Great hike, serene setting and landscape.

Great hike! It’s a long haul to the falls, but completely worth it!!

Road to the trailhead is very well maintained for a forest service road. There are a few pot holes but they’re more like speed bumps and easily avoided, my Honda Civic had no issues getting there if you’re worried. Trail to the base of the falls is easy and short, if you want more of a challenge hiking to the upper trail #152 has some steeper sections. Couldn’t really see the falls from the upper trail but found some cool camp spots with a view for backpacking.

Definitely an hour well spent, but the views from the top were obstructed by trees. We spent more time admiring the views from the trail than we did at its peak.

Amazing

Very nice hike. Not very steep, except for the short trail that takes you up to the Falls Creek Trail #152. I went up to the base of the falls and then to the viewpoint above the falls and then completed the loop and my Alltrails app recorded 6.5 miles.

Nice hike and views on a clear day! Amazing two guys built this in 3 yrs. The hired technical guy was buried in the little cemetery east of the rock, left on hot springs rd for the rest of the story.

Relatively easy trail. Follows creek most of the way to the falls. Awesome little peekaboo of the falls from the trail before you get to the lower viewpoint.

Pretty cool hike! Not for the faint of heart. My friend didn't make it to the top for her fear of heights :( However, it was rainy and she didn't have very stable shoes on. There are some spots that have great lookouts even better than the very top. So if you are nervous, you will still see some amazing views even if you don't go all the away up.

Don't believe the negative reviews, there are plenty of signs and I believe only two pot holes that I can remember. The road is well maintained and you can easily get to the trail head in a car (I did) and there is a large parking lot with a bathroom. It was absolutely beautiful, the fall foliage is incredible right now. I did however almost hit a heard of Elk so be watchful on the main highway!

I'm afraid of heights but due to other Hikers, they helped me overcome. There are rails to hold on to as you go up the path if you need to sturdy yourself. I was grateful for such a trail to allow a novice like myself to enjoy the view. The trail kind of wraps around the Rock and one spot was just a little too much on the edge for me. But the value of the many Hikers worked perfect for me as an encouragement. Beautiful sights the whole way!

Very pretty and, at times, slippery trail. He found three newts and a father and son caught a salamander in the lake. Great family hike!

Beautiful falls from the base and very nice hike, but the signage is terrible, as is the road to get to the parking lot. We took a turn that we thought would loop around to parking, as described, and ended up turning an easy 6 mile hike into a 12 mile excursion filled with frustration. Download the map ahead of time...lesson learned!

Well maintained trail. Definitely slippery on some of the inclines of you hike in the rain. Not overcrowded. Great for dogs on leash. Inclines/declines can be difficult for people with stability issues, otherwise a lovely, easy trail!

Been up there twice in the last month. Did the short trail the first time, the long trail the second time.

Worth every step, and the rough forest service road to the trail head.

Very nice loop trail, all though the Falls Creek Trail #152 is more of a Mt. Bike trail and the rest of the loop is more for hiking. Falls Creek Falls Water Fall is very refreshing and great for pictures and videos. Cool camp grounds and swimming area up at the top.

it was a very nice and beautiful hike. There are lots of potholes but not as bad as some roads we've seen in Washington. The signs were minimal but that's why we have the All trails app and map. The trail was mostly soft and shady. The lower view of the falls was an oh my God moment. the upper falls and views looking down were nice of the valley but you can't see much of the lower falls. A short hike further is the small falls by a camp site.

Was in Nehalem visiting and stopped by the falls. It is directly off the main campground and you can follow the trail around if you want.

Beautiful falls but due to poor signage and lack of signage it is very easy to get lost. The road up to the parking lot is absolutely terrible so I wouldn’t recommend going unless you have an off-road vehicle.

Nice trail but too crowded. The waterfall is worth it!

Love Beacon Rock, it’s in our “backyard” and we grew up hiking it many times. We took our kids for the first time last week. It’s straight up via switch backs all the way up, but there are many viewing points where you could stop for a rest. (Our five year old complained quite a bit and wanted frequent rests). The top viewing area is very small, not many people will fit together up there. But it’s worth the hike for the view! And the downhill is fairly easy. Love that there are restrooms at the trailhead. You will need a Discover Pass to park here.

Awesome!

#1 favorite hike to show friends and get them excited about hiking.

This is one of the shortest hikes I've done that still gives you high-up Gorge views. If you exercise regularly, it's an easy climb. The trail did get fairly crowded with families around 11 am (I went on a Friday), so go early or during the week if you don't want to be passing someone on every switchback.

Great hike, really cool history, and beautiful views.

Great place to train that is conveniently located to west side communities in the Portland area. If you are hiking, keep an ear out for mountain bikers. Early morning is the best time to hike - the lake is still quiet with mostly fisherman and a few kayakers. Later in the day the tranquility is broken by jet skies and party boats. I have done this route twice in the last month and my Garmin showed 14.5 miles.

Nice short hike with a pretty lake, but not really suitable for swimming as it might be tough locating a decent beach.

Nice peaceful moderate hike. The waterfall is spectacular. The last 2 miles of road to the trailhead is full of potholes.
