Great trail. Needs better markings for the different routes within the trail.

Very nice set of trails. All paved and boardwalks. My wife and I walked with our black lab and enjoyed it. It was very heavy traffic even for February so I imagine once tourist season gets in full swing there will be little solitude. Great park!

I love this little hike through the woods and then down to the beach and back!

great in December, no spiders

fun to skate

one of my favorite place to watch ospreys

Great system of trails and will be even better once the construction is finished with easy access to the beach and fishing pier.

Best area I've ever run. Boardwalks and paved around the entire state park. Campground is awesome and a good location to start.

Great trail! Lots of wildlife and insects. Be prepared for yellow flies, bees, and snakes. The trail can be moderately difficult at times; allowing for a great workout.

The nicest trail I've ever been on . I walked on the south side of pavement in the grass and sand. Was about 50% shaded walking there. Plenty of rest stop benches along the way . I did the 1.5 straight out and back . Completely flat . Swinging bench at the 1.5 stop along with a restroom house . Great.

Make sure you look at the map on the trail so you know where you're going

Potential for a 5 with a better map, but a missed turn put me on Perdido Beach Blvd with my 7 & 9 year old boys for about a mile - mile and a half. If you reach Perdido Beach from State Park Rd., go back and turn right onto the next path to access the newly developed boardwalk. There seemed to be some development underway on the trail that will deliver an optimized experience.

Great little trail if you don't want to venture far away from the city.

Great paved trail. Lots of wildlife and lots of traffic to get to the trail.

If your interested in any old battle spots or old buildings this is awesome it has a lot of history and is very fun you can even go underneath of what was the floor of the battle spot

Good hike but watch out for the ticks in the summer.

Nice trail for bird watching, but not for an avid hiker. There are plenty of nesting areas out there and it's about 2 miles from Fort Pickens. Hard gravel that makes for a nice easy stroll.

Trail is boardwalk style in the beginning and then you can take a couple different trails that can go in a loop or down to the beach side. In addition, the "fish trail" is also an option. Trail is a nice short walk that is shaded in most places. Trail is easy and I did not see any other walkers. Dog friendly on leash.

Dog friendly as long as you stay on the trail. Picturesque trails and plan on taking my mountain bike next time.

Pretty good for the Florida Panhandle. More elevation change than you'd expect and a short stretch along the river.

Apple maps really struggles with navigation around UWF; park in the NW corner of lot G by the Anthropology and Environmental Science building. Trailhead is behind the building.

Gorgeous trail- very unexpected to find so many trees and marsh areas on this bleak island. The stops along the way at the numerous batteries is fun too. If you come before 8:00 the main fort parking area is inaccessible, so I just parked by the fishing pier and backtracked on foot to the fort and trail beginning.

Nice trails!

Started at parking lot. First part of Trail is along the beach but after the first fort, it turns into a nice gravel/dirt path that takes you all the way to the main batteries. Flat all the way, a bit windy along the shoreline. Public bathrooms available along hike. Great hike!
