Gorgeous day at 7 degrees and partly cloudy. Not sure it’s worth the extra mile loop without snow shoes. Almost a foot of snow! Packed down enough that the main trail was very doable without snowshoes.
Definitely try and do this hike on a clear day! Spectacular views, including Denali. Starting to get some snow up by the summit so have some layers prepared for when you get up there!
Incredible views for minimal effort.
Very well maintained. Incredible views of Denali the whole way. If taking the loop at the end, go to the right (when going uphill) so you can look at Denali the whole way down. Check out the lake too.
Gorgeous views of Denali. Moderate going up and down!
Trail leaves from parking lot of K’esugi Ken Campground. Well maintained trail with gradual incline and lots of views, on a clear day would be exceptional views of Denali. You can do a three mile loop at the top that only adds a mile, rather than backtracking the last mile.
trail in awesome shape. well worth it
We had a great time on this trail! The elevation gain was tough, but worth it for the 360 degree views on top!
Great views!
Great hike!
Great views and great trail! It was a little slick, so I’d recommend bringing hiking poles for stability. We loved this hike! Highly recommend!
Buggy easy trail with incredible views in the distance
Nice trail. Thought we were headed to a lake. Once we got to rocky knob it was a 0.5 mile more to the water. Nice day warm and windy. Lots of blueberries!
We hike with 3 children ages 14, 11, and 9. Gorgeous views and doable for everyone in our family
Super awesome hike. Switch backs the whole way and two ways to go!
Gorgeous, some fall colors throughout, berries, swim spots for the dog!
6/14/20 One of the most rewarding hikes I’ve ever done for a relatively low level of effort.
Very nice trail! Our whole family (ages 13-56) of mostly novice hikers loved the trail. Its 3 miles of a steady gentle incline but definitely doable for beginners. Half of our party did the whole loop and the other people took the short path back down (left at the fork is a mile shorter). The views along the hike are amazing even though we unfortunately unable to see Denali because of the clouds. Hiking back down was nice as it’s not too steep. There’s some nice large boulders at the top to stop for a picnic or a snack.
Great trail! Parking and facilities are well-maintained. Trail was nice and on the easier side of moderate. Views at the top were spectacular!
Well graded trail with a loop at the top either one or 2 miles to Rocky Knob. Spectacular views to the Alaska range and distant views of the Susitna Valley. Over time I think they extend the trail along the ridge.
Easy, well-maintained trail with a great view when the clouds aren't out.
This is a great trail for anybody who likes a nice gradual climb with huge rewards at the end. It's perfect for somebody who is a beginner and looking to push themselves. If you have issues with your knees when coming downnafter a climb this is the trail for you, easy on the knees with panoramic views when you get to the lake. Perfect for families and large groups as the trail is well maintained and easy to follow. Nice trail run.
