Definitely one of my favorite hikes. Its beautiful and adventurous.

This hike was an absolute blast! I did this on Sunday afternoon/evening and only saw two other people past the upper lake and before the boulder ridge. It was challenging but the views were worth the aches. It’s probably not wise to attempt the Pfeifferhorn if you are afraid of heights, are uncomfortable scrambling rocks, or are not acclimated to the altitude. It took us about 6.5 hours round trip with a few stops along the way and some trail running on the way down.

Also, bring some bug spray & a buff to cover your mouth, as there is an abundance of flies and gnats near the lake.

Did this trail today with my Dad. It was a lot of fun. Wear a hat & bring more water than you think you’ll need. It’s not Mt. Olympus or anything, but still one that gets the heart rate pounding pretty high.

It was nice and short with some great views and pretty wild flowers, but there were a lot of people and mosquitos. My friend went on a week day and it was warmer, we went on a cooler day on the weekend. I recommend doing that if you want the place to your self and fewer bugs.

Seriously beautifully hard hike. We climbed to the peak after work, starting at 6:00pm, and basically ran to the top by sunset. The hike down in the dark was scary but overall the hike was incredible! Beware of scree, very steep incline and bugs!

Great hike!

The hike was great but long and hard. We got to the trail head at 5:00am and it was still dark. My 5 and 8 year old made it up in about 4 hours. It took us about 2.5 hours to get down. We took almost 4 Liters of water and drank about three liters. Had a great time at the lake but we did t have enough time to explore the other lakes.

Very strenuous hike. Has to be the steepest trail I’ve done. Easy hike up to Red Pine Lake, but after that it’s vertical. I was crawling spiderman-like up to the ridge. I wish I had remembered the bug spray because the gnats around the lake are furious. Great view at the top!

This was a tough one. The last mile or so seems to just be straight up hill. But don’t let that scare you. It was definitely worth it. The turn off to the parking lot is right BEFORE the White Pine sign if you’re coming from Salt Lake, so I missed it and had to turn around. The lake has plenty of little private spots where you can sit and relax. I saw someone in a hammock up there. Maybe I’ll try that next time. It did get a little chilly once I was in the shade at the lake because you really sweat a lot going up. It was a Sunday and there were people around, but not too crowded for my taste. The bugs didn’t bother me at all on the way up, but they were driving me crazy on the way down. I headed up at 11:30 and headed down at 1:30. No snakes I could see. Yay! But I did get to talk to a couple squirrels. Haha.

Left from the trailhead at 8:30 am, and it was cool and shady the whole way. Despite it being Sunday, I only saw a few people on my way up which was nice. It was a strenuous, constant climb for 1:49 so not for the faint of heart. Not a cloud in the sky with a cool 80 degrees which made for the perfect lunch spot. On my way down, which took 1:20, A LOT of people were heading up. It was the perfect day and time for this hike. Loved it! Highly recommend it but start early and bring a lot of water or a filter.

Beautiful scenery with a few fun spots to maneuver on the trail

I wouldn’t classify this as an easy trail, though it’s certainly doable for inexperienced hikers. Make sure to go in the morning. The lake draws a lot of swimmers.

Wonderful time! Get there early to avoid crowds and traffic! Looked like people camp there too.

Be aware that the whole thing is uphill. Definitely kicked my butt! The view is very worth it and there are two smaller lakes you can get to at the top. Also, keep a look out for moose by the lakes, we were lucky and saw one!

This is easily my favorite hike I’ve done in little cottonwood so far. It is so pretty all the way up with some pretty great views of the valley/canyon road below. The lake itself is so serene and there’s a ton of places around it for pictures and relaxing. It can get breezy up there which makes it cold if you’re all sweaty, so bring a light jacket! There were a quite a few people in hammocks! We decided to extend our hike and ascent up over the large rocks to another lake above(the rock scrambling was pretty strenuous). The views from above of Red Pine also made this extra mile worth it. I will be back to hike the white pine trail here soon!

Mostly shaded so nice on these hot summer days. Lots of little things to see from flowers to little animals. Good for chilling by a lake all day with a cool breeze.

We went in the evening and saw a moose! Beautiful hike with incredible views the whole way.

One of my favorite quick hikes. We started late afternoon around 7 we got to lake Mary then kept going to Lake Martha and saw 4 Bull Moose!!! It was amazing! Then on the way down we ran into another one walking in front of us on the trail just before Dog lake.

Easy hike with beautiful scenery. Watch out fo dog poop and doggie bags all over. There was plenty of trash at the trailhead too. Please clean up after yourselves and your dogs.

The way up to the summit is very steep but well worth it. the lakes and the views were incredible.

For a bit longer hike and some great views, start at Silver Lake, up to Twin Lakes, and then over to Lake Mary. From there, out to the trailhead. It’s a quick road walk back to the Silver Lake parking. This provides a nice loop of about 4 miles and adds in some great views between Lake Mary and Twin Lakes.

Fun hike for the family. The walk in has shade and the area near the falls is a great place to sit or walk in the water.

Beautiful weather. Beautiful trail. We enjoyed this hike with our kids. The rope swing into the lake was refreshing!

Very good, very hard hike. The top is one of the most beautiful hiking spots I've ever seen, but only 4 stars because the trail itself does not have much in the way of views until you get almost to the top. The top makes up for it quite a bit, though! And you can camp up there!! Maybe next time!

Views are beautiful and the flowers are stunning as you walk up the trail. However, we went around 7pm and there were so many bugs we had to start running down. Three of us went on the hike and ended with at least 10 mosquito bites a piece. Might be worth it to endure the heat rather than a night hike, but still my favorite view.

Awesome hike, can be challenging. Passed many people resting on the way up. Take your time and enjoy, if it seems to difficult. If you're an avid hiker, you'll enjoy this one.

Be sure to follow the trail around the lake. Beautiful scenery.

Trail Running, parts of the way down, was also fun.

Went on a Monday and it was pretty crowded. I can just imagine what it's like on the weekends.

Hard and worth it

This hike is not anything close to being as enjoyable as it used to be. The first two thirds of the gradual winding elevation following a babbling brook and shaded by tall pine trees has been blocked and rerouted to a miserable straight up the hill (providing no Sun) path looking more like a Jeep road than a hiking trail. Very ugly and very disappointing. My heart sank when I saw what they had done. We had a large family group of all ages and it was still doable but too much now is a climb of little satisfaction.

I found a hat and sunglasses up near the top of Guardsman Pass on Sunday 7/8. If they are yours message me describing your items and I can get them back to you.
