It’s a good trail! You have to pay for parking and starting OCTOBER 1,2018 the price of parking will go up to $5 and on Saturday and Sunday will be $7 in the morning! Soooo I most likely won’t be here. That’s a bit ridiculous. Other than that it $3 and $5 on weekends! It’s not many rocks which I like and tells you how far you have gone! Enjoy

Parking lot and trail close at 7 in September

Loved the solitude. Extremely rocky but brautiful. Ruined a boot and was saved by a cole haan shoe that I came across and salvaged the lace. Be wary of the tides

Wow what a butt kicker...Beautiful trail. Took the lower trail out ( this is the trail from the lower parking lot. It was shaded almost all the way to the top of Mt Wilson. I didn’t run into any bugs not even at the top. Up to the camp the trail is pretty moderate after that it’s all incline and you will feel it. We arrived around 6:15 am and there was only about 4 parking spots left. Not sure about the overflow parking. On the weekends there is a cafe open at the top of Mt Wilson and there are restrooms as well.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Currently my favorite trail, however it becomes very busy during the week ends. I would suggest to arrive super early or car pool.

This is a fun hike. Although a started at Doty Trust park I still consider this hike as completed. I like this hike from the Doty Trust park starting point because there are two steep points. The beginning at Doty Trust and then the descent from the second peak which is pretty long. all and all, a great hike!

for kids this hike is amazing, big colorful pumpkin rocks, beautiful views , be prepare to get dirty since there is lots of dirt and dust ! is a moderate hike if you are in good athletic shape and your kids do hiking often if not you still have a lot of fun at this trail ! dont forget to bring water and snacks !

We visited today at around 7:30 am and finding parking was a hassle! Overall getting to the waterfall wasn’t overly difficult however save the energy for the way back, its much more difficult. Overall this is a beautiful trail and is very tranquil. Definitely would recommend it.

Hot today!! A bit crowded and parking was difficult.
Great hike though.

Great for a quick lunch time hike. Only as challenging as you wish to make it if you combine the trail with stairs or decide to work out to top where you will find pull up bars and exercise areas.

I love this trail, but the amount of people hanging out here just waiting to spot a celebrity is insane. The foot traffic is nearly as terrible as LA traffic. The upside? So many doggos running free just waiting to be petted! It’s definitely a good hike if you wanna get a good sweat going though.

I took the drain pipe down to the shore and veered left heading to the shipwreck. It’s a long haul through often unstable rocks. I would not recommend this part of the hike for small children and dogs, nor would I recommend hiking this section alone unless you are an experienced hiker. It would be very easy to turn an ankle, and I had no phone/internet connection while I was at the shore. Once you reach the shipwreck, you have the option of scaling the cliff wall with hands and feet (dangerous and not recommended) or turning back to go the way you came in. Either option is unsavory if you are injured or exhausted. In the end, I’m glad I went. The wreck had some creepy factor to it which was fun, but I would not do it again by myself!

Had a good time. Started at the parking lot right where Paseo del Mar splits off from Palos Verdes Blvd. There are a couple of ways to go down the bluff but I ended up taking the Drain Pipe way. This trail is hard only in the sense that getting down and back up the bluff is a shuffle and the whole trail is on rocks. Would def recommend taller hiking shoes for ankle support and cushy socks.

Fun. Nice views.

I ran into Joe Rogan strangling a bear with his bear-hands and when I saw this the Bear noticed me and that made Joe turn to me and the bear Ran off. Joe then nonchalantly turns to me and says, "Sup Dude." then just jogs off into the wilderness. I still can't believe what I saw but this was a great and challenging trail.

The waterfall is a trickle, but the trail is pretty and not crowded (if you go early).

Not for me. I was excited to see the pumpkin rock but it was so covered in graffiti I couldn't take a decent picture. I walked it with my 18 month old on my back. Definitely a good workout for me but not much for my daughter to enjoy. And it was a little dangerous coming back down because there were steep spots and loose gravel.

holy crap the uphill parts! great views though and a lot of side trails to explore if your into that. Make sure to bring plenty of water though lots of sand and little shade on some stretches. Part of the trail is marked off as private property someone should probably update the route. Once you get to the bottom take a different route up and you should be fine there are plenty of trail maps out there. Everything is pretty well marked there so it should be no trouble getting around.

Super easy hike. I usually jog there from my apt since I live nearby. The caves are really to look at. Plus, it is the original BATCAVE

This trail was amazing. I luckily got parking right at the bottom of the hill. They don’t allow parking on a Tuesday from 12pm-??? Because of street sweeping, luckily I was able to get there before 12 and snag a spot.

The trail I hiked it was paved for the most part which was cool and easy to walk. It did have great inclines but I guess because I’m used to hiking steeper inclines it was easy. The views are panoramic from any area and it’s absolutely spectacular.

This trail will definitely make you want to get fit... there are so many beautiful bodies (LOL) guys and girls. Bodies where you see, and you’re just like “damn... I want to be that”.

The trail has no bathrooms so go either in your car in a bottle or definitely make a pit stop somewhere else before you head up there.

I will definitely be back! I can’t wait to try out the other trails this place has to offer!

Great loop trail. Start left at the fork for a slightly more difficult hike. You’ll start with a steady, steep incline but you’ll be rewarded with a more flat and shaded descent.

This trail was difficult but so worth it

Beautiful Hiking with my family and friends

Very pretty and shady out and back hike. Lots of trees and follows a stream, a lush hidden gem lined with old picturesque cabins. The falls at the end were dried up when we went due to the dry summer, but still very pretty and I imagine it’s fantastic when flowing. As others mention, the last 1/4 on the way back is unshaded and uphill - a good workout on an otherwise pretty easy trail. We brought our two dogs and they loved it. Several other dogs on the trail. Not overly crowded, but we went somewhat late (started at 3:30pm). Less people and cooler at that time.

Fairly easy hike. You have the option of stairs or straight trail which is nice. Restrooms and nature center at top r kinda nice.

such a hard hike but totally worth it.

Great afternoon hike!

Depending on your athletic ability, this could be considered more than moderate. We had four kids with us ages 3-10 and they all did it but it was tough in some spots. Steep inclines with difficult footing- hiking shoes recommended! It was an amazing view from the top and the breeze made it worth it. Lots of broken glass which cut our trip short- my little guy slipped and cut his arm on a piece. He’s ok but parents should know it’s not the cleanest peak we’ve been too.
