out to Big Falls and it was gorgeous! When you get to the end of the trail, walk up the road about 300 feet and the trail continues on the right. Falls are right beyong the parking lot & field. They can be accessed even if you don't hike.

Went on the red trail around the pond with my 9 yr old . Was nice and easy and still long enough to feel like a good walk

Beautiful area and really nice trail. If you walk off the path a bit you can find some great and safe cliff jumping areas, very beautiful views too!

This was my first Solo hike and first hike I have done in about 8 years, it was easy enough for me. The trail was clean and clearly marked. The markers were clear and easy to read as long as you knew what you were looking for (make sure to Google how trail markers work if you are new). The terrain was mostly easy, there were a few parts that you had to climb up or down some rocks but nothing strenuous. it is a bit rocky in some spots but I was fine in a pair of all terrain shoes.

We took the red trail around the lake. While it did keep you extremely close to the water, this was one of the most awkward trails I’ve done. There was food and fishing trash at almost every look out point. It was much rockier than I thought even after reading the reviews. But the worst part was that after walking through what felt like bunch of back yards - the trail just ends with a big fence blocking you and you have to walk on a busy road back to the parking lot. I had my dog who loves investigating everything. It’s a bit narrow, no sidewalk. It was a tough one. That really sucked.

Great for a hike, walk, or run. Trails are designed for hiking, walking, or running depending on where you go. Great for Nature walks with small children. Would recommend this to others!

great everyday hiking/walking trails. if you go to the trails on the right huge fern field in the woods

Super cool hike, with numerous blazes and trails throughout to make it easier or harder for what you may prefer. Castle Craig is unique to see, but the Blue Blaze trail offers some cool scenes of the reservoir.

Not much there is to see but perfect for a jog or walk.

Had an absolutely beautiful hike here.

Super pretty and such an easy trail! One of our favorites
