First time on trail with my daughter. Took a compass just in case, and it proved handy. (The trails were covered in leaves and we kinda got a little turned around at one point; but it wasn't a huge set back.)

Will definitely visit again in another season.

This is a great trail in the fall with super foliage and good views of the bay. Be careful in the summer tho. Lots of mosquitoes!

Rugged but fun. Careful traversing this park as you could get lost if you don’t pay attention. My favorite place to hike !!

short, with some what of a steep hike with an amazing view. would be nice for a picnic.

Always a nice hike, 3.8mi if you hike back on the road while the rest of the party hikes to the store for ice cream :)

Nice walk along the river. Bring bug spray for the wooded areas.

My daughter and I enjoyed this trail. It was paved throughout and fairly level. Not strenuous but a nice scenic walk along the Genesee River. The bridge was nice as well.

Always enjoy this hike any time of year except spring but only because the black flies will eat you alive.

This trail has lots of ups and downs but I would rate it moderate. Beautiful trails and great views of the Bay.

Great trail! Pretty simple trail but love the bridge walk across the water.

Short walk and easy for the kids and dogs. Tick repellant recommended, and watch out for yellow jackets as there were a few casualties. Otherwise nice relatively easy hike if you don’t mind the mud. Little waterfall made the kids happy.

Muddy in some places but a nice little hike.

Well marked out and well traveled/ beaten path. Close to roads at times. Plenty of wild life around.

Not a well marked trail. and close to houses and a couple farms. Although there is a abundance of wildlife to be seen.

A very nice trail! Well maintained and easy to tell where the trail is as it is marked consistently with green markers to lead you back to the entrance where you started.
Watch out for the occasional horse poop though!
I was also able to spot 6 Deer in the woods. Thankfully, no bear at all.
Great change in terrain and a good opportunity for trail runners. Overall, very enjoyable trail with decent views.

(P. S.) The waterfall really doesn’t exist.

Fantastic hike! Roots, rocks, earth underfoot. Not difficult other than steadily steep with a few level parts. Take your time, it is a short hike and well worth the effort. Incredible views. Rock formations atop are incredible! This spot is a false summit as there is a trail heading out to the real summit which has a 360 view. We opted out this time. Wish we did not but there’s always tomorrow!

Thought be more rock scrabble .. decent trail condition nice view

Awesome,it’s a must go to. Definitely recommend this hike

Hiked up on 6/1/18 and camped until 6/3/18. Lots of caterpillars at the top but it was a nice hike with beautiful views!

This was a great hike. It was steeper than I would have expected a kid friendly hike to be, but the payoff was worth it. The caves and rock formations are awesome, but you won’t be able to take full advantage if you bring a dog, unless you have someone to take turns holding the leash with you. The view is great at both Chimney Rock and the actual summit, but it is truly spectacular if you are brave enough to climb on top of the rock formation next to the chimney. The caves and Chimney Rock had a lot of traffic, but we were the only ones who traveled on to the summit. It is only about a 1/4 mi flat hike farther and was worth it. My kids had fun finding toads in the woods on the way up and down. Probably about 20 in all which was good for distracting them briefly from the steepness of the trail. My kids are 6 & 8 and do a moderate amount of hiking and this was rough for them, both up and down.

There is a $2 cash parking fee at the lot. Luckily I had it on me.

Spur of the moment hike but it was good! Super steep in parts but if you take your time it’s easy. Lots of rocks and tree roots to use as steps and to give you traction. For being in what I felt like was the middle of nowhere, the trail was quite busy. No bugs. Took 50 minutes up, 40 minutes down. The top is neat with caves and rock formations. I’d do it again.

First time hiking in Mendon Ponds Park, there is a variety of trails to choose from. Choose the East Esker Trail due to being a moderate trail that is dog friendly with hilly terrain. The trail was better than expected, a great workout! Did not see any waterfall, but there was a swamp & a pond. Definitely coming back in the fall time for the foliage!

The only downside was the horse poop in the middle of the trail, but the dog enjoyed smelling it!

Great walk! Went from Turning Point up to the Port of Rochester for ice cream with the dogs.

I went on the White trail at first and then went on the Red trail so I could have a view of the bay. My mom and I ended up getting lost, but we had a fun time. There was so many bugs.
