Fun hike with beautiful scenery on way to “highest waterfall in KY”.

Beautiful walk with a blooming green spring and gushing waters thru the creek beds - April 2018

Great easy hike. It gets pretty steep at the end near the falls but worth it. Like other people say no cell service so look at the map before you go. Make sure you go after a good rain if not the falls maybe small.

After my first trip here I was disappointed because it had rained a lot recently so it was very wet and I was hesitant to venture down to the creek and see the waterfalls. but after today I loved this place. Hiked along the creek starting right at the bridge and made it to the main waterfall which was unbelievable. The decline to the bottom was definitely dangerous and very steep. my dog made the trek with me and required to be picked up and helped out a few times. But the view and spectacle of the giant waterfall and hiking up to the cave was definitely worth it all.

It was slick on the day I went, a beautiful hike, but a bad day to run. of it is dry and you want hill repeats though this would be a great place.

Just finished the trails on Sunday and it is worth visiting because of the cliffs and the waterfalls in that area. I would definitely recommend a hiking or walking stick for some areas. The waterfalls are not very large but worth seeing after a good rain day. We recorded our trip if you are interested in seeing some pieces of it. https://youtu.be/3BVwXPmhAsc

Excellent Hike! Even the drive out to it is beautiful.

One of the prettiest trails I've hiked. Great for nature photographers, couldn't stop taking pictures.

Easy hike, don't go when it's dry out.

Absolutely beautiful! Once you get to the bridge, you can go up for a easier field hike, or go down and hike the creek bottom. The perfect go-to for a couple hours of peace.

This is a great little hike for families and groups with kids. The kids in our group ranged from 4-9 and there was lots to climb on and over with the prize of the falls to play in after the initial hike in. This location can be difficult to find and gps/cell service is spotty, so know where you’re going before you head out there.

The water levels were higher than normal, so the falls were amazing, especially making the scramble to the bottom of the falls for the best view. Was definitely slick and a technical ascent/descent.

NEVER-NEVER LAND!

Nice hike, but couldn’t get close to the river because of thick sticky fresh mud. Trail was a bit muddy in spots. Beautiful views though!

the water was flowing really well today. Creek was high, even the BSF was very high. To see another nice falls, when the water is flowing well, don't go up the stairs to the parking lot. Follow the trail to the Sheltowee Trace trail and go around the cliff line (will be on your left). Pass a wooden bridge, look left and there is a nice falls. Once pass the bridge take the trail left and go up the switch backs to the top. This is a short hike and will take you back up to the parking lot.

Close enough to Lexington to get hiking in, see waterfalls and explore. The trail to lower waterfalls near river could be marked better.

We went with our dogs yesterday and it was great! There are a few different trails and we chose the one down to the waterfall and cave. It was very beautiful because we have had a lot of water recently. The path is very narrow, so keep that in mind when bringing dogs or children. It is pretty steep and we were afraid our dogs would pull us down at times. That said, it was a good short hike. We can’t wait to go back!

very nice trail. I went 2/26/18 after a few weeks of heavy rains. I wasn't able to make it down to the big falls because of the volume of water flowing down the creek. it was much more of a rushing river than a dry creek bed today, but it made for great pictures and scenery. I would rate the majority of the trail easy, but the part that followed the stream was more difficult, especially with the high water levels today.

The falls was running strong as were all the creeks feeding into the falls and river. The upper loop at the top of the falls was too deep to cross without shedding your shoes. We saw at least 6 Red Eft Newts along the trail.

Very nice, uncrowded, but can be difficult to find because of unmarked roads.

Trails are well kept. You should have no problem completing all the trails within a hour and a half.

Time this hike just right and you can upgrade the rating to a five star hike. Most of the rating hinges on the flow of Yahoo Creek going over the falls. During droughts, it drys to a trickle. After periods of heavy rain, this waterfall is impressive. Another time to visit is during the a lengthy period of freezing weather. After several days of subfreezing weather, a large cone of ice develops in the plunge pool, below the falls.

Combine this hike with Yahoo Arch, a very underrated arch that is part of a larger system of rock shelters. Unlike Twin Arches, this arch has the appearance of a cave or a former rock shelter that has seen its ceiling collapse after years of erosion.

One word of caution-the trail system at yahoo falls is somewhat confusing. There are several trails that form a ring around Yahoo falls. The park has improved signage at important intersections. Be aware of straying off on unofficial trails. This is high cliff country and not paying attention could cost you big time. Also, be on the lookout for black bears during the warm months. Yahoo falls is also a picnic area, and that tends to draw the bears in looking for a quick meal or handout. Bear sightings are not uncommon during the summer here.

this is not a long hike but its beautiful when there is water running. we did it on Jan 1 and it was 16 degrees so there was an ice volcano at the bottom. Everyone needs to see this at least once.

So gorgeous! Did this yesterday and it was just us on the trail in the morning! Lot of beautiful scenery and icicles! So cool❤️
