Great steep hills- super workout. You’ll see Lots of people and dogs. As you walk around the large gorgeous reservoir. All trails are paved. Recommend.

Beautiful muddy couple hours

Overrun with tourists but well worth it anyway. Fantastic views --especially at sunrise.

Nothing unusual about this hike, great walk. Really nice views and some good photo opportunities morning, noon or night.

The view is breathtaking

One of the prettiest hikes we've ever done. Beautiful views all along the way. Wear tennis shoes as the trail is quite worn and would be slippery if it was wet. Parking is very limited, so prepare to hike a bit just to get to the hike.

We didn't do the whole trail, just to the second pillbox and back down. We started around 10 and there was a large crowd at the top. I bet this is beautiful at sunrise!

simple, fun walk, beautiful falls, went swimming despite the signs

Harder hike than just moderate, but it is fairly short to the first pillbox. But holy crap it’s literally just a steep climb up rocks to get there.

Great experiences hikes up to the Manoa Falls Amazingly Beautiful of Great Green Scenically of Jungle local trees, tropical forest, Alongside ways from the started through the water fall streams lines. ARPORN GRUADNOK & TERA MOELLER, we’re enjoyed our experiences hikes. Walked through bamboos forest. Bug/Mosquitoes spray definitely need it. Parking fairly fare. After our hikes we’re went to 1 of the Hawaiian, American, British foods cultures restaurant up in the front entrance above car park walks above the bridge through the restaurant we were Keep come up to get more food ls. that’s we’re really enjoyed. The foods drinks on balcony of the top trees restaurant had clearly white noodles soup. Our on the way home we’re stop by to have Vietnamese soups the broth was good. The restaurant located close in to Waikiki cities.

super pretty, went swimming anyway at the base of the falls, so so so lovely to look around on your way as the trail is pretty easy and lets you sightsee

You get what is advertised.

**Question**
Sorry not a review, but do you need actually permit to do this trail? Can any resent hikers comment on this?
Thanks.

Beautiful loop with stunning views and some good climbs to get your heart rate up. You can also do a 4 mile portion of it, if you take the paved reservoir trail for 1.25 miles and then take a connector trail up the hill.

Tip: Do this one in fall or winter and skip right after a rainfall since it will be too muddy.

Awesome vegetation. Beautiful hike. Paid $5 for parking at a nearby snack bar place. Had restrooms and a place to wash off your shoes. Was a little muddy (December) and slippery in some places.

Be advised - the parking lot is temporarily closed for renovations.

Lovely short hike up to the amazing falls. $5 for parking at trailhead and was fairly busy on a Monday 10th December. The path is very easy to follow and is a little slippy at times and rather muddy.

Took my 4 year old on this today. She did amazing. The views are breathtaking

Muddy, in and out of rivers, forests, all kinds of trees and flowers with a beautiful waterfall at the end! Not very physically difficult but it is slippery and that can slow you down a bit, increasing time to about 3-4 hours. So worth it! One of my favorites

So Beautiful but so heavily trafficked. Go super early on a rainy day. Very easy

what a great hike! incredible views! wear proper shoes!!!

an easy but muddy trail. beautiful waterfall at the end after a wonderful jungle like trail. saw many folks with inadequate footwear...this trail has muddy slippery spots! please dress properly and keep an easy hike fun.

If you want a hike that gives you views of the ocean and coast and not terribly touristy or hard, this is it.

* Steep from the get go. Bring actual footwear with grip
* Gets windy, people lost hats and shades. I almost did
* Past the second pill box is really overgrown. Bring a machete a wear long pants.

I went to the fourth "pill box" at the 1 mile mark is tiny compared to the first 3. (#1 is by itself, 2 and 3 are together) and after that the trail is really overgrown. I saw some folks ahead of me really struggling so I turned back as I didn't have a machete, or long pants.

It was raining and windy, but the views were totally worth it. The trail can be slippery when wet so would recommend good shoes.

Incredible trail, not too crowded and great photo ops if you are into that, especially if you aren’t afraid to adventure.

Always a fun family hike and enjoy the beautiful views!

Lovely 360 views, headed here for sunrise and was still quite busy. The trail on from the pillboxes was pretty quite. It rained while we were there and the path did get pretty slippy and would recommend shoes with a fair amount of grip. Also on the way down there is a lot of small paths branching off so use all trails to get back down. It was a Saturday and there was a guy in a car just before the trail head ensuring people don’t park there but there is plenty of parking along the road further on down.

I went right after sunrise and was the only person on the trail. It felt like I had been dropped into another world! The foliage was incredible and the views were wonderful. I would highly recommend this trail but a few things to know: 1. Bring bug-spray! There are tons of mosquitos 2. The trail is very very slippery even when it hasn’t rained in a while. It’s basically thin layers of mud on smooth rocks most of the way up. Wear shoes with grips and keep your hands free to help with balance in case you slip.

Long, winding, but paved. Friendly hike, nice views of the ocean!
