Beautiful end to a challenging hike. I went yesterday, Thursday 20th and it was very hot out. Parking is right across and there are a few entrances that all lead to the path. Be careful on this trail and take your time. I found myself sliding down for quite a few parts to avoid slipping on gravel and loose dirt. Bring lots of water it’s a short hike but you will need it.. Especially if you also like to enjoy and explore the top. Enjoy this hike it’s easily one of my favourites I have done on the island.

While on Vacation decided to go check this hike out. At first it was scary to go on this hike seeing evidence of how some people didn’t make it back... This hike is not easy to go up and down but it’s all worth it! The views on the top is Amazing! Going down had to mostly crawl down and hold on to the ropes... If I have to do it again? Definitely I will!!!

Heard lots of island chatter about this hike and decided to conquer it. The trail head is very close to the K-hwy and there are 3 entrances, take the one to the far left.
It was dry when completed but if rainy and wet it would be much tougher. There are a few ropes and straps on the tougher incline spots, but very frayed and thin, so be wise.
The views atop are amazing and there is direct evidence that the cliffs are no joke. Tread carefully!

Favorite hike on the island with some crazy beautiful views. However, be wary if it had rained the day prior. It can get dangerously slippery.

I have a kid carrier with a kid that cant yet walk (8mo). On the third set if fallen trees i had to turn back as just challenging and didnt know how many more fallen trees there were.

Imagine would be fun if your kids can walk tho.

The trail itself isn’t pretty, so the challenge is there. It’s a short and sweet climb to the top. Awesome views of the Oahu countryside, the ocean, and the mountains. Nice escape from the heavily populated spots in Honolulu as this place is not crowded at all.

Incredibly beautiful views. Only complaint would be that the trails are not clearly marked.

Just hiked this trail. It was very slippery going up and coming back down, so expect to get dirty. The weather wasn’t very cooperative but the view was still breathtaking.

According to my GPS it was 3 miles from the base. Do this hike clockwise. Quite a few trees have fallen across the first section of the trail, which make a kid carrier a little tricky. No water fall, just a stream crossing. It does have some decent views. Kid friendly.

Hiked this one last June. Great short and steep hike with incredible views!

Short and beautiful waterfall hike. If you want to go till the end, prepare to get your feet wet. Amazing wildlife, with passion fruits, noni fruits and so much more.

As Yoonie said, this is the same trail as the Ehukai Pillbox Trail above Ehukai Beach/Pupukea.

Great starting trail! Perfect for people new to the island.

Stunning views have hiked here many many times since it's basically my backyard.

Nice short little hike with some nice views of sunset Beach. Be sure to explore around the rocks near the pillbox. come early for the hike and spend the rest of the day at the beach.

Despite the lack of waterfalls today, this was a great family hike. We carried one kid the whole way, while our three year old alternated walking/riding. Bring bug spray and wear shoes with good grip as the trail is muddy even during the driest periods.

Beautiful views! The hike itself was quite steep on the way up and on the way back it was very difficult. Hike is shaded for the most part, with minimal exposure to the sun. Therefore, it is a great hike to do at anytime of the day. The pictures come out a lot better when the sun is out versus when it is overcast. Make sure to get your manicure after rather than before this hike because your hands and nails will get dirty!

This trail gave me such a thrill! I really enjoyed it!

Really muddy going up... there was no waterfall. (A little disappointed) the views were okay, it was an okay hike.

The hike is very difficult and can be sketchy. It says .4 miles because that’s where most people stop. You can go much much further and up much steeper places if you actually want to do this hike and aren’t just going for the photo op

The forest is really amazing to walk through, straight out of Princess Bride. We unfortunately hiked right up into a rain cloud and trail down was incredibly muddy and slippery. The views when we had them were really cool but the forest was the best part.

Pretty easy hike. It can get humid so definitely bring lots of water and bug repellent. It can be get muddy in certain areas.

We loved it. Stopped so many times along the way to capture pics of the beauty. Met nice people going up and down. Highly recommend it. It is a bit muddy and you do have to climb a rope about 20 feet. Enjoy! Aloha!

Awesome Hike!!!

My family loved it!! Was definitely a challenging hike. Took two kids 12 and 9 but they did awesome. I didn’t continue past the ropes but my husband and kids did and got to see the waterfall. Although it was a trickle they loved loved the adventure. They said they felt like they were in Jurassic Park. They must have thanked us a million times for bringing them. This hike is absolutely one of the highlights of our trip so far. A few things to note. My kids are extremely adventurous and have climbing experience so may not be suitable for all children. The trailhead is a little tough to spot. It is to the right side of a house in a cul-de-sac. I was afraid it was part of someone’s yard at first. The trail comes to a y and there is a small memorial cross at this point. The falls are to the right. You would be best to pack bug spray! There are some areas that cleats and your own rope would be very useful! I had not read about the dangers of falling rocks until after we climbed. I am a little glad...as we really enjoyed our time there, although I have to admit I was horrified to read that it could be so dangerous from falling rocks. We certainly did not see or hear any while we were on the trail. pure bliss for us. The trail was dry when we climbed. I can see that if this was wet the level of complexity and risk would go up substantially!!!

Parking is very limited. Either there’s a spot or you can make one! Lol First off, bring your own rope! The first five minutes of this trail has a good amount of branches, etc. to grab onto, but as for the rest of it, there is slim to none (and you are climbing basically straight up) If you plan on going anywhere afterward bring wipes, towels, etc. you will be dusty/muddy depending on the weather.
