Good and easy for Two nice hours after work :)

Beautiful trail but definitely not for beginners in this season, get spikes and snow gear since it's already covered by snow.

Did the hike joffre lake 25 years ago for 5 years in a row. Was one of my favorite. No one on the trail. Now did it on August long weekend this year. Wow so busy. But still so beautiful.

This was an awesome short trail run. The uphill climb was pretty vertical, but the downhill was a decent grade and fairly soft underfoot. Overall the trail was easy to follow. Anytime I needed a hint on direction there was always an orange trail marker in sight. The only confusing spots were when the trail was changed and the detours didn’t seem complete (orange tags on the old trail, and lack of some logs blocking the old path), but a little map checking and it was easy to figure out.

Beautiful trail, I think it is for beginners too but just when don’t have snow. I went today and it is very slippery, spikes are highly recommended. Bring extra clothes just in case if you fall and get wet. Use gloves, scarf, hood, and nice and warm clothes. We already started the fall/winter season so you will need it because is very cold there.

So much fun and perfect for a nice hike and a few really good pics! Saw people doing live art and it was really a chill place....spent a lot of time admiring the art the bridge and the water was amazing! A must do! ❤️

Great hike and view

nice view but steep

Went up the majority of this trail yesterday. Had to turn around just before the scramble section because of snow and ice.
Beautiful trail that really works the legs out on the way up and down.
5 hours return trip with a short break at the top for a bite to eat

beautiful

Beautiful.

Beautiful three lakes, and easy hike. Good for a beginner too. Parking was full.

Hiked to the lake today (mid-November) and lucked out with blue skies and milder temps just below zero. The snow starts lower down in patches with some accumulation after the half way mark. Micro spikes and poles very useful this time of year and bring layers for any weather.

Hiked on Nov 17 - bright beautiful day in the forecast and cold. Trails are compact snow and ice in sections now: RUNNERS NOT APPROPRIATE. Allow for extra time due to slippery sections. Arrived at 945am, parking easy. Try to time it so that you are at the third lake just after noon bc before that the sun is still behind the mountain and it's shady. Most of the trail will be in the shade so dress appropriately. Highly recommend cramp-ons at this point. Beautiful way to spend the morning if you're prepared. Left at 1:30 and lot was full.

Beautiful view and lots of space at the top make the end of this climb so very worth it. Tough switch backs at the beginning and evens out after 20 minute or so. Took some novice hiker (Friends) and they did great. Definitely recommend!

great

View is spectacular. Snow and ice on the trail.

nice hike, although not well marked. rewarding at the end seeing all the painted wrecked old trains.

Great hike with lots to see along the way then a spectacular visit if greater Vancouver

Nice views, to much foot traffic for my liking. But a decent hike to be able to do atleast once

This is not a hard trail, I would rate it as moderate.

Went on Remembrance Sunday. The first bit up to Cabin Lake is well maintained but steep. The path is icy in parts so be careful. I would recommend going via Black Mountain and Cabin Lake which I think is shorter plus Black Mountain has views of Howe Sound.

View is excellent!! Well worth the trip.

November 9th, 2018.
There was light snow starting at 7km into this hike, I made it to 9km and turned back as visibility had gotten to the point where I no longer felt safe to continue.
To the 9km mark and back to the Parking lot took me 7.5 hours

The snow will slow you down, and winter park hours may make this hike not possible unless staying the night.

Steep uphill climb in the beginning was a great warmup to start off the trail. After that, the trail is easy and pleasant. Mildly trafficked on the Saturday afternoon we hiked. Spectacular view at the top

Hiked Nov 4. Snow from about halfway. snowshoes not required yet, but spikes a bonus over the boulder fields. Beautiful once the clouds cleared.

Love this hike! We started the trail around 10:30 pm, so can't comment much on the views up. The trail is very easy to follow even by headlamp. It took 3 hours up with overnight packs. Mostly incline the entire way, but only the last km before the lake is technical, and a couple of rock fields. Look for marmots and pikas in the rocks! The lake and glacier is a gorgeous destination, but there are a few additional scrambles that are well worth the time if you like a challenge. Took 2.5 hours down and the heavy packs made going down more of a challenge than up. It's quite a popular trail, understandably so!

Did this prior to grizzly bear activity shutdown and during wildfire season! It was fun! The people I went with were a bit... err.. wacky (which you'll understand why if you watch the video in this comment!). Trail is steady and well maintained, nothing technical up to the lake! :) The video for your entertainment and virtual experience https://youtu.be/0IkOAekrOqM

Wow. The views in the second portion of the hike from the Red Heather Hut to the lakes are breathtaking. I couldn't stop taking pictures!

This hike is long but not technical at all. Had I known, I would have started earlier and tried to combine with one of the other hikes that start from the Elfin lakes to make it a huge day hike (Opal Cone maybe). I will definitely do it again if I'm in the area!

PS the last portion of the road to the trail head is steep and bumpy but very doable in any type of car! just take it slow!

Hiked to the 3rd lake today. Getting to second lake was quite crowed in the afternoon with many people that were not prepared. The trail to the second lake was slippery in some sections and muddy once it became high trafficked.
Go to the third lake, was icy in spots and there has been a dusting of snow. Very quiet at the third lake if you walk around to where the camp sites are.

Get to the trailhead before 9am to secure yourself a parking spot. It was a surprisingly quiet hike on a weekend morning. But it sure does get crowded early afternoon. The viewpoint at Upper Lake is great but can get busy. We continued on towards the campsites (10 minutes) to the secluded sandy beach and took our lunch break there. The views are even more spectacular there!
