The views are as good as it gets! We hiked on Labor Day, so lots of hikers and dogs. Not terribly strenuous and only took a few hours. The water at the lake above was cold and refreshing to swim in. I’ll definitely hike again with my dog.

We loved the hike and the tour! We took our 3 year old and 1 year old and they loved it.

Easy hike and so beautiful!

is nice place

One of my favorite hikes the way up is amazing and the caves are even cooler!

Okay, I’m from Missouri and this hike was quite the challenge for someone not from Utah. The views were breathtaking, the lake was serene and totally worth it & refreshing. Going up is a challenge as it’s rocky as you get closer to the top, and it requires a lot of leg strength. We took numerous breaks but eventually made it. It took us an hour and thirteen minutes to get down but about 2 hours to get up. The road up to the trailhead was a bit scary as you’re right along the edge but just take it slow.
Overall:
Trail difficulty: strenuous
Road up to trail: rocky&bumpy&steep

Better than I even expected! The leaves are starting to change.

beautiful falls and shaded paved trail to the base of the falls. just pass the falls there is a bridge to the left with port-a-potties..to the right of the bridge is the safest way up the falls. it is dirt narrow trail that then turns to gravel and rock. Very narrow all the way up but not strenuous. Just nerve wracking that you could slip! We took our 12 yr kld daughter and I was so afraid she would slip. people were carrying babies and toddlers and i think they were nuts!! once to the falls it ia gorgeous and fun!

Such a good hike to a beautiful, well worth view. Our pup enjoyed the walk and being able to freshen up in the streams along the way.

Fun hike, but a little misleading for first-timers. The falls—which are awesome—are within the first half-mile of the hike. On a holiday (like today—Labor Day), that section of the hike is very busy. From there, the trail along the stream is very narrow in parts, with treacherous, loose gravel drop offs. If you have little ones like us, you’ll want to keep a hand on them.
After the first mile, which is quite steep to boot, the trail evens out and is quite lovely. We didn’t quite make it to the end, but came within spitting distance—we clocked exactly 4 miles total. Plan on around three hours if you’re going to go the distance.

Short and sweet! I wouldn’t rate this hard at all, there were plenty of young children and families coming and going. Beautiful walk and beautiful falls. We love this!

It is so beautiful!! it's a very nice place to take your family or yourself for a nice walk. No parking fee.

This is my favorite hike in Utah county! It would be nice if the trailhead was marked so you know you're on the right path...I was confused for a bit before I figured out which trail to take.

What a great trail!! My pup and I went early on in the morning (around 7:45am) on a Sunday and only saw 3 other people. It was cool weather which was nice. The hike was great. A little steeper than I thought, but managed to do it just fine (gave my thighs a little burn) and my dog did it easily. The first waterfall is the tallest one (and where most people stopped and turned around). If you keep going there are a few smaller waterfalls and just amazing scenery in general. I followed the All Trails outline of the trail and it lead to a beautiful open meadow area. The trail goes on, but we decided to go back to the truck and it turned out to be a total of 4.5 miles round trip. I am happy I went earlier as when I was heading down, towards the waterfalls were the families and such. I prefer to just hike with the pup and myself so we try to do all of our hikes early on, plus the weather is nicer. Like I said earlier, it is a little steep and it's a lot of loose rocks (be careful if you aren't sure footed or have kids as it is a little narrow). I can't wait to do this hike again.

Short but fun!

This hike was amazing! The only part I didn’t live was the three mile drive on a horrible dirt road to get to the trail head. Hike itself was great. Steeper in spots than we expected and pretty rocky, but the lake at the top is so serene and a perfect reward after the hike. We saw a moose in a grove of aspens not twenty-five feet from us. So cool!

We loved this hike! We went at 9 am when the trail was cool and shaded. It is a bit steep but paved and there are benches and places to catch your breath along the way. We’ve taken small children on this hike and have alternatively let them walk and carried them.

Beautiful !!!!

great hike took my 2, 5, and 8 year old boys they all loved it and was a lot of fun was a long hike but the cave was well worth it and the view was beautiful

Hiked up to Silver Lake for the first time this morning with my Malamute puppy, Jack. What a beautiful hike and gorgeous lake!! Absolutely loved it.

Lots of friendly hikers on the trail and hikers with dogs. Great spot to take in some stellar views. Loved that there were several streams along the trail where my dog could get some water and cool down.

Took the fishing pole and caught some small brookies in the quick hour that I was there. Best of all, saw a big bull moose just 25 yards of the trail on the way back down.

Highly recommend this hike!

Beautiful hike. Quite a few dogs, which is good. Be mindful that not all dogs are on leads, which can cause some issues if other dogs (like mine) are not very social.

Saw ground squirrels, chuckars, and a bull moose grazing.

The trail isn’t well manicured, and pretty rocky in several spots. Not too many loose rocks, so strong footholds. Downhill wasn’t as bad as most considering the elevation profile.

Gorgeous!

Awesome little hike to a beautiful spot where I imagine during rainy season a gorgeous waterfall would spill off the mountain! Lots of stairs at first, followed by some mild shaded trails leading up to the roughly 80 foot high waterfall. The official trail ends here, though there are other trails that branch off of this one. If you're up for a little adventure, a steep hike / climb up the side of the mountain yields absolutely INCREDIBLE views of Sandy / Draper / Salt Lake City! Take plenty of water to drink - today's hike was at 97 degrees.

Amazing and glad I had trekking poles!

This hike was long and the drive to the hike was long. However, the lake at the top was amazing and refreshing after tat hike up. I think this is a little more than moderate but worth doing.

Took my daughter yesterday and she is 4 years old. She is an experience hiker. I would not necessarily call this a kid friendly hike. I was also back packing my 10 month son and when you have to climb the branches to view the falls...it was not ideal. However, lovely hike

Don't wear sandals like I did! Wear good athletic clothes because this hike is a great workout. There were points where I'll be honest, I wasn't sure hiking uphill all that way was worth the cave up top, but boy was I wrong! Happy to report it is definitely worth the climb. There are beautiful mountain and valley views, and the cave (thank goodness) was an amazing place to cool off on a hot summer day. Oh, and there's bacon inside (take a ranger tour, you'll see what I mean). My favorite cave in the national park service.
