Beautiful place to see some incredible waterfalls! The trail takes you behind at least 3 of the waterfalls. The trail is well maintained, slight mud were expected given there’s lots of moisture around. Great place for 1/2 day hikes and will be visiting again!

Beautiful trail. Micro spikes are necessary and enough snow most the way for snow shoes. lots of people and dogs off leash.

I absolutely loved hiking this trail, ended up hiking almost 13 miles to see the entire thing! So many beautiful waterfalls and you get to walk behind 4 of them which was incredible!! I highly recommend!!!

Hiked on 1/15/19: smooth road to TH, minimal parking, no fee to park, no bathrooms but Cascade Locks is close by. Well-marked trail with easy incline. Beautiful forest although the Eagle Creek Fire definitely left it’s charred mark. Pass under a few ugly power lines and logging road. The falls are beautiful! Nice easy hike for families.

It is beautiful trail covered with snow. Some areas are very slippery. Unfortunately, I didn’t see Mt Hood. I am not sure it is due to weather or just missing it. Lake is frozen and has lots of foot print. I have no guts to step on it.

Such a beautiful hike on a crisp winter morning I recommend this hike to anyone! So many beautiful waterfalls

Pretty icy in spots but worth it in snowshoes. Went up on Tuesday and saw 6-8 other people/dogs. Right now you'd need crampons or snowshoes, I saw a few people that turned around because they couldn't get very far. The payoff at the lake is fantastic, it's frozen over but there are some visible warm spots along the shore so I wouldn't recommend walking on it.

Great hike with fantastic views on a nice day! It was a bit steep at times. It was very doable for us in winter.

There is now a parking area that is plowed adjacent to the Ski Bowl parking lot. If it’s winter, make sure to get a Sno-park day pass.

We snowshoed, but we would have been fine with crampons/microspikes. Icy patches made it tough for folks without.

Google took us to a weird side road so the hike was quicker but was still beautiful!

Went on a Cold Sunday morning hike. We took the Kopetski trail loop and came around the back side of jawbone flats. No worries you end up on the same trail you start on. We started our hike at 11 AM and got done at 2:15 PM. We only saw two other groups of hikers until we started to head back, then it was a bit more crowded, but no problem as it’s not nearly as bad as the summer time. Dress warm/layers as you are hiking in a canyon that gets very little sunlight and it’s cold until you warm up from hiking. We stopped for a small lunch at jawbone flats and had to layer back up before we got going again. Love this place. BRING CASH OR CHECK for parking. And if you can spare it, the town takes donations too, and once you see how pristine they help keep the town and trails you’ll want to donate. Great hike for all ages and skills but the Kopetski Loop is a little more rugged and step, would not recommend for little ones or people with old knees. Enjoy.

Lots of up and down which we like. Beautiful views of the river. Easy enough for our 4 year old but not boring.

One of the most beautiful hikes in Oregon. Jawbone Flats is an incredible site to see.

Very beautiful (especially with all of the snow), but always very, very crowded. There’s a reason it’s the most popular hike on the mountain!

Got there later in the afternoon so thankfully we missed all the tourist hikers.
Great for my 2 year old but again just too popular of a site to go more than once every few years.

Trail was busier than I expected for it being a weekday but great hike nonetheless. Snow was packed down, using micro spikes made it much easier but could be done without them. Trail is in excellent condition and easy to hike. I didn’t see any dog poop or trash like other reviews mentioned but the first half mile did have orange peels dropped every few feet on the trail...

Love this hike. There was some fallen rock areas that made the trail a little tricky but totally worth the view!!! I was say this is def a moderate-hard hike, so be prepared. There is also another path that stems from this one, you’ll notice it on your descent, also totally worth the extra mileage. Great views!!!

Overall, not a bad hike at all. Pleasant meandering among old growth, great views of the Clackamas river, not too far from Portland yet not crowded...HOWEVER....the trail offers nothing truly spectacular, and about 1/3 of a mile of it is almost directly ON highway 224. The worst is the trash and sketchy tweaker cars parked at random trailheads along the way, waiting for you to leave your vehicle alone for several hours

Such a pretty hike, and the falls are amazing!

We completed this trail with my family yesterday 1/6/2019. Beautiful trail, lake was totally frozen, we could walk all the way across the lake. You have to park at SkiBowl and there are two parking lots - one for SkiBowl and other one near Mirror Lake Plaza. I parked in SkiBowl parking and I don't know if snow park permit is needed in this space.
Trail is pretty wide, well groomed and we found many people on the trail. Path from parking lot to the trail-head is well behind the freeway and I wasn't bothered by any noise from freeway. It looks like they put up new plaza, restroom and new trail pathway from parking to trail-head. Overall nice trail.

This is a great winter-time hike! We took our 5 month old puppy to experience her first snow and we couldn’t be happier. The views were amazing and there was plenty of snow to play around in.

A nice little hike with some steep sections and descent views at the top. I hiked during a damp day but the trails weren’t money at all. I’ve driven by this hike a million times and glad I finally decided to do it.

Hiking this trail in the winter is the way to go if you want to skip the crowds. It was the perfect little hike for a winter day.

Very good trail, would definitely do it again! Easy hike with young kids. Our 4 year olds walked the whole two miles and our 6 year olds said it wasn’t long enough. I suggest getting there early we showed up at about 10:30am and ran into a few big groups and a few individuals, however the parking lot was full when we got back and was filling on the side of the roads.

Beautiful with all the snow! I wasn’t as fit as I would’ve liked to be so maybe I’ll hike it in the summer. Adding snowshoes makes everything harder. Disappointed in how much dog poop was on the trail :(

Fun and semi easy 2 mile hike. Beautiful waterfall, but to get to the bottom of this fall, you will have to go down the steps at the end of the hike. There’s a nice waterfall half way up, which will definitely add value to the hike.

Easy hike for my first snowshoe adventure. I could have hiked it today without the snowshoes but wore them anyway for the practice. Great views especially with all the snow cover. I even ventured out on the lake. It was frozen solid. Highly recommend checking this hike out this time of year.

Today was a lovely hike. The undergrowth and birds have returned. There were very few other people on the trail which also made it lovely.

The hike was beautiful. My girlfriend and I hiked this trail during the summer and enjoyed every bit of the views and nature. We personally enjoyed the upper falls better than the lower falls on the loop trail due to the fact that there were a lot less people and you could just get a lot closer. The trail itself had a couple look out points which made it that much more rewarding. Both are beautiful falls though.
