1st half moderate and 2nd challenging at times. It’s worth the effort for the peace and nice breeze

Great views

Took my son and dog for an afternoon trip. Easy trail and safe. Beautiful views.

Great views from the top! Kicks your butt a little. Totally worth it!

Lovely views. I could see all the way to Atlanta from the top. The trail is difficult for beginners and moderate for the average hiker. It is just almost non-stop inclines all the way up. The trail is marked, but be sure to keep an eye out for markers on the way up and down as there are several side trails, and it's not always well marked.

Not too difficult with great views

This our trial run to get our packs adjusted before starting on the Application trail. we have been going here for many years, and love it

A great place for trail running, hills but easy to run them all. Nothing extreme but still challenging, for me anyway

Great views at the top.

4th time out here this year. The canyon walls are gorge-ous.

Not a difficult walk down to the bottom of the canyon, from there on it’s pretty flat and a lot of fun to explore!

It’s a workout but the views are worth it. In spring and summer there is a full canopy so you are in shade. Really no difficult scrambling.
The army rangers use the area sometimes so you may see helicopters along with the wildlife and beautiful vistas.

Beautiful trail. It is hard, but doable with plenty of rest stops.

We took the yellow trail. It was moderate/hard on the north side due to the rocks you had to step up on and at a few points the trail is narrow. Make sure you head to the scenic over look it’s beautiful.

Nice enough for a day hike but don’t expect a lot of room on the trail. We hiked about half of it from Anna Ruby Falls. My wife and I took our 7 yr old and 4 month old pup. A little difficult for our inexperienced dog at times but good training. You’ll work up a little sweat but that’s to be expected when you’re hiking in the woods. I wouldn’t recommend running the trail due to the width and ample rocks and roots you’ll cross. The best part was getting away from the crowds.

This hike in my opinion has the best view in north Georgia. The hike itself is a little challenging but nothing crazy by any means. Go do it!

Good hike, the elevation is good and challenging. Views up top were nice.

A nice long tiring hike. Mostly in the shade, lots of climbing. There are several places where the AllTrails route takes you off the trail. Ignore it and take the trail instead. The worst is about two miles in — there’s a newer little section of the AT you want to take. Be sure to take the quick detour to Owen’s Overlook on the MacKaye section of the loop! It’s only an extra minute, and really the only clear view on the entire walk. Plenty of campsites along the way but you can also camp at the trail head, which is great. You can start your day with a little easy walk to the nearby falls before diving in to the main trail.

One last thing: if, say, you have cold fresh peaches in a cooler in your car, don’t forget to put them in your pack. There are several places where you’ll want to reach in there for a delicious juicy peach, and it would be a real shame if they were still in the car. A real shame.

Great hike! Loved the workout of the incline & the views from the top. Pretty crowded on a Sunday mid day. Trail itself changes constantly, I feel it was more rocky than dirt. ❤️ it wasn’t as difficult as I imagined but I can see where some people would have difficulty.

This is a more strenuous hike than moderate. Can’t imagine bringing my dog

Amazing views. Strenuous hike but the summit is breathtaking.

sure nice lots of wild life can be some what diffacult on the wooded equestrian trails

Great options. Paved walkway for a chill walk or varying degrees of trail hiking.

Pretty tough hike but so well worth it once you see some of the views.

Getting my butt up that mountain was definitely a great work out but it wasn’t as challenging as I thought it was going to be based off the reviews. Also... I was super nervous to bring my dogs after reading the reviews as well but my two 60+ lbs dogs made it up no problem!! They really enjoyed it!! Super fun hike.. well maintained trail... only downside is there was a scorpion in the bargirls bathroom

Hike/walk. The incline is absolutely killer but it’s a great workout and the views are gorgeous, on the way up and very rewarding at the top. Recommended!!

Great little area.
