In you are wanting a trail that is pretty lengthy but has good scenery and isnt hard on your dogs paws I would highly reccomend it. Especially if there has been a decent amount of rain pretty recently when you go because there are some pretty creeks that you run in to!

in my opinion, this hike was pretty boring. it's more of a horse trail. walking it by foot isn't worth it

This hike blew me away. The ruins, the fields of wildflowers, the steep elevation changes, the incredible overlooks. Wow.

The trail was beautiful after a week of rain. Pickle Creek was roaring and every drainage had water in it. The trail itself was in great condition though. We started up Pickle Creek, crossed it in knee deep water to join the north loop and then camped overnight at site 3 on the south loop. We finished up the next morning on the prettiest section of the whole loop.

I live two minutes from his trail. This is my go to trail. It’s my happy spot. Recommend to anyone! I bring my dog and when my husband and I are done we go to the dog park! Amazing trail!

Nice hike. Steep and rocky in places.

Beautiful trail. Lots of variety in the terrain. Nice overlooks of the Missouri River.

Still to date my favorite hiking trail I've ever been on inside Missouri.

Magical hike!! Absolutely beautiful and for the adventurous hiker, so much fun! I saw many hikers sticking to the trail versus veering off just a bit to explore and they missed so much!! Take the time to explore the mini caves and rock formations. I wouldn’t recommend this for small children. Not too crowded. Beautiful streams, clear water, and almost like being in Neverland.

My husband and I hiked this trail while it was raining. Hiking in the cold rain wasn’t fun, but the payoff when we got to the falls was amazing. The falls were so beautiful! If it’s raining or has rained recently I would definitely recommend waterproof boots.

The Elephant Rocks are the highlight of the trail. We ended up off the trail climbing through the rocks for quite a bit of it. The trail is nice because it’s paved though. The Engine House Ruin on the trail was really cool.

Go after heavy rain for a big reward. Beautiful, forgot I was not in Colorado. Absolutely love Arcadia Valley.

Nice park but not user friendly. Signs are not very clear. But really cool old forts and nice area for dogs . By the river

A great family hike. Beautiful scenery. Waterfall at the midpoint made the hike.

Great trail, with good views of the Missouri River. It does seem to a fairly heavily used trail though.

Favorite trail so far...a bit of everything I like when it comes to hiking...I wouldn’t say this trail is for those looking for something easy...I hiked all of the North Trail...can’t wait to explore the rest!!

Definitely not as hard as it's rated. Not a ton of up and down....we did it with kids and it took us only 4.5 hours.

My daughter and I just completed this trail. The views were spectacular. We had a good laugh when the trail ended at an underground facility for the Department of Homeland Security. They probably listened to everything we said.

No one there on a rainy morning.

Very interesting rock formations. Just a couple of areas where it’s hard to tell where the trail goes. In those cases, the app is handy with a downloaded map because cell coverage is spotty.

Excellent trail hike. Elevation drops a bit as you near the falls which is the most difficult part of the hike. Go after a recent rain event or in the wet season to see the falls in all their glory.

Beautiful trail. not super kid friendly, kids need to be monitored as there are many bluffs, drop offs, and steep declines/inclines on rocky/rooty trails. watch for copperheads in summer and fall, afterall you are hiking in their backyard. very easy to go off trail. download trail map, spotty service in some areas.

Great short trail run loop. Definitely some rocky parts, but the trail is really beautiful with moderate elevation changes, creek crossings, and gorgeous views of the park. I met only one couple hiking on the trail, around sunset time. Can’t wait to run it again!

Phenomenally beautiful trail with many waterfalls and geological formations.

Excellent hike. It would be good to note this trailhead is directly behind the showerhouse that you will find if you pass the State Park visitor center and take the very next right turn, through the camping area. Start the loop to the right and you’ll be blown away by the views at the end. There are also awesome side trials to take to get great views of the river.

Great trail to take the family. We loved all of it! Gorgeous sand and views.
