to do! Map

It was absolutely beautiful! We loved every second of it! We actually went ahead and hiked all the way up to emerald lake. The hike wasn’t too bad at all! We had our 7 year old son with us and for the most part he did good! We were able to get really close to the chipmunks and they’ll come right up to you. Overall very beautiful and great hike!

Stream and waterfall dried up as of late September. Found a lot of bird action at the 0.6 mile marker just over a 20 ft long wooden bridge. Fall colors were beautiful. Best time of year to take this hike for stream and waterfall is mid-may through mid-June. No road signs leading to the hike. Must use miles on your car to find for first time. Still 4 star because close to city and close to Boulder.

on Lake Haiyaha

Lovely hike. Lake is beautiful.
Be patient if it is busy- the number of people lessens after a mile.

Be there before sunrise to experience the AlpenGlow.

love this hike. the views are amazing! my husband and I loved it.

Great hike! Aspen trees were on fire! My husband and I hiked this trail 10 years ago in the spring time. Seemed to be tougher climb this time but, maybe my age. Lots of beautiful creeks flowing by the trail. Brought our pup but, needed to be on leash. Lots of great views at the top when you reach the lake. Had a nice snack and headed down. 3 hour hike both ways!

Easy hike with great views both in summer and winter!

Great family hike, most of it is a well worn trail with easy grades. The lake is stunning and the views there are breathtaking! It is well traveled and I saw wildlife! I would highly recommend it for a family with Colorado kids or a first hike when you need to ease into our high mountains. There is a fee but if you have a parks pass it is free

took the family (Wife daughter 5 son 3) for their first hike. we had a great time. the waterfall is dried up at the moment but the lake was beautiful.

Saw a bull moose on this trail and wonderful views go in the fall !

We just hiked this trail yesterday and loved it. Getting there would be my only concern in the future - we had an OHV and had no issue but I would not have taken a vehicle even with 4WD all the way to the trail head.

Other than that, beautiful hike, very secluded.

The beginning was quite steep. It did level out some. To do the 3.9 mile hike you need to turn around at the point where you hit the cross of another trail. I did not see a bench. The views were beautiful with the fall leaves.

Easy hike from Bear Lake. Amazing views along the way.

Beautiful hike. Well worth it!

Beautiful hike! The aspens are starting to change which made for good sight seeing and of course it’s rutting season, so lots of wildlife in the park. Crowded on the weekend but that’s always to be expected.

Easy hike with epic views.

Amazing hike! Trail is well maintained and the views are extraordinary. The aspen were in peak color. Columbine Lake is a treasure—make sure you start early, bring some lunch and enjoy the lake views. Road to Junco TH is bumpy so take it slow.

We did this hike today from Bear Lake. Lots of pedestrian traffic on the way up. The lake is beautiful. Had to climb over lots of rocks for an older couple, but worth it. Took the trail over to the MillsLake:/Loch trail and down to Alberta Falls. A great loop hike!

It was a good short hike for half a days worth of fun. Not very hard if you’re looking for something to do in the morning before lunch. A little crowded as the day goes by but well worth it.

We did this hike on the way back from Emerald Lake, and it was a great add on. To do it on it's own would not be as good as Emerald Lake, which is along the shore of Dream Lake all the way and so is scenic for pretty much the entire hike. That said, I really liked Lake Haiyaha. It's different and I think even a little bit prettier than Emerald Lake. And if you do it on the way back from Emerald Lake it gives you a nice little 5 mile hike that is really fun and beautiful.

Beautiful lake and relatively easy hike. Just before the lake it’s easy to lose the trail. Stay right and it will pick back up. Be sure to follow the trail all the way around the lake for some stunning views. Some other hikers saw a couple moose up here yesterday (9/8) so keep an eye out.

No waterfall action, but the reservoir was beautiful!

Really good beginners trail little dry but nice

Great hike....incredible views

Awesome hike! Excellent payout

Tried to do this hike the morning we left the Mountain Park Rec Area campsite. I'm not sure if it was just us or what but we lost the trail about .5 mile in and got pretty lost. Just had to hike back down towards the campsites. Not as well marked as other trails around here are.

Beautiful trail, beautiful lakes. Not too hard, and many great places to stop and look, take pictures, rest, or eat lunch. A bit trafficky, but we were there on a holiday weekend.

Great trail for younger kids. Really fun to make it the reservoir at the end, but the waterfall and stream all dried up.
