Easy walk without elevation gain. Lots of dogs and people along the trail as well as bicycle riders. Veer off trail to the Nature Center and learn about the surrounding vegetation. Also fun to watch the turtles in the channel.

Nothing taxing about this trail. Weather in late October was perfect. Fall color in the cottonwood trees was spectacular. There were lots of bike riders and not too many hikers. You can take your pick of distances. Very do-able with kids and dogs (old people too)!

Wide open spaces, typical New Mexico. Poorly marked trail mostly on old roads and dry washes. Not a difficult hike but near the end uphill 1/4 mile very pebbly road glad had I brought hiking poles. Beautiful view of Sandia Mountain. Was looking for wild horses only saw hoof prints and poop. Saw one while driving through residential area as we were headed out back to highway. It was better than staying inside sitting on my butt on sunny day.

We went on the waterfall trail but it was dry. We enjoyed the views and scenery. Large logs were covering the end of the trail near the dry falls which were a fun challenge for my kids (ages 6, 8, 10, 13) to climb.

A number of different tracks here between a stream and the Rio Grande. Choice of sand and paved trail. Excellent for running. Biking too.

Steep at the beginning, overall moderate. Beautiful views.

nice trail, shaded, well maintained

Nice trail for a beginner like myself. Couldn’t find the continuation of trail past the waterfall 樂. Definitely worth it and I’ll try again soon. Plan on going during the spring runoff should be a better experience for the waterfall.Hiking boots recommend

Small trickle of water. Perfect to attach a baby on you and walk to the falls and back. Wouldn’t go further then that with a baby. Saw lots of dogs. First hike I’ve done here since I moved from California. Reminded me a of Ojai and a little bit of home. Would like to know when the falls have more water.

Great hike for kids and dogs. Nice and shaded most of the way. The cave and the trickle falls are a nice little sit down spot for a water break.

Small trickle of water, nice greenery, and overall good little hike.

Nice quiet trail with butterflys and hummingbirds . Falls are trickling today.

Quick and easy. You can walk to the top of the “falls” and get a pretty view as well.

Fairly steep first mile and a half or so and then downhill the rest; definitely more challenging than I had anticipated. The views were really pretty, you gain about 1,000 feet so towards the top you're high up and get good views of all the gorgeous mountains around you!

Quite steep incline and lot of elevation gain for not great views. Trees are nice and a good amount of shade.

First half of the hike went steeply up and the second half steeply downward. Didn’t expect it to be so challenging, though the views were worth it.

The area will need a lot of rain to get that waterfall going again. The creek above the cave is barely trickling. My app measured .6 miles to the cave o/w.

We did the trail at 7am in July, and it was very quiet and shady. Although the terrain is a gentle climb, there is a lot of crushed rock, which would be challenging for those with balance problems. Worth it to proceed past the falls, but there is a short, steep incline that would be difficult for children.

we are doing this trail with the wellness coordinator at work. a really good trail for all levels

Trail is currently closed.

wouldn't call it a waterfall...

The hike itself is pretty and the trail connects with the crest trail which will lead you faulty trail. If you’re expecting to see a waterfall you will be disappointed... However, the views and small cave were awesome!

Hard to find the trailhead but the trail is fun. Take a left before the yellow cattle guard.

Great hike loved listening to the birds and the thunder and I got back to my car just in time

Trail is well-maintained. Went with my whole family: mom, sisters, young nephews. Just the right length for a small family outing.

Loved it when I went with my fiancé. Fairly shaded and the little cave feature is a bonus.

The weather was perfect too but the elevation and shade helps to keep us cool. In the East trail we came across a difficult section with lot of switch backs that tested our endurance. The views are average but worth it. There are also a few good looking camp ground spots we could see if we wanted to stay overnight.....

Awesome trail!! Loved the caves and falls
