This is a perfect small morning/warm-up hike, or perfect for all skill sets. There are a lot of cool views of the lake, blood mountain, and a waterfall the leads to small creek/river.

Easy trail, nice falls but I’d recommend going after rains for better water flow.

Quick walk to eaither the upper or lower falls. I would rate it as easy with clearly marked paths. Wonderful hearing the water running while walking....

Gorgeous, easy walk around the lake. Perfect for all ages, and there’s a beautiful waterfall you can choose to walk to as well while going around the trail.

Nice trail around the lake. Easy hike but pretty views.

A very strenuous but great hike. Spectacular views at Blood Mtn. Definitely print out the map from Alltrails because it's very detailed.

This is a good case of what you see is what you get. No surprises on this easiest of easy hikes. We combined the falls hike .7 miles at the end of the lake. The falls were pretty nice.

it is a tough hike out of vogel up to slaughter gap. gets easier on duncan ridge up to the AT and then blood mountain. I missed the right turn on the way down too. this route is a great way to avoid the insanity of the Byron Reece trailhead.

decent trail. clean. family friendly.

This is a good walk, but not my favorite. It's helpful because at least 4 or 5 trail heads sit ON this loop. But, as a stand alone, it's only worth it for the mountain shots across the lake and there's lake activities you can get into. It's not my favorite because the begining of the loop, you have to walk past secluded cabins, right next to the road just to get to the trail head. Which defeats the whole purpose of a nature walk. There's also a water recycle plant right on the loop, so it smells terrible when you're close in proximity to it

decent trail, cool, woodsy, quiet except for swimming area.

the amount of water coming from the mountain is based on the rain fall so sometimes this falls is pouring out water and sometimes a trickle but still a nice easy hike

Short but nice trail.

It's a nice walk in the woods. It's not to long. Getting to the lower falls does have some incline, but nothing serious. The upper falls are a breeze to get to. I like the fact that it doesn't take forever. It's a good date hike. Carry a bottle of water. The Georgia humidity is crazy right now with all the rain.

It a neat short 2 mile hike to 2 small waterfalls.... 1 from the lower loop and other from the upper one.

The lake, view, and waterfall are beautiful. However, the hike is not very rewarding. It is very short, you are always close to a road and traffic, and the waterfall is close to a water treatment facility. You are never more than a few yards away from very loud mechanical noise that feels out of place in the beautiful area.

Beautiful, but very short

The trail is actually 8.5 miles (Website), and challenging beginners. We missed the right turn on Duncan Ridge trail and made a right on a blue trail walking a mile in a half off trail to Bird Gap. We had to turnaround to get back on course. Loved the hike, I would do it again, but taking my time not to missed the right turn.

very well marked and maintained trail. i do advise if going hiking in the rain. the trail likes to keep alot of standing water on the marked path. other than beautiful trail.

Neither trail is closed. We went today 07/08/2018. Definitely worth seeing both falls. The upper fall is the best one and you’re able to climb up into the fall. And there are several places along the way to let kids get into the water which is cold but feels great on a hot day.

While to waterfall was beautiful it was not a walk in the park. You have to climb down an unofficial trail to get to see the waterfall at all. Also it’s a loop style trail but everything past the rappelling wall was so overgrown it wasn’t possible to walk.
