Ammmmazing views. Got there around 8 and there were only 3 parking spots left. Definitely a little steep at first, but slow and steady and you’ll be fine.

Yes, the drive up is long and bumpy, but the hike is so worth it. Fall colors were absolutely beautiful and view over the lake and mountains when you first start is breathtaking. Not a challenging hike at all with just a slight incline and some areas where you have to climb over some rocks. Totally fine to take kids on. There was quite a crowd when I was there, but you can park along the road, so don’t worry too much about that.

Beautiful Trail! In mid September the leaves are changing and glow in the sunlight! at the end of the trail is a beautiful waterfall The parking is small and strict but if you park at the Park just west its with in walking distance.

Beautiful trail!!! Moderate hike with amazing views of the lakes. If I’m ever back in the Snowy Range I’d definitely come back to hike this trail.

Did this hike this week on the way back from Utah. It was a last ditch effort after realizing that Hanging Lake is closed. The views are incredible especially now with the fall leaves. I would say the hike is definitely worth it. As others have said parking is a nightmare and I honestly have no other idea where there is overflow parking or where to pick up the shuttle. We got there on a Monday midday and still had to wait for a spot. Overall the hike was amazing, I would rate it as moderate and not difficult. Also if you have good boots/shoes you can venture further up the falls and find some more falls which are beautiful. Overall I would definitely do this hike again, next time to the lake!

Great hike in the fall! Parking is a nightmare... even on a Wednesday every spot was full. Sounded like there’s a shuttle service from town. Would have done 5 starts but trail head parking lot only had like 12 spaces.

It was beautiful, once we got to the top me and my friend decided to climb to the highest point we could. Which was passed the pile of boulders was the height point. Someone left a water proof container and named the peak Mt. Chuck. It had funny notes and quotes.

Beautiful scenery and a variety of views! We are 50 and not seasoned hikers but in pretty good shape . Uphill on the way to the falls.. down hill coming back. Hard and steep at times but worth the views. Saw all ages on the trail. Took about 2.5 hours total which included time for lots of photos along the way.

Absolutely beautiful fall hike! The aspens are gorgeous, and the mountains are spectacular!
The waterfall/creek at the end is nothing to write home about.
Little shade coverage, even when you’re in the trees.
The dirt road is about 5 miles and VERY bumpy- so make sure your car is ready! It’s fine in lower clearance cars as long as you drive nice and slow.

This is a great short hike especially if you leave early in the morning work shaded on the Eastern slope.

Did this hike about 5 days ago. The Golden aspen were striking and views of mountains ahead and on either side were magnificent. The falls are nice as well. It is quite sun exposed for much of the walk. We went early in morning but even then it was a hot day, but very lovely

Gorgeous through and through. Numerous crystal clear small mountain lakes dot the path up. Awesome 360 view of both North and South Gap Lakes from vantage point in the middle. CAUTION mosquitos were nearly unbearable once hiking along the South Lake. Bring more bug spray than you need.

Stunning views all the way south into Colorado from the top of the peak. Start at a time where you know you will be able to get all the way up and started back down before noon. Storms pop up in a few minutes at this altitude.

Beautiful, definitely challenging like all 14ers. To get to Mount Democrat it is steady incline for 1.5 miles before it gets very steep and rocky the last mile.
We were planning to do the 4 in the ridge until altitude sickness took two in our group out. From Lake Kite it’s about 2,300 feet of elevation gain in those 2.5 miles to the top.
We hiked it 9/17/18, no ice or snow, beautiful weather. The trail is super loose in parts but no real scramble.
The road is accessible in most cars, I have a low 2 WD and was able to get 200 yards from the trailhead by going super slow with no issue. There were cars like mine at trailhead but didn’t want to take that risk!

This was an absolutely amazing hike. The leaves are changing so beautifully which made it so much more magical! It’s labeled as difficult but I would say it’s a medium-hard hike. There are some steep parts but for the most part it’s just an uphill climb with a great reward at the end! Very clean trail, but very well trafficked. I recommend getting to the trail before 8 am (or even earlier). We arrived at 8:40 am and were really glad we came early because the hike back was pretty busy. Also, only park in designated parking spots because you WILL get a ticket if you’re parked on the side or the road. Overall, despite it being a busy trail, it’s probably one of my favorite hikes! Enjoy!

Great hike, highly recommend

Beautiful hike with golden aspen hills, blue skies, and majestic mountains in full view. Toughest part of the day is the drive to the walk. We made it in a non suv, but it’s slow, bumpy, and dusty. You are exposed in sun for most of the hike, so come early or enjoy the heat (and the crowds). But despite all that one of the most beautiful hikes ever

Beautiful trail. Lots of photo ops. Went when aspens were turning colors. Nothing like it. Difficult trail, though. Take plenty of water.

We had a blast. Not too hard but some need to pay attention because if larger rocks. Will be using this one again!

Hiked this morning 9/11/18
A good hike up, enjoyed the scenery and took pictures. I would consider this a moderate and not hard trail compared to some other ones. We had great weather this morning, cool and some sun at time. Water is really low, therefore the fall is very small.

This is a great combo of two 14ers to hit. You can make it a really nice overnight trip by hiking in to one of the campsite areas just before the split off. The second of the two is nicest and is located right next to a stream for easy access to water.

The leg to get from the summit of Belford to Oxford takes 45-60 minutes each way.

Beautiful trail! Amazing views and a perfect workout. Not too steep for those acclimating to the altitude.

Hiked 9/9/18. The leaves are turning colors and it’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! The water is low so you are able to walk on top of the waterfall and take pics on the edge of the drop off! Good workout! We clocked 5.8miles which is longer than what All Trails has as the distance. Definitely a great summer and fall hike!

Very beautiful but WARNING! Very very very limited parking. And the vail police will give you an expensive ticket if you park ANYWHERE other than that small parking lot beside the trail... even if there is no sign saying not to... not that I am bitter or anything. But the trail itself is beautiful. A bit longer than you think though.

from the parking lot to the wind break, it's a calf workout. from there, it's easy. take water, sunscreen, at least 1 walking stick. dress in layers. wind is almost guaranteed. keep ears warm.

My family hiked this today. My kids would give this 3 stars! It was a hard hike and the summit was interesting but not the most beautiful hike we have ever been on. We definitely feel a sense of accomplishment.

This hike should be listed as hard. I’m a beginner to moderate hiker, and was excited for the challenge, but this hike was much more challenging and colder than expected. My GPS may have been off, but it said I hiked 6.5 miles, and I stopped at Cameron. Multiple parts on the trail heading up to Cameron where a misstep or trip could send you down a rocky cliff. It was hard to find the trail a few times when the trail was exclusively rocks. Views are decent from the top, but we didn’t stay long because it was so cold and windy. Perhaps I was struggling with oxygen/altitude issues as well. This hike is for more experienced hikers.

Pretty basic trail. Super crowded - felt like ants crawling on the mountain. Get to the parking lot early (before 6am). Views from the saddle/summit were awesome.

Absolutely beautiful
