We hiked this trail the middle of March. Was very surprised how much snow was up on the mountain. You couldn’t even make it to the parking lot where the trail head was. So that made our trek a little longer than planned however it was a great hike.

was here the morning of 4/15/18, boot pack stopped less then a mile from the lake but with no snowshoes was too much with just poles. Will check it out again soon.

Great climb! I recommend microspikes and poles, still lots of snow on the last mile. I took the old trail up and down.

Be prepared for snow

Definitely a tough hike. Went up the old trail and down the new. Old trail was pretty wet/muddy for the first 1.5miles. snow and ice the last mile. Snow was super soft the last half mile push and was tough even with microspikes. the new trail seems exceptionally easy albeit long after the steep climb up. Fun and challenging trail though.

Decent highly trafficked hike, parking area can reach capacity rather quickly. Trail is fairly wide and flat for the majority of the journey.

Heading back soon as I was unable to complete due to work ;( Expect this trail to take a minimum of 3 hours at a decent pace (3 mph average)

Leg Day!!! A nice challenge. The journey is definitively worth the destination here! You'll be glad you did this one. Fair warning, the water is freezing cold! Even in July.

Beautiful!! Just be sure to pack a head net for al of the flies. We backpacked there for 2 nights and had a blast!

Awesome..made it today inspite if severe snow storm & rain...

The wooded trail is in great condition considering a very rainy day. Got to top of Upper Falls and kept going to Wallace Lake along forest road. Forest road has places of snow cover. Returned to parking lot along Greg Ball trail. Very wet due to rain. Let’s just say the trail was a very very shallow creek. All in all very rainy day for a hike. But enjoyed the hike just as well.

A very beautiful trail but I had to turn back just before the lake, as you have to cross an avalanche chute and I didn't think it was safe with the melting snow. Microspikes and hiking poles are a most. If you bring a dog, make sure their aren't pullers, otherwise you will be dragged off the trail as its only a foot wide track by other hikers. I'd wait till spring to finish this one safely.

Enjoyable walk in; really pretty.

This trail holds a special place in my heart. It’s a relatively short hike once you’re off the road walk, but the lake is beautifully set with the mountains in the backdrop. Great for a dip on a summer day.

April 2nd: Gorgeous hike!! I set out at 7:00 and enjoyed the trail to myself. After reaching the Greg Ball trail there was snow on the ground. By the time I reached Wallace lake it was ankle deep! The trail is well enough maintained that it was easy to hike in the snow. I almost made it around to the north side of the lake (pebble beach) but a section of the trail was flooded.

The trailhead parking lot is very nice with real bathrooms. A Discover Pass is required, or a $10 day use fee.

Done it for first time twice in one day part of our training for Himalayas. 8.000 ft vertical gain and descent in a day is not bad. The trail is great experience and training ground to. The old trail requires a level of fitness but is doable for a beginner in shape. Amazing you have perfect phone signal.

MICROSpikes or yak tracks strongly recommended right now. Trekking poles were also very helpful in some steeper areas.

Beautiful day for a hike. Used our micro spikes, which helped a lot. There was a pretty large avalanche chute through part of the trail, but it was stable enough to pass. After the avalanche crossing, the snow was pretty deep as there weren’t any fresh tracks. We made it to the lake, and it was gorgeous. Well worth the effort! Looking forward to coming back in the summer! Parking wasn’t bad. We were in an all wheel drive vehicle and would have made it to the parking lot, but there was a car stuck. There is plenty of parking on the drive in, only .3 miles or less from trailhead. Enjoy! :)

beautiful hike and easy for all.

Spikes were definitely needed. I wish I had poles. Old trail was very icey and hard to manage with how steep it was. It was still very satisfying to make it to the top. My Fitbit tracked close to 4 miles up the old trail and 6 miles down the new.

Did this in August with some friends and it was so much fun! Definitely recommend starting early because it took us a while, especially since we did bridal falls first. This trail is hard with tons of switch backs and a lot of uphill stairs. If you are somewhat fit, you will be fine. The lake is nice to swim in during the summer time as it is completely clear and cold. Reminds me of Lake Twenty-Two but you can’t walk around it on a board walk :) Bring lots of water and snacks because there are a ton of places to take a break and look out at the landscape. Highly recommend for those of you who want a challenge!

The falls are pretty, the hike is fairly level/flat and follows gravel roads most of the way. Easy and not too long!

Simply beautiful!!! Bring microspikes.

Did this hike over the summer, so great and good tree coverage from the sun..and the best ending to a hike is a lake.... to swim in!

Good workout on this trail today. Muddy in a few spots but overall good. You’ll face your fears on the bridge.

Went with a few friends and it was amazing. I loved following the curve of the hill. :)

Went on Sunday 3/11/18.. beautiful weather! Went with friends, 4 younger kids, 2 toddlers and a tween. All enjoyed the hike to the falls and no one complained! A great starter hike!

Nice easy hike. Muddy and wet at some spots. Lot was full after noon.

It was a fun and beautiful hike. It is dog friendly too! Be careful if you have a water loving pup because you will get splashed a few times.
