Really nice hike with nice views of Mount Garibaldi that will help to wait before reaching this stunning Watersprite lake. I would rate it moderate, only the end in the rocks is a bit hard. We manage to pass with a 2WD V6 Silverado but we were close to turn back because of a big crack at 6.5k before the end. The road to Elfin Lake is an highway compare to this. I'd say the drive to the trailhead is harder than the hike :)

did this hike with a friend on a rainy Sunday afternoon and need to do again as we took a wrong turn. have to disagree that the trail is well marked as some of the marker posts have been vandalized and you can't see the arrows. we took a wrong turn and ended up on the Brohm creek trail not the lake trail, descended a huge rock hill and had to climb back up it. as I had just discovered this app I didn't think to use the map and was trying google maps. when we finally did use the app it saved us and got us back on the right path. thanks!!

To save some time, and skip unnecessary elevation gain we took a Jeep and a Truck up... and ... well... aside from an incident with the jeep (lol it's in the vid)... 2 of us attempted Brandywine Peak... which ended up being a night hike back with a lot of path finding, getting lost, and maneuvering scree in the middle of the night as this is not really a hike with "trail markers". Good times!

The adventure for all those interested:

Always great to explore new places! Just did this a few days ago (half of it at night!) and... I guess we are just at the cusp of winter conditions there as it was snowing the night we got there!

A comical view on the experience here: https://youtu.be/YDrp21rOvrs

Amazing views , great challenge

Awesome views, but road needs 4x4 and high clearance. The trail itself is not too long but steep and partly slippery.

Lovely views of Brandywine Mountain and the surrounding mountains. The hike itself is tiring but not overly challenging. My one complaint is the lack of signage or trail markers. If you are able to drive up to the lower lot you'll be fine as this area has a sign posting near the entrance of the hike and markers throughout. However, if you have to walk from the further lot prepare to be lost often. There are no markers or signs and plenty of forks in the road.

Beautiful hike as always. Minimal bugs this time of year. We had a close encounter with a black bear on our way down so be careful!

Fantastic trail with glacial caves, alpine meadows, incredible vistas. Fairly difficult ascent. Plan on 4 hours up and 1.5 down. Bring lunch! You will need the fuel.

Bring Lunch! Beautiful trail, captivating the whole way. The lake and glacier were such an amazing prize to reach.

Beautiful lake but to popular

Impossible to find the trailhead based on description so I’ll make it clear. At the TR 200 mark, if you have high clearance and 4 wheel, definitely keep driving up the main logging road to the right. If not, park and start walking up the logging road. The trailhead is about 50m past the 9.5 km mark. There is a orange diamond further down that is deceiving (around 9.4). That is NOT it. They have spray painted 9.5 in blue and orange at the top of the steep grind. Keep going a bit further and you will see 3 or 5 orange diamonds on the right. That is the trailhead. After that it’s very well marked. Did it with our chihuahua in about 2 hours. Would definitely try the hike up to mount brew past the lake.

Great views. No bugs today! No hordes of people.
Hiked from lower lot to summit. 7hrs roundtrip including breaks. In hindsight, I should have parked at upper...but I stuck with the familiar and needed the extra workout!
For those going to the meadows only. I recommend the trek to the top of the scree slope. Great views from there. The extra hour to the summit from there adds a few more views but the work/reward ratio isn't as substantial as that first slope from the meadows.

Overall, wonderful picturesque lake destination. Be aware that there are lots of boulders..... you require high ankle support hiking boots if you are camping and carrying a heavy backpack. A nice variety of terrain. Long stretch of boulders during the trek and also when arriving at the lake.... the boulders are very technical to get to the camp site. We saw lots of dogs on the trail. Oh, final thing, there is a newly painted and beautiful hut! A special shout out to the BCMC Team upgrading and working hard at making the trail enjoyable!

Gorgeous trail and views the entire way. Hiked today and while it was a bit busy at first, the crowd thinned out as I moved along. Very rocky downward climb at first but it levels out for quite a bit giving you lots of amazing views of Cheakamus Lake. You do climb quite a bit toward the end. It’s worth it. Not to be missed!!!

4WD HIGH CLEARANCE IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Amazing hike with a beautiful lake but do not try with 2WD

I would call this a more intermediate hike, especially compared to Wedge. It’s a nice hike with a few steep parts. The meadows up top near the lake are full of wildflowers, it’s stunning. Went swimming out to an iceberg.. had to be done!

I did this hike on a sunny day in the snow it was so beyond beautiful !! no one but us a few snowmobiles. def need a good 4x4 to get to upper level parking. lower parking will add a few hours to trek through.

Beautiful hike, completed today although a little smokey. Still beautiful views. Please note - in order to get to the trailhead you must upload on Whistler Gondola. They do not allow dogs unless they are service animals - even then I'm unsure.

Definitely worth the effort.

Beautiful. Bring water as it can get hot along the trail. Switch backs in some areas help with the slight incline.

Smokey but amazing hike! The flowers in the meadows were spectacular and even though it was smokey, the views were fantastic. Trail gets a bit muddy in spots past Conflict lake, and the last water crossing was a bit tricky but the views at Ring lake made it all worth it. Bring bug spray and bug nets if you have them.

Easy going hike. Opens up access to some nice scrambling above the lake. Also a great place for a summer swim.

Cheers

Awesome trail! Well marked and super fun. We went up from the top of alpine way instead. Took us two and a half hours to get up (9km). Pretty easy sailing until the end which was really hard to get over the rocks. About an hour and a half to get to our car.

Great trail! The lake view is worth the hike. The trail is well marked, just follow the orange markers.

You climb the first two kilometers then it is mainly flat for about three kilometers. After that the climbing start, except for the short distance through the meadow, all the way to the lake. The climb through the boulder field to the lake is not bad.

Bring bug and bear repellent. There are a lot of bugs and, although we did not see a bear, another group did.

We went up on August 6th. The snow was gone, the flowers were in bloom, and it was hot as heck. Bring extra water!

beautiful hike!! felt a little ruined by the end but well worth it

Did this hike on August 2, 2018. Difficult drive to lower lot if not in a a four wheel drive vehicle. From the trailhead at the lower lot the first kilometer is tough (steep) but doable. The trail is marked with orange markers and fairly easy to follow. But some of the markers are on fallen trees. I would recommend looking at the description of this hike on Vancouver Trails for more details of the drive to the lot and the hike. Incredible views! Well worth it!

Beautiful hike and views! The lake is amazing, not an easy hike but very worth it!

Hiked the High Note trail yesterday. Pretty busy at the start but it thinned out. Fantastic displays of wild flowers on the Cheakamus Lake side. Took 2 1/2 hours from the top of Whistler Mountain.

Climbed with my Family, wife, 9 year old, 15 year old an two dogs...great day! Drove up to Km 4 on Brew main FSR, 4x4 required, Got off trail following ribbons for an orienteering course but eventually found the trail and had a great hike! Definitely steep in sections but well marked trail. The lake was worth the effort had a quick swim and started down as the horse flies were brutal.
