Loved this hike. Definitely a work out but nothing too strenuous. We did it with crampons and they were definitely helpful. View at the top is amazing. Took us about 4 hours total.

Worth the trip. Amazing views once it opens up after the switch backs. Brilliant!!!

Very cool hike. There’s a few steep sections where you have to work but in general the incline isn’t anything too tough. Hiking the ridge by the tea house is very fun. Definitely recommend it.

Absolutely worth it, one of the best around. A bit of a butt kicker by the end, but worth it. Nice view of both side of the mountain. We also included fairview lookout, but you could probably skip that.

I like the forest going up, and also the trail itself is nice and relax. The first lake is really nice, but the second is a bit disappointing. Considering the distance of the hike, and how many great other options around, I think another one would be best.

Very nice hike. Johnson canyon is a bit crowded and annoying, but still worth doing. If you hike a lot, consider that just a "end of the day" bonus. The ink spot is relaxing with mountain surrounding. Great for pictures.

Just finished this trail for the first time (April 14, 2018). It took me a total of 2.5 hours, however I ran down most of the way. Nicely packed snow all the way up and a very easy to follow trail. Highly recommend crampons or some sort of traction on your feet.. trail was completed covered in packed snow and ice beneath. I saw some hikers without any traction on their feet and I was surprised.. not sure if they made it to the top or not. Blizzard 80% of the way up, however once I got past the tree line the sun started to peak through!! Stunning 360 degree views at the top and well worth the steep incline! Very windy past the tree line, so make sure to bring lots of layers. One of my favourite hikes to date! Amazing.

The girlfriend and I snowshoed this trail and found it to be very enjoyable. The trail up until Rawson Lake was heavily packed and easy to follow. However at the lake the trail disappeared completely and it looked like everyone hit the lake and turned back. We tried to continue on but, with so much snow fall, breaking fresh trail became tiring after another kilometer so we settled for reaching the far side of the lake, had lunch, and trekked back out. Good trail, only saw one other couple. We plan on going in the summer.

Steep hike but really worth it. It took us a bit less than 2 hours up and about the same down again. We wore small cleats (not proper crampons) and found it a little slippery in places but easily doable. Gets great sunshine most of the day but pack a windproof layer for the summit as the wind is fierce!

We did this trail Saturday March 31/18.
Trail is pretty steep going up but doable.
We had our ice cleats but we would have preferred to have something a little more extreme as it was pretty slick on the way down.
The views up top were breathtaking.
Definitely worth the effort.

Stunning, gorgeous path that takes you to the mountaintop along Lake Louis. Still reminiscing about this hike back in August, 2016. Takes several hours to complete and shouldn’t be a problem if you’re in shape!

Great hike - can really push yourself and make good time up and down the trail. Good view of the valley and Canmore throughout. Incredible at the top, to peak over the massive cliff.
Tea house is interesting.
Done this hike a couple times.
Prepare for more exposure to the sun and heat than covered hikes

My first ever summit! So much fun in the snow. Slid down on our butts for half of the way down

Beautiful!!! But quite hard considering I’m out of shape & it’s up up up the whole way to the lake!!!! Worth it though!!!!

One of my favorite trails thus far. It requires a good push as most of the trail is on an incline. The view from the top is incredibly spectacular and beyond worth the struggle towards the peak.

We are not avid hikers and we still managed to complete the trail close to an hour and a half. It is so worth it!!!

We wore crampons and wished we had brought poles as well. However, we were hiking on a fresh batch of snow so poles are probably not needed when the path is beat down.

The weather at the top is quite chilly. We encountered a swift wind as we left the tree line to reach the peak. Prepare accordingly!

Nice hike with 2 waterfalls and hiking along a river to the ink pots. Very crowded however. Get there really early to get a parking spot. At the ink pots, eat a lunch along the river. Mountains in background are very scenic.

Absolutely amazing 360degree views from the peak! Great hike!!

This is a gorgeous fun trail. Make sure you go early to avoid crowds. We did this in September and not many people went to the Ink Pots, so much less crowded, but coming back was very crowded around the falls. The ink pots are very neat. Love this trail.

Did this trail today, when it's still snow from the parking lot all the way to the ink pots. It was just above freezing. Really lovely. Sheltered from the wind, and the sun was warm enough that I was able to get down to just basic insulators. Spikes are a must, though, and poles recommended!

Great winter hike. Snow was pretty packed down and not much ice.

Always love this hike in the fall but this was the first winter attempt and it was stunning. Lots of elevation over a short distance but the trail is well kept and easy to follow due to its popularity.

We had a south western wind so it got a bit unpleasant out of the treeline but it’s not far from the treeline to the peak. The winds made it so cold up there my iphone wouldn’t work, sapped the battery in about 2 minutes of photos. I’d recommend tech gloves, face masks and a charger pack to anyone else looking for some great shots at the top.

We wore spikes (small ones) and used poles and that was plenty of grip and stability. Otherwise it was a fantastic sunny day and a beauty of a mountain.

My favourite hike of all time.

Beautiful in winter, slippery on uphills but fine with good winter boots and warm clothing. The upper falls are beautiful when frozen.

Amazing hike! make sure you bring crimp-ons. The waterfalls ate breath taking!

Such a rewarding hike.

all kinds of snow for skiing big cornices right now I would be careful

Sunny but a bit cold at the top with the wind.
Challenging hike because of the snow, the last 200 meters are tricky.
Clits not essential but recommended.
Awesome views as soon as you leave the forest.

very challenging but once you get up there it is all worth the climb!

Great climb even with snow

Awesome views
