Beautiful trails. The ridge trail seemed to be the least populated.

Very beautiful. Lots of fallen trees right now near the creek, but relatively easy to scramble over.

One of my favorite hikes in Lower Michigan. Excellent views and diverse trail.

Beautiful trail, i enjoyed finding the mushrooms :)

One of my favorite short hikes in Michigan. Keep going south on the ridge all the way to Treat Farm if you want a real adventure!

Try to go at sunset for a breathtaking view.

Easy hike on well maintained trail with fantastic views of Lake Michigan.

Exhilarating hike in mostly sand. Lots of amazing views.

Great, short hike in in the Sleeping Bear area. Good western view for sunsets.

Upon arriving at the Ludington State Park, we were met by a friendly ranger working the entrance gate ($9 visitor charge for an out of state day pass). The gentleman directed us to the nearest parking to the start of this trail and gave us a trail map. As we drove to the starting location, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised at how well kept the grounds and facilities were. At the parking lot we found clean flushing toilets and a playground and beach for kids to play. There was also a kayak, canoe and other small crafts available for rent (ranging around $25/ 2-hour).

The hike itself had beautiful views of the lake. We loved the board walks across marshes and streams. Halfway through the trail, we stopped at the top of a sand dune at a bench with a vantage point and gave our daughter a bottle. The views of the lakes and forest surrounding it was beautiful. (There were several people out kayaking and ducks flying overhead that were a bit of a distraction for a 7 month old while eating tho!) Even from high up we could see the sandy floor of the crystal clear water on the lake. On the hike we saw chipmunks, squirrels, deer and woodpeckers. The trails were well marked and easy to follow.

I would have to rate this trail as easy-moderate as it was not very difficult (or at least not nearly as difficult as other moderate level trails we have hiked in the area).

Amazing hike. Highly recommend!!

❤❤ Absolutely gorgeous, quite a few places with to stop and enjoy the view, 10/10 would recommend.

Great hike for photo ops and children.

I felt it was a very tough hike but well worth it. There are a ton of amazing views of the lake and the beach was very nice with amazing views of the islands.

Love Sleepy Hollow. It's our local "go to" trail.

We love sleepy hollow trails! Lots of kid friendly trails as well.

Exceeded our expectations...we went late in the afternoon on a sunny day and the late afternoon light gave the surroundings a gorgeous glow, we took some amazing pictures. There wasn't much foot traffic on the path considering it was a holiday weekend. Worth a look if you are in the area with pets and/or kids.

Beautiful trails through the woods mostly. If you're looking for more of a challenge, try Ridge trail. This is more up and down with amazing views from a higher perspective. Sightings of Lake Michigan and Big Sable Lighthouse!

So varied and beautiful, dunes, beach, meadows, pines, cottenwoods! Well maintained trail, well labeled. Short but well worth it.

Great trail, totally crappy parking! There is a tiny dirt ditch you can park in next to a bar, fits 3 cars. Other than that the trail was well maintained and wide. Beach access and beautiful views makes for a nice hike.

Lots of trails to choose from! Favorite local place to view the fall colors, go kayaking on Lake Ovid or to go fishing / swimming. They even have a small dog beach not far off of the main swimming area. Haven't had a chance to camp here yet, but hopefully before the summer is over! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hiked this trail on a late Sunday morning. We first stopped at the beach, which was gorgeous. The water was crystal clear and there were only a few people on the beach. The trail is well marked with blue posts and as always, hiking in sand adds a different level of difficulty to the hike. The views are incredible throughout and towards the end you are able to "cool down" by hiking on stable ground through some forest. We only passed one person walking in the opposite direction and seemed to have the trail to ourselves. It did seem as if the beach became more crowded when we finished as the parking lot was full of cars and bikes.

absolutely love the view

Beautiful, but not what I would call easy.

Super easy trail with gorgeous lookouts. Can be heavily trafficked depending on time of year/week.

Somehow ended up on the horse trail but prolly more my fault than anything else. Great trails and scenery along w/a nice beach area!

My 1yo had fun walking the flat parts and playing in the sand. Stopping at Village Pizza and Tiffanys ice cream are definitely highlights of this trip!

We did this loop clockwise. The first 4-5 miles were gorgeous. The last couple were fine but with no variety and a lot of uphill (would be uphill either way as the trail descends in both directions from Big Ben).

Trail markers left something to be desired; however gps is great on this app and I checked several times to make sure we were still on course.

FALL CREEK IS WASHED OUT. You can reconnect to the trail by walking along the fallen trees in the river. The water was not high, so this was easy and fun.

The lime kilns were really cool! Glad we could see them on this hike.

Hey no snakes! Such a beautiful hike. Take it easy, start early. Amazing forest. 3 hours. Great photo opportunities!
