Beautiful trail and relatively easy. Start early as it gets crowded!

This is one of our favorite trails in the area. First time we’ve gone in winter. It looks so much different! I highly recommend you go in different seasons. The trail was wet with mud in some places but definitely passable. There were a couple trees over the trail that were easily traversed as well. The trail does get a little narrow next to the creek leading to the river in a couple places so watch your step.

My 12yo & 9yo easily handled it with 10 pound backpacks on. Unfortunately I didn’t plan appropriately and we had to turn back just before reaching the kilns because of time to dusk. We reached the parking lot 7 minutes before sunset. Will be going again soon.

Easy hike, falls were beautiful. A little muddy but not too bad.

Trail is wonderful but the vandalism sucks. Had my car window smashed today in the parking lot which was mostly full by the time we left at 11:30am on a Sunday.

Early morning is key if you want to avoid the crowds, even in January. The falls are beautiful, and it's an easy mild hike. Trails are clear, a bit of mud here and there but not an issue if you're wearing proper footwear.
We explored the main trails and a couple side trails that were far less traveled. You can hear the highway pretty well unfortunately, and there were a few people with dogs off leash.

Wonderful trail to hike if a bit muddy and slippery in some spots. However, be careful about parking. Three cars, including mine, were broken into.

Hiked this trail today. A little mud, but very easy to navigate. Had a blast.

this is my favorite option for when I don't have the time to drive far, but I'd really like to be surrounded by trees.

Signage easy to follow, and an easy trail to walk or run, as your preference.

Good easy to little moderate hike with view of river and waterfalls. Waterfall was gushing with water. Enjoyed soaking in mist water at upper Lookout view point.

we loved this hike. the history and relics are very cool to explore.

Hiked the West Shore trail with my 4 year old son today. Nice little walk! Plenty of parking, though we went on a drizzly, grey day after Christmas. Very easy walk for adults, with a little incline on the way back up. Challenging for my toddler, but now he will nap great. (;

Nice hike with a great view of the falls. Trails were muddy 2/3 in, but worth the walk. Pup enjoyed too.

Great walk, easy main loop. Side trails are marked occasionally not so well. The map around the trails isn’t very accurate. So make sure you have another map on a phone. Beautiful the dog loved it. Nice place to stroll not much to look at.

This was probably my favorite hike I've ever done! The forest was so whimsical. lots of foliage, mushrooms, waterfalls, and it's easy! don't forget to wear boots and bring an umbrella :)

Great trails that are clearly marked so you can wander without fear of getting lost. Trails are wide, and in most places are packed very flat and evenly. Good for walking, running, mountain biking. Only downside is you can hear lots of road traffic from Miller Road.

Easy family snowshoeing trail with good view.

I hiked the Westwood Shore Trail, next time I will take the trail to the lake, so many possibilities! I ran into to some nice people along the trail! There was a good windy climb down to the beach, but it was worth it!

Stumbled across this trail on my way home while feeling a bit grumpy, and this trail turned my day right around. Definitely feels like you get transported to another place in those woods.

The snow is hard packed out to the falls which are iced over and beautiful.

it was an amazing hike for my boyfriend and I but be cautious of wildlife. We saw a mountain lion that came about 5yards away from us.

Enjoyed this trail back on October 20, 2018 beautiful views of Mt. Rainier..very popular trail for tourist. Great picture opportunities. Parking and Bathroom facilities.

on Lime Kiln Trail

Very easy hike. A bit on the muddy side in November. The lake at the end is a far better destination than the kiln itself.

Busy trail on a Sunday, but the views of the river and falls were well worth it.

Did this hike for the first time today with my almost 5 year old. We did the whole thing (river loop and all) and it was great. Easy hike with well maintained roads. Perfect for children/families. And the kiln was pretty cool to check out!

on Twin Falls Trail

A good 3.7 mile hike round trip to the Twin and Upper Falls. The trail is well maintained and its a good workout as the trail is inclined for the most part. Be prepared for a number of steps. Good resting spots and a nice bridge to view the falls. I rated the trail 4* since there wasn’t anything too scenic or breathtaking sceneries at the end of the trail or on the way. Good workout and a refreshing break if you are looking for a quick drive from Seattle.

beautiful, just very busy trail!

Easy, pretty well maintained hiking trail. I went with my 60+ year old parents (who are relatively healthy but certainly not big adventurers) and they were okay. Overall an enjoyable experience

I enjoyed the forest view. There are some nice camera moments as you go along the trail. The hike is not difficult at all. Even some of the trail names are entertaining. It's a good one to try.
