A great first hike in Yosemite, was a little more difficult than anticipated...we went up Mist Trail and down John Muir (which I recommend because the views are UNREAL and it's less crowded). The MT was cool but very crowded with reckless people...infant babies, flip flops on slippery surfaces...just very unnerving. But if you can wake up early enough to beat the crowd it will be much more enjoyable. You will get wet! I recommend early summer when the falls are full and flowing.

Longer than 6 miles, but didn’t track exactly. (Watch died mid-hike.) We went counter-clockwise. Beautiful views; definitely challenging. 1800 ft elevation gain. Our 7-year-olds made it, but frankly I’m surprised. I wouldn’t have made them go so far if I had known it was on the tough side. Took over 4 hours with a short lunch break. Pack lots of water!

Amazing trail with waterfalls, creeks, spectacular views. Started at Regency trailhead, Donner Canyon Road, Fall Trail, Middle Trail, and Back Creek Trail, 7.1 Miles, elevation gain 1,555 feet, moderate hike. Lot of shades and wildflowers.

I was mid trail just as the sun was setting. The mountains and the lighting made me feel like I was in Hawaii.

Beautiful hike. Very much worth the incline work. Saw California condors as well as hawks and multitude of picturesque rock formations. Photo opportunities everywhere.

Beautiful and fun! Best hike so far

I did this two days ago. Although grueling on the way up, humbling along the way, mesmerizing at the top!
I will do this again!

Incredible hike! I struggled getting to the top, cramping and sore muscles going up. Very wet, so be careful of slippery rocks. The falls are amazing and breathtaking!

Fantastic trail. Beautiful waterfalls and awesome redwood trees all along. Carry lots of water. Not for beginners though.

Beautiful trail especially after rain

Beautiful trail during spring and specially after rain storm to see so many of these small waterfalls along this hike.

Great trail! Amazing views!! Bring a lot of water & wear a hat :)

Hiked 4.11.18 - stunning hike!! more on the hard side of moderate for sure with all the stairs and boulders, but worth it at the top!! Plenty of runoff so bring waterproof shoes or shoes you won't mind getting wet and dirty. Take your time on the wet rocks - they are so slippery! I was so thankful I thought to bring a poncho as the mist from Vernal Falls was BRUTAL. Again, WORTH IT ALL- absolutely breathtaking views!

This is a stroller friendly stroll alongside a pretty shaded creek.

Wow. I have hiked around the world and seen the worlds largest waterfalls but this place is truly special! Just did it 4/8/18 after heavy flooding in the Yosemite valley and vernal falls was PUMPING. It was absolutely brutal to walk up the steps getting beat in the face with mist. Additionally, most people stopped well before Nevada Falls (I think because they couldn't find the trail). Keep on going for an additional treat. What a spectacular spot. Much better than Yosemite falls!

Great hike. Incredible views. Bring plenty of water and snacks as you will need it. Hiked it twice. Both times in May, a year a part, not too cold nor too hot.

Don't know why I waited so long to do this hike. Bring a camera, you won't be disappointed.
I parked on the 1 on walked in. Took the trail near the entrance as suggested. Followed the loop as given. wow. stunning on such a clear beautiful day. Don't think I have ever taken so many pictures on a long hike before.

Great spring hike! Was longer than the posted distance, closer to 7 miles. Would probably rate it moderate instead of “hard”. We did it counterclockwise as other reviews suggested and enjoyed it. Waterfalls and wildflowers. Go early for good parking and less people.

Beautiful, well kept trails. No bathroom or water facilities so be prepared!

The PGE trail is a service road, not a trail, so be prepared for steep, exposed, and not real fun, but some good views. The high meadow trail is beautiful, definitely will do again. This loop is hot and exposed, bring plenty of water. Was so disappointed to see lots of food litter on the trail. Leave no trace, please!!

Took the short cut to the falls and the long way back. great hike!

Great Trail

Great hike. Be aware though that the Mist Trail is primarily steps, and lots of them. We took the longer route back to avoid going down the wet stairs and it was really nice. The John Muir loop was still closed from Nevada Falls.

Love it here so much. Just saw a bald eagle fly across my car very close range on the way to this hike from Bolinas, in the lagoon. Loads of poppies are popping right now. Amazing, special place. I also found a whole, giant abalone shell at the beach but threw it back

great hike! Bring water, sunglasses & a hat.

It took a bit to find the trails that actually lead you to the waterfalls, you have to look for the signs that take you the falls trail. The views and waterfalls were amazing. Wear good shoes that have good grips.

i went on this hike with my two dogs enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful scenery. After 3.5 miles up a steep trail i reached the summit. I was relaxing with my dogs admiring the scenery along with another hiker I've met along the trail. when approached by a man and woman with too little dogs. my dogs of course curious ran up to the man and woman in a none aggressive manner ( remember this is a dog friendly trail) they begin hitting my dogs and screaming bloody murder even after I had my dogs on leashes still screaming. ruining my hike. all in all very beautiful hike.
