Nothing short of amazing. I have done this hike four times this year but the winter brings a whole new beauty to this hike. Waterfall is mostly frozen. Beautiful take your camera.

Gorgeous trail, and best of all dogs are allowed every day!

Super pretty with all the snow. A bit steep. Fun to see people sledding and skiing down!

One of my favorite trails I’ve ever hiked!! Love the river that’s right next to you and the scenery is amazing!! Definitely a must do!!

It is a very nice hike to see some hoodoos and other formations. I also really like how some unscrupulous lowlife scum sucking bottom feeders are thinking (?) that carving their name in the rocks is the best thing to do.

Great hike! The trail is fully covered with snow once you get back into the canyon, crampons would be ideal, I was fine in my normal hiking boots, with some sliding in places. Waterfall is mostly frozen over, but still beautiful!

Most Definitely a Wasatch Favorite. I did this on Pioneer day '18 and getting up to the lake was incredibly fast but climbing up to the ridge slows you down. once you get up to where the high lakes are (or supposed to be anyway.. dried out wheb we went) you are supposed to start climbing to the right and We initially missed the turn and ended up boulder hopping to the south ridge and had to cross our way over. once the pheif was in view it was pretty straight foreward and needless to say we took the correct way down which was much easier to see from up above. I will definitely do it again but now I know where to go! my advice to first timers is pay attention once you start working above the lake and stay to the right. It will save you a lot of time and effort.

Awesome hike to bring along the puppers!

:-)

Great views and an exciting way to see the North side of Olympus.

Should have brought my snowshoes, was tempted to explore the ridgeline ...

Another time ...

Took me 1 hr to get up in the snow, with a dog, a random rappel at the first falls and a couple of stops to grab some good ol' h2o. It only took me under 30 min to get back to my car from the"top" --I like to trail run down. Would recommend.

Beautiful hike at the end of November (11/30/18). Heavy snow kept us from attempting the last quarter mile but I was playing it safe with my girlfriend. It's doable but slick. Really enjoyed the canopied hiking and rushing creek.

It was a beautiful winter hike! Definitely recommend bringing yak-tracks or crampons for the slicker parts.

Didn't go the whole way but had beautiful views and a wide enough path for people to pass. Took my dog and everyone seemed very friendly and welcomed him with pets. Not all the snow melts so make sure you wear good hiking shoes with grip.

Easy, short, loop with plenty of brush and trees for the dogs to sniff. Very busy so the pups will have plenty of friends to play with. Dog waste stations throughout.

I hiked this on August 11, 2018 with a buddy. I think it took us about 6 hours round trip. I was not expecting the pretty intense scramble across some boulders on a ridge to get to the final steep push to the summit. I kind of lost the main trail in that ridge line but kept reconnecting with it.

The final steep scramble looks much worse from afar than it is. One you get across the ridge, just take your time and you'll be golden. The views from the summit are out of control.

This is a great hike to do if you want to get used to altitude since the summit is well over 11,000 feet. Also, if you start this hike and are not feeling like doing steep stuff that requires using your hands or you are with less experienced hikers, you can top out at Red Pine Lake. This is still a fantastic hike with beauty all around.

Have fun out there, folks!

Beautiful to visit early morning with the rising sun!

Absolutely beautiful and an easy hike! The water fall is half frozen and stunning. Definitely would recommend!!

Excellent hike this morning. Predawn start to catch the sunrise from the top. Fresh layer of snow 1-2inches. The streams are frozen over enough to support my 200+lbs. Didn’t attempt the lake although it looked pretty thick. Plenty of deer to be seen and some moose tracks.

absolutely gorgeous. after a set of switch backs, you follow a stream all the way up to the falls which offers a nice tranquil sound for the entire hike. You also see some amazing views of the mountains throughout. The hike is fairly challenging in a few places! younger children probably wouldn't be the best to bring here, but older kids would be okay. One of the best hikes I've done!

We went right after it rained, so the fall colors were extra pretty! About halfway up we hit some heavy fog which was really cool, and made for a great fall hike! Haha, your pants will get wet from brushing along wet grass if you go after rain

Amazing views all the way up. Missed peak fall by a week. Trail wasn’t marked very well but it looked like all variations lead to the same point. Phone was at 1% couldn’t record down.

It is a sweet hike not very long but the beauty is worth it.

Most overrated slot canyon. Skip it and head to the spooky gulch

This is a really tough hike in the snow. We went on Sunday 10/28 and from about mile 3 onwards it was all in snow. We'd tried on Thursday and had only got as far as the meadow as the winds were so strong we couldn't even see our own tracks and couldn't find the trail. We managed to summit on Sunday but from the saddle to the hut and back again was very windy and very sketchy. If you've never done this before (which I hadn't), it's definitely not for the faint-hearted. Once over the saddle, the drops are very very steep and, I thought, very very scary. The views, however, are spectacular and the trail was pretty easy to follow. The whole thing took us 10 hours as it was slow going in the snow, so we came out in the dark. Be prepared and stay safe!

Definitely a favorite for my pup. She loves to swim at the pond/lake area at the end. One of my favorite places to explore!

My favorite trail so far for Autumn colors, I went with my friend on Sunday. Very friendly trail as well enjoyed seeing everyone out with their dogs and children. Everyone greeted one another and said good morning.

****ATTENTION****

As of October 30 Cecret Lake Trail is closed. In fact, the only road to the trail is closed for construction.
