Very beautiful lake on top. Saw small bear early in AM when we got to the lake. Early AM the wildlife is very abundant.

The North Rim trail was a good hike. The trail had a lot of big rocks in it. I'm glad that i was wearing my hiking boots because I could have had a few possible ankle rolls. From the cliff side I could see the forrest floor really well because it is winter time and there is no tree foliage. Unfortunatley, there was no critters for me to spy on from above.

Nice easy trail. No views from the top- it is a clearing in the forest. The stone patio in the shape of Arkansas with the river and different geographic areas represented by different stones was neat to see but you may not appreciate it unless you look to see it. My kids got excited about the geography representation in the patio there.

In this side of the park, Alberta Falls is the entrance location to most trails. It’s very pretty, but there’s definitely a lot of foot traffic.

Whenever I go hiking, I zoom right by because there’s always so many people. The further back you get into the mountains, there’s (obviously) less and less people.

Great short hike, but bummed that there is no view at the top.

If you can get off the beaten path in this area of Rocky, this is pretty close. Join up with hikes to other lakes and make a day of it. Beautiful!

Did it to say I stood on the state's highpoint. Nothing spectacular.

Great Winter Hike!!
We started ~1mile below the trailhead due to the seasonal closure. We took the trail over to the historic camp, then we went up to the lake overlook and turned it from there. Gorgeous views and very easy terrain. Since it was winter, we left the trail a number of times to explore the area.
If you're a backcountry skier, this is an amazing spot. Climb would only take a couple hours and the lines are spectacular.

Some of the best views in the State of Arkansas. Trail is easy enough for most people and the drive up the mountain is great too. Do this trail during fall if possible.

Fun easy hike for the family!

Had a great time with great views! Not a difficult trail. Few places to do some rock climbing if you’re into that. Over all a great trail

I love to hike in with my inflatable paddle board. It's a beautiful hike in and the lake is great for paddle boarding

awesome trail really fun.

We attempted this trail again this past weekend. No rattlesnakes this time!! The trail was wonderful. We had no trouble navigating it. It is definitely recommend it in the fall/winter because the views are so much better! It’s amazing how different it looks from season to season. Can’t wait to come back!

This is a quick, easy hike. The trail is wide and easy to navigate, toward the end the trail becomes more rocky and can be difficult for some. Overall, it's worth the hike and offers a pleasant view of the city.

It was definitely a moderate trail (return is mostly uphill) that anyone with basic fitness could do! A beautiful lookout atop of Goat Rock for a little snack before heading back up.

Hiked 12/3. The hike from bear lake to dream lake is our favorite in the park, regardless of the season. Today was no exception. We took snowshoes with and used them the whole time. The hike from the parking lot to dream lake could be easily done with micro spikes. From there to lake Haiyaha will require snowshoes in its current state. Less traffic on this trail and recent snow makes it loose, narrow and uneven in a lot of places. You’ll have to stay tight and inside in a lot of places to keep from sinking a falling down the ridge.

With caution, it’s very doable. We are not super experienced in snowy mountains and managed just fine. It’s worth the trip.

Little jog up to the highpoint. No view of course, but plenty of views from the roadside parking area.

Nice pit stop on the way to black lake

Great view, continued onto other trails

Nice moderate hike. The snow on the trail is well packed, microspikes were nice but not needed. Any travel off of the main trail (even by 1 foot) will need snowshoes.

Great beginning trail for snowshoeing! We went from the Bear Lake trailhead to make the trip a little longer, and it was beautiful and peaceful!

It was cool realizing I was at the highest elevation in my home state Arkansas. To bad there was not an amazing view to go along with the amazing feeling.

Waterfall is currently iced up and slow flowing. Not one of the most exciting destinations to visit amongst the Rocky Mountain trails. Would recommend traversing past and head over to Mills Lake.

Beautiful even in snow-packed conditions. The falls are mostly frozen over right now, but there’s lots of easy trails in the area. Good grips on shoes (or traction clamps for shoes) would have made it easier, but still fun! And dress warm!!!

Great view

Nice afternoon walk
