Easy with kids! Wish we had packed a picnic!

beautiful and amazing trail, but there were so many bugs! seriously! everytime we stopped we would get swarmed. besides this it was a quick and hard hike. My group didn't start until about 5 and made it down by 9. The snow was unexpected but pleasant and refreshing to see.

Trail was in perfect condition, pretty busy from 1-3pm. Lots of families and dogs. A few more flies than anticipated but a wonderful day hike!

We did this hike last week. We luckily counted on a break in the smoke from the Canada fires. The views are stunning and there are still some wildflowers along the trail. I highly recommend this trail but do it early and on a weekday if you can.

Great trail to the waterfall. Show up early and it's not bad.

Much more enjoyable than the zoo at Snoqualmie Falls.

Amazing views and a moderate hike. Would give 5 stars but the amount of people brings down the appeal a little bit. At 3pm on a Tuesday there were around 25 people at the top.

This has to be one of the best trails in all of WA!! Great views and not too bad of workout.

I was worried about the drive up, the bugs and crazy amounts of people. The drive up is rough like all the reviews say but my ford focus made it no problem. Just take it slow and you'll be fine. I didn't wear bug spray and they were non existent. I left the trail head at 7:30am to beat the crowds. At the top there were just a couple people and a few volunteers. On my way down (after 9:30) there was 100+ people making their way up.

The views are incredible and the actual hike itself is not bad for a fit individual. Took 3 hours round trip with 30 minutes at the top. Well worth the drive from South of Seattle.

My tip would be just to arrive early and you'll enjoy it way more!! This is a great hike.

Been there on 2018/06/16 Saturday. Best hiking place. It is a package with nice lake at the base and very good views from the top. Very big parking lot. And nice picnic area at the lake. Good place for Kayaking in lake. Relatively near by and easily accessible from Issaquah and I-90.

excellent trail with a great view.

Been there on Saturday 2018/08/18. Took two hours - to and fro. I did not like it. Waterfall is very small not like the pictures shown. Hike it self is not pleasant and It is more of walk in the woods than hike. No proper signs, some confusion on trail route at couple of junctions, we made it though. 'All Trails' app map helps some extent. No designated parking lot, we were there at around 7:30 and could easily find the place to park on roadside. There is no board or sign at the trail head so it was confusing and had to wait for other hikers to come and follow them. Trail head is at at the junction of Mountain View Rd & Cherry Valley Rd where couple of concrete blocks are placed. It is an easy and long walk and good for kids. Do I go there again? Nope.

Good short hike. Good elevation to get your body working. Very heavily trafficked. We reached at 8:45 am and parking was starting to get full, and while coming back there were even more people going up.
The view from the top is spectacular, only problem being the high number of people. Overall a good hike.

This wasn’t my favorite hike for several reasons. This is a VERY populated hike. Way too many people on this touristy trail. The view and scenery was just ok. For a beginner, I’m sure it’s spectacular. But I’ve been on more beautiful hikes in the Mt Rainier and Mt Baker areas. It is a nice soft and well groomed trail but extremely dusty and dirty. Your shoes will be covered with dust/dirt after this hike. It took almost 7 miles (3hrs) in and out to the Freemont Lookout so its a nice little walk with some inclines. I would rate this as moderate. The view of Mt Rainier was fairly obstructed by all the wildfire smoke unfortunately. You are not able to access the lakes here because they are off limits but there are lots of trail offshoots and loops. The best thing about this hike for me was the wild life. Saw a marmot, lots of chipmunks, and other little small mammals that look like gerbils and guinea pigs! Also, be aware that on weekends, the line through the ranger station at the park’s entrance at 410 is crowded and will take a long time to get through even with a pass.

Pretty hike! Way too many people...

If you want something challenging, don't do this one. Mostly flat and easy. More like a walk in the woods than a hike. Unless you take the side trail up to the falls. Which, in late summer is more of a dribble than a waterfall. Still really cool and worth the trip up. The rock wall is covered in moss and really cool.

We went midday and it wasn't crowded at all. Only saw one other couple on the trail going. Three small groups of mountain bikers passed by.

Overall, a really good one to do if you just want to get some wiggles out. Flat and easy enough for kids if you don't go up to the falls (seriously... it's steep!). It was a warm day, but being by the river and mostly shaded, it was perfect!

We did this hike today and it's beautiful. The first cave is easily accessible however the others require little effort but worth it. There was a water curtain due to a small water fall behind the cave in the last one. It was worth taking the effort to go up till there. We actually entered and experienced the cave from inside however one of the cave, which was small and fragile collapsed right behind us, be careful and don't risk.

Es hermosa.

Took this hike with my very athletic son. He never broke a sweat, however I certainly did! Gorgeous views and quite a workout for me.

Well maintained, light traffic, beautiful and not a huge commitment. I had trekking poles but didn’t hugely need them. No sign of bears, just an odd amount of slugs drying in the sun. Easy parking, free and no way to get lost.

The view at the top was good but crowded. My favorite part was the alpine lake near the look out point. The water was so clear and cold. I went in and swam to the other side where there was still snow. Overall would recommend if you are looking for an easy and short hike with a view of Mount Rainier.

Great hike for families and young kids used to do hikes. Bring snacks and do a picnic

Nice trail with a great view from the top of Mt. Pilchuk!

There was a point where you think that the hike is done by seeing the lake but then you realize that there’s still huge cliff to hike. It was hard for inexperienced hikers but very self-rewarding. If you don’t bring the national park pass then wait for a 30$ ticket that can be then used for 7 more days in the Rainier area. The lake was unfortunately pretty cold but the hike itself is really good and pretty :)

great hike and loved the view of falls

moderate hike worth the view at the top.
hiked it with my kids on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't very busy (must have been a perfect time to go).
5 year old daughter did the trail easy up and back.
8 year old son complained the whole way (but he complains about everything).
spent time by the water after watching some hawks fish, one of them caught one. it was cool.

effort but not difficult, so don’t expect a challenge but it’s not a cakewalk either. incredibly scenic. views of mt. ranier, but go clockwise in order to not be walking away from it. bugs not as bad as the other reviewers seem to suggest. 5/5

Nice climb up to a decent view. A popular place! Parking was okay, but the trail and viewpoint was crowded. Lots of dogs which partly made up for the lots of people. Still, a nice, moderate hike not far from the city.

Most favorite place to be, 45 minutes from my house.
