Absolutely beautiful!

The snow is hard packed out to the falls which are iced over and beautiful.

We loved this hike today. I wish we could have finished it, but after the first few miles it got too icy to attempt in just hiking boots, so we didn’t make it to Comet Falls. The part we did was beautiful and we’d like to go back with the proper equipment. The is some snow on the trail but it would be passable if not for the ice toward the top.

Enjoyed this trail back on October 20, 2018 beautiful views of Mt. Rainier..very popular trail for tourist. Great picture opportunities. Parking and Bathroom facilities.

The trail is covered in snow about half way up the trail. Crampons and poles recommended if planing to summit.

The trail is covered in snow and can be slippery in quite a few places. If you have spikes or crampons that would be best. Be prepared for the cold and wind with plenty of layers! Saw a lot of people hiking in the dark without headlamps/flashlights, if you’re going later in the day be ready for it to get dark fast on your way down. Gorgeous view at the top!

Some of the best views I've ever witnessed. The view when you have Mount Rainier to your back around Panorama Point is the best view on the trail but there's also a beautiful waterfall. Highly recommended!

Beautiful view of Mt. Hood from the top, and a terrific spot for a picnic. When we hiked this trail back in March it had a lot of ice and snow, so I would recommend micro spikes and trekking poles. My only complaint is the lack of parking. We parked down at the ski area, and had to walk along the highway; Very unsafe.

My wife and I drove from Olympic NP in the morning (after spending the week there) to do this hike before catching the red eye out of SEA and we are so glad we did. Amazing scenery with lots of wildlife (we counted 17 marmots) and wildflowers (past peak but there we still some stragglers). Since it was later in the afternoon it was actually pretty quiet and secluded once you got away from the crowds at the visitor center. One of our favorite hikes of the week.

Very busy trail. Small parking lot with not many other options to park nearby. Great views of Mt. Hood and surrounding moutains

Started at south trailhead and scrambled up the rock at the top. A clear day is a must for the incredible view!

Absolutely Amazing when you reach the top!

Lovely new trailhead and bridges, much better parking situation though sure to draw even more weekend crowds but on this foggy Fall morning I had the trail to myself. A worker told me the Grand Opening for this new trailhead is this Friday Nov 9th. The new trail veers away from the highway fairly quickly, thankfully. Snow started at 4500' today. About an inch was covering the ridge (Tom, Dick and Harry) making things slick. Highly recommend having boot traction of some kind and trekking poles at this point.

This was a beautiful trail. I went with a large group of CrossFit folks. The ones leading were pretty competitive, so the pace wasn’t great. I’ll set the pace next time and try it clockwise for something different. Also doing it in October, you miss the beautiful wildflowers.

the roadside trail head is closed permenantly. do not park on the roadside and walk over, there are trees intentionally blocking the trail at a few points. new trail head is at skibowl. There is a lot visable from the road and they were even nice enough to add some facilities

Beautiful hike! Most people had dogs on leash. There was one off leash that ambushed my dog despite me shouting "recall your dog" because owners had no control. Reactive dog owners beware, a lot of this hike is very narrow.
Great hike, very scenic everywhere

Completed August 12-13 2018
Camped Hiked up twice

Awesome fall hike. Spectacular wilderness views along the way. Going to be sore in the morning!! Great job for the crew that cleared the downed trees

Really nice, solidly moderate skill level, well-maintained trail with some terrific views of Mount Hood and, on a clearer day, many of the surrounding peaks. We arrived at around 10:00 am on a Tuesday and had no issues finding parking. As others have noted, we did not get a NW Park pass, as it is after Oct. 1.

This is a pretty crowded trail (parking lot jam-packed at 2 on a Monday) and a decent hike with some great views. As others have said, the crowd thins after Mirror Lake. For me, I'd rate this hike on the easy side, and after doing other hikes around the area, I wouldn't drive the 3 hours roundtrip for this hike again. Still, if you're nearby, it's a quick way to see many peaks. As for the forest pass, on the government website it says the pass is only needed until Oct. 1st, so I didn't get one and had no issues.

Hike with fantastic and unbeatable views - Rainer, to the south (Cascades, Adams), waterfalls. Didn’t the hike in 2.5 hours, with a bit of time spent on photos. Went through 0.5L of water. Plan on 1L at least. Very doable in a short period of time. Colors are past peak, but still quite nice. Only about 10 cars at Paradise when I arrived at 9am (Monday)

amazing views and the falls are awesome!!!

A fun trail with a rewarding view! Just be sure to turn left at the pile of rocks near the top. Got tricked up there for a second ;). If you continue further down along the rocks at the summit you can find a nice little point away from most of the crowd

I was not in shape to do this hike, but I'm glad I did. Spectacular views of Mt. St. Helens!

great hike!!! loved it.
get there early there is very limited parking at the trail head.

Really awesome trail with views, and so accessible being right off the highway for any car (forest pass required).

Definitely agree with other reviewers that it’s worth it to take the trail around mirror lake on your way up or back, up to you, and if it’s not too choppy you get an extra beautiful show.

Trail was super well maintained and wasn’t as busy as I expected on a Weds afternoon. Crowd thins after Mirror Lake (trailhead you park @ is Mirror Lake Trailhead). Gorgeous fall colors right now too!

This was such a fun hike! My friends and I are definitely not experienced but we were all physically capable of this hike. It was a bit more challenging than we had expected but we were still able to hike up and down in around 3-3 1/2 hours. Mirror lake was fun to stop and take some photos. We had beautiful weather. The views were spectacular! Will suggest and do this hike again!

This was a beautiful hike but definitely difficult. If you’re not a frequent exerciser in great shape, I’d say try something else. The incline was pretty intense with not a lot of flat area breaks. Not sure I’d say the view at the top was worth it but it was nice to look at.

amazing views! I'm so glad I went, and persevered until the top!
