Uphill but paths are nicely maintained. It takes about 30 minutes to get from the parking lot to the Sugarloaf viewpoint.

Beautiful hike. Accessible for our 6 and 4 y.o. boys. Our only regret was that the pond is not accessible from the trail.

absolutely gorgeous! very peaceful. heads up that people break into cars here... we saw evidence of that today. :(

Took my daughter on this hike and it was doable for a 10-year old. The last part of the trail up to the top of Erie is a bit tricky for the less experienced. Also, as others have said, the trail system can be very confusing if you have not been on the trail before. Views were good, but not great because of smoke/haze.

We went in the fall. It was a very pretty trail, and we didn’t really see any other people

Really nice trail...well maintained! Good Saturday hike after a couple IPA at the general store!

Great hike through the trees! Perfect family hike.

We started up the trail at a little after 11am. Just one other hiker at the summit — from which the view was magnificent. However traffic increased significantly soon thereafter, including a group with a drone, trampling all over the tranquility. Boo. Still a beautiful, quick and easy hike with a gazillion dollar view from the summit. We planned to stick around for a bit and see if any eagles showed up but that was unlikely with that horrible drone buzzing around.

Lots of elevation gain. Many options and view points.

Nice lightly used trail. Very over grown at the moment with nettles and the like so wear the right clothes. Lots of elk prints on the trail. Lots of places to veer of and go down to the river.

Nice fairly easy hike with few people.

Nice way to spend the day! I took the ferry over and walked from the ferry landing, probably added nearly 4 miles to the walk, made for a great hike/walk. The area is beautiful as are the views from the top. Good hike to take a dog on.

Quick and easy hike. I think it took me about half an hour to do the loop and that was with stopping to take pictures. Most of the elevation is at the very beginning of the hike. Nice and quiet during the morning.

This is an incredibly pleasant evening walk through a great example of the Pacific Northwest Rain Forest. Well shaded with enough easy terrain and ponds to keep it interesting.

It was a nice hike with beautiful views. Really nice and easy for a quick day hike!

Great views in a short distance. Uphill with switchbacks going in and downhill going out. Good hike for those who want to hike but may not be completely fit and ready for more advanced hikes.

There is a nice view from the top making the uphill trek worth it.

Hiked 1100 12May2018, Mothers Day. Very busy at thr top and at thr lower parking lot but quiet up the hill. Trail is always well maintained but can be a little confusing if you don't pay attention. We always just stay on 215 to 228 which should take you to the top. Its a pretty steep grade to the top if you're not in the best of shape but definitely doable. A decent amount of wildflowers but nothing crazy that i saw. Always a nice short hike with gorgeous views of the San Juans, Olympics and Cascades. highly recommended

I really enjoyed most parts of this hike. The only negative being how confusing some areas were. I’m glad I had this app to track myself because I’d probably still be lost in the woods somewhere. I started at the trailhead at 7 AM on a Wednesday and there was only one other car there. On the way down there still weren’t many people. I have a feeling this place gets crowded though, so get there early!

short to medium hike. Low to medium elevation gain. Not a particularly well marked trail but not hard to figure out. 3.5 star view point at the end.

Nice easy walk. The main loop will take about 1 hr and 15 mins if you are walking.

the water is almost black but it's nice and warm.

Perfect open-sky hike. Great for kids and dogs.

Enjoyed hiking through this preserve today. Well maintained, open parking area with bathroom facilities. Great for all skill levels. Some signage, around the loop, follow arrows painted to stay on the right trail.

yes it might be almost 5 miles long but it is a walk in the park good for beginning hikers dogs and with physical limitations

I love this trail and have hiked it in all seasons! It can showcase any weather! In the rain the moss hangs heavy and intensely green! In snow, it’s a wonderland, and in spring it’s perfect to begin your hiking season with its gentle ups and downs! In summer, it will keep you cool even in intense heat!
