Excellent hike with stunning views on a clear day! Tough incline heading up, but well worth the views. Snowshoed in mid- March

One of my favorite short hikes. The falls and pool are beauriful. Be sure to go when the runoff is at its peak.

Easy hike, and very beautiful. Went yesterday and got there at 6am, only saw a small group of people as we got back to our car. I recommend going early to beat the crowd. Quite a bit of snow still on the ground, but I managed to go through easily with a pair of nikes.

Great hike overall. The vistas were awesome. Started with the Misery Trail first then came down on the backside through Mesa Verde Trail and followed along the River Trail to finish off the hike.

Amazing...pick a blue sky-day and enjoy the vulcanic history! Loved it

Beautiful, short hike over packed snow. Family friendly and definitely worth it. Expect snow until mid March.

Great views and a really nice trail, hard hike but a good challenge

Awesome hike. Soft on your feet and beautiful trees. The view of the pool is incredible from above. Really cold water. Heavy trafficked trail

Snowshoed on a clear day in January. Followed previous tracks up, and blazed our own trail coming back down. Quite steep at the final ascent, but manageable. View from the top was breathtaking.

Great place to hike when it's not to crowded

By following the existing trail forged by those before me, I went straight up - round trip with some wandering around at the summit left my GPS showing only 2.98 miles. Snow was an icy pack the whole way up. Summit would be fantastic... On a day without a complete whiteout. Still worth the trip, great length and strenuous for a weekend day hike between breakfast and a late lunch. I look forward to going up in the spring.

Great hike, not long with some challenge, we ended up adding the summit trail to make it more challenging.

Smith Rock trails never disappoint.

Beautiful hike for snowshoes. Trail is covered so you’re at the mercy of the previous snowshoer who picked a pretty spicy grade up to the top.

It gets very warm and the incline is demanding in hot weather. Take plenty of water

Great hike. I would recommend doing this loop counter clockwise, knocking out the hard part first, then enjoying the views and relaxing the rest of the way. The part that follows the river, especially on the backside is so peaceful and relaxing. Lots of waterfowl to be seen. Will definitely be doing this hike more often.

Totally kicked my out of shape butt! Loved every minute of it! Very scenic and great inviting atmosphere!

Wonderful hike! A little muddy but still enjoyable. However, I almost missed the pool! If you reach a sign that says “does not loop around” you’ve gone too far.

If you'd rather go down stairs than up walk along the river first. The climb is long on the back side but anything to avoid hoisting yourself up several sets of stairs. Can't wait to come back and try some other loops.

This place is amazing it gets crowded really fast so make sure you go as early as possible!!

Awesome in January!

great views of the mountains, rock climbers and wildlife. the backside of misery ridge can be steep, narrow, and slippery so be careful.

My favorite time of year to hike the Green Lakes trail is in the late summer to see the wildflowers. I've also been in the late fall (snowfall permitting) though and it was just as beautiful!

Great views of mountains in distance, of river below, and of landscapes in all directions

Pool is BEAUTIFUL!! easy hike. We were the first ones on the trail Sunday morning. Nice to have it to ourselves for a bit. After blue pool we then hit up the Sahalie and Koosah falls and ended the day with a soak in the Terwilliger hot springs also known as Cougar hot springs. Makes a nice lil adventure.

I went on a steady drizzly day on December 2nd and I had the trail and Blue pool all to myself. One of my favorite hikes!

Was extremely cloudy and snowy when we were on top. Some pictures going up looked beautiful. Trail signs in winter we’re not very visible and took a completely non trail path up. Very hard and steep in snowshoes. Over all weather held this one back.

Beautiful views! Needs more snow for skiing down

Hiked River Trail to Mesa Verde Trail to Misery Ridge with family. Stunning views from the top. Disappointed we didn’t see any rock climbers the entire loop.
