Fantastic inner city trail. Lots of trails to explorer with plenty of surprises. Too bad it’s being developed.

Very nice hike. Took me two hours to do full loop. If you are wanting to do a shorter walk there is a shortcut midway so would probably take about an hour. Saw deer, wood pecker and lots of squirrels.

Some large trees fallen across path on the south side of road but easily navigatable around.

Nice views of the valley. Very icy use cleats. People on the trail are excellent and helpful. With nice weather the ice is only in areas protected by the trees. Kid friendly 7-12 yrs had a blast.

Went today from a quick hike. 25 minutes drive from South East Calgary. I ran into 4 people only so it was ideal for someone looking to escape from the city. great views and lots of cows along the path a bonus.

Beautiful loop, but if you're winter hiking, make sure you have cleats. Very icy right now.

Great trails, well marked. Icy in spots.

It was a nice hike. There isn't very much snow, just enough to need micro ice kleets or mini spikes.

It’s a long walk. Lots of areas without shade. If it’s a hot day, make sure you bring sunscreen and lots of water.
We did this one in June. Our dog loved it; she is a short-hair. My friend’s great pyrenees dog got rashes because it was too hot for him.

Love this place

Well maintained. Easy access from Calgary.
Suitable for kids, dogs of all type and people of all skill levels.
The views are great but nothing extraordinary. I recommend for people who are looking for something easy.

Great quick hike for any Calgarian

Nice quick loop with very little elevation. Not great views but an amazing forest walk. Very little snow and ice. I used micro spikes for maybe a fifth of the hike. Definitely passable without spikes, but slippery.

As of today there wasn’t much snow, some slippery spots on the incline and declines. Good hike for beginners or young kids as it’s mostly flat, but for the short inclines they are fairly steep! Didn’t see any wildlife but there were some smaller tracks, Beautiful views and the trail is one of the best marked ones we’ve seen. Would recommend to anyone looking for an easier/shorter outing

Great family hike. Great views - head up stairs and go clockwise

Nice hiking in the city lots of different routes to take. ALWAYS follow the trail as the signs state!

Short hike for a great view. Suggest going up the stairs first

I did this hike multiple times this year walking my dog. I went a week ago and didn’t need spikes or snowshoes. It was slippery in some areas but quite dry in others. It’s a very easy hike that has some ok views.

Well-marked, good trail for both snowshoes and microspikes given conditions.

nice and easy hike. I had my spikes on so no problems with all the ice but my companion hiker was slipping and sliding a handful of times cause he didn't bring any spikes. The top of the "summit" was dry and the deeper you get into the valley the snowier it was. no need for snowshoes right now!

Hiked this trail yesterday. Was a bit icy in spots, definitely bring some yaktrax with you. The views were mainly obscured by forest, so that was a bit disappointing. Not well marked in the very beginning, but after that, easy to follow. Lots of fat bikes out, so keep your eyes peeled.

Did this hike last weekend with a friend and my dog and the last review summed it up perfectly. There were a lot of fat bikers, but not too much that made the trail a nuisance. Also, all of them that we came across were extremely nice and always let us know if there were more bikes or not.

There were a ton of cross country skiers in the area (I’m sure typical for the weekend), and didn’t have any issue. Although we did have someone at the end almost begin to lecture us about walking on the ski trail (which we weren’t, and were ensuring that we weren’t stepping on the grooved lines), thinking that we were just beginning our hike when in fact we were ending it. Other than that, everyone was respectful and nice and the trail was definitely a more easy-moderate as it didn’t require too much effort at all.

Mostly flat trail. Easy-moderate. ~2.5 hr hike.

Cute hike! There were a few nice views that broke up the hike nicely. We ran into a lot of fat bikers along the way. They pack the snow down nicely so you don’t really need snowshoes at the moment. It was well marked and fun to navigate at each map post. This hike was on the easy side of moderate, not too much uphill climbing but the length might make it more challenging for some. We were able to do it in less than 4 hours with some breaks.

Lovely wide and easy trail with nice views. There were
about 4 inches of fresh snow on the ground. We wore micro spikes but could have been done without them.

A little slippery on the hills in December but peaceful trail with beautiful scenery. Alternating between meadows and woods. Takes around 2.5 hours to complete. There are lots of forks in the road so it’s best to download the map.

Nice and relaxing hike, definitely recommend doing it counter clockwise. You can enjoy the views from the ridge more. Was a bit slippery in places, we wore yaktrax, as there was a bit of ice in spots. It was quite beautiful with the light snow falling. Loved how wide the trail was, made it nice for conversation.

Nice and easy trail with a few steeper inclines. Best to do it later in the day to watch the sun setting on top of the rolling hills
