Great trail for easy hike. t
The start of trail will bring you to a awesome view from to see part of whitesand. Is a bit chilly during Nov period, but good for relaxing the mind.

Great views, lighting was perfect against the mountains in the morning. Fall weather was perfect-cool, but sunny. Trail is fairly narrow and a little overgrown thanks to recent rains. Saw three different tarantulas.

This is one of my all time favorite trails and I make it a point to hike it whenever I'm in the area. It's easy, well maintained and beautiful! My favorite part is the small meadow that the trail runs by at the far east end of the loop. There's a bench there as well and I usually spend a good 15 minutes just sitting and enjoying the view. If you make it during the fall you will see some beautiful fall colors. I just hiked this today (October 30th) and there was still quite a bit of color on the trail, definitely the tail end though.

Beautiful trail and well maintained. A nice short hike with enough elevation changes to make it great exercise! That clearing where the trail intersects with two others made me think I’d wandered into a Disney movie.

Did this hike late in October , spectacular scenery and streams were running from recent rain , go to the left at beginning of loop , other hikers told us this too and it seemed like the better way , took us 3 hours to complete , not in a hurry cause we were taking lots of Pics

Trail follows through the woods for the most part, but there are a couple of places with a view. On 10/14, fall colors were just starting on some trees while a lot of the aspens had already dropped most of the leaves. Good for a quick, easy hike.

Enjoyable hike with pretty views. Trail is well-marked. It is uphill for the first half, but not too steep or difficult. We finished in about 3 hours going at a leisurely place and stopping for lots of pics.

My friend and I attempted this trail on 10/15, but only ended up making it to the saddle due to time constraints and because we were pretty much smoked by the time we got there :) We used the AllTrails map and did not have any navigation issues. There are a few stray trails in the lower desert portion, but the cairns will generally keep you on track. Take everyone’s advice and wear pants as the trail is very narrow with a lot of cacti and other prickly plants along the way. Lots of scrambling and very steep once you get to the mountain. Also lots of loose rock, so you have to be careful on the way down. We enjoyed the portion of the trail we did, but come prepared for a workout!

Just challenging enough, the views were awesome.
Lots of lose rocks that will roll out from under your feet. There was quite the elevation change in a short time, kept my breathing and heart rate up.

Awesome views and trail. Bring your water did this early and enjoyed the sunrise. Bit of a challenge but trail in good condition.

One of the most beautiful trails in Aguirre Springs. Although it was a rainy day, we enjoyed a lot the astonishing vistas of the pine tree forest and the rock formations, a wonderful landscape!

There are 5 parking spaces outside the fee camping area, but if those are taken just speak with the campground host and say you just want to hike. This is a beautiful loop trail, not too strenuous, although there's a bit of an uphill climb in places that might get your heart pumping if you aren't acclimated to the elevation. You aren't too far off the road for much of the hike, but there's still a feeling of quietude and seclusion among the towering trees. You'll come to an operational gravel pit at one point, where you'll simply cross the road and reconnect to the trail. We found quite a few elk bones in that location. We did many trails in the Cloudcroft area, and this was one the most enjoyable for me.

Beautiful stroll through the Lincoln national Forest, fall colors just starting to come out here at the beginning of October. Some nice views of White Sands in the distance and generally accessible for those looking for a less strenuous hike.

Slightly tricky to find trailhead, it's near the group sites, and the trail fades in and out a bunch and is somewhat overgrown. My legs were a little scraped up from the overgrowth. however it had some great views. if I were to do it again, I would take the Sugarloaf route at the sign as the route more towards pine crest loop trail wasn't as interesting.

Great hike. 2 1/2 hours stopping for lots of pictures. Take breaks! went early saw the sunrise on the drive to and that alone worth it. Not a soul around, nice. Wear hike boots.

My buddy Danny and I reached the summit 9/15/18. We made it to 7,300' feet the first day, just past the highest "campsite." Took us 3 hours with ~40lb backpacks. Made it to the summit the following morning in 2 hours. So 5 hours up, 3 hours down. If you're considering this hike:
1. Don't wear shorts, you will regret it.
2. This trail is not for dogs.
3. Bring at least 5 liters of water.
4. Expect no trail the last mile or so.

The overgrowth and lack of maintenance made for a grueling final ascent. Expect to scale multiple walls. Don't expect water. Watch for snakes. Great hike.

Poles and gloves recommended.

stared out about 8, temps got to about 90, and little to no shade on the way down.

suggest starting early and watch the weather for the heat.

Different terrain, rocks, gravel, some climbing and navigation on large rocks. primarily understand your ability to do the different levels of difficulty.

there is a stram, so a water filter will assist in a lighter load about 2.5 to 3 miles. I will personally do that next time.

overall fun hike, heat was a test, and the earlier the better. total workout from the get go. be prepared to get the cardio in.

I enjoyed the hike. I only made it to the plane wreck, but it was beautiful up there.

wonderful experience

Great hike, make sure you have 5 dollars exactly to pay for parking at the station, it has to be left in an envelope. It's very easy to get off the trail, so pay attention.

A lot of brush overgrown in the trail, don’t wear shorts. Also, I am fat and almost died I think. Other than that it was great!

Took the pup on a trail run. Went about 2.5 miles up before the pup got tired. First 3/4 mile is a grind but with switchbacks and then becomes a little more gradual once you enter the canyon. Great hike late in the season! Take water!

God is good !!!

Great hike. Easier than I thought, but still quite tough. Trail to Narrows, and after that till end of small canyon (from a big boulder with a big stone cairn, you follow the bottom of a narrow side canyon) is relatively easy to follow. From there to saddle / ridge and then to the summit is often unclear. Took 3h10 to get to summit. No other People. Most amazing views! Did this hike in August, nice cool breeze at top, while in Las Cruces it was 100 degrees. Leave early though.

Beautiful scenery! Great to do early in the AM. Some parts were strenuous, but overall good hike! Breathtaking view at the highest elevation.

Very nice easy trail with some great scenery. We even saw an Elk towards the end of the walk.

Love this trail, but be aware when the snow has come down. The snow sometimes melt and freeze over. It's not the safest when you're on an icy edge and not prepared.

Great trail. Beautiful canopy on most of trail with some beautiful meadows. Saw elk tracks, wild flowers and wild strawberries. Will be a go to trail for us for future outings.

Easy and pretty trail. It is well marked. The only section I would call "moderate" would be the last 1/4 mile or less with the steady incline.
