Nice hike. I left my snowshoes in the car, but packed some crampons. The steep part of the trail (first quarter mile) was nicely packed, and I only used my crampons for one short steep section on the way down. that said, the flatter portions, particularly near the lake, were doable, but tough going with quite a bit of sinking in a few spots. If you have lightweight snowshoes, I recommend packing them up the hill and putting them on once things level out.

01 19 19 tried hiking this trailer based on the most reset reviews. absolutely CANT MAKE IT WITHOUT SNOWSHOES. kept sinking to my waste each time I tried to get up. will try again next week with snowshoes.

Fun quick little hike, definitely recommended spikes or poles, both would be great but I didn’t have either and was fine.

Great hike. I did a Google Earth Trail on Saturday here. You can do a virtual like walk of the trail and into the cave at www.shaunasadventures.com or on Google Earth. We had on spikes/ Crampons and made it to the cave fine. Headed up a little before 9, and there was not too many crowds, but as we headed down there was a huge group heading up. Most people heading up had sleds. I wish I would have asked them where they were heading to sled. I am thinking they were going to take the V shaped trail marked on my blog to the North Fork road and then sled down it. Definitely would have been fun sled ride down.

easy hike, good views. Dont try and get a picture by the falls unless you want to walk back with freezing feet. Ha!

Beautiful, easy hike. Cool ice cave. Hiked today (mid-January) with hiking/snow boots and we were just fine.

Gorgeous hike up along the creek the whole way. Many small waterfalls, 10 bridge crossings and icicles from the cold. The snow gets deeper and deeper as you go along. There is a really cool swing and a fire pit if you want to sit by the creek and have a fire. The rock formations are also amazing. Some narrow trails with steep drop off's for those who are scared of heights. But only at the beginning.

We hiked this yesterday in a light snow. It’s a quick hike, although the path is quite steep and the snow cover makes it a bit slippery. The forest is gorgeous to walk through. I want to return on a clear day in the summer to see the lake and the view.

Beautiful in winter!

Lots of options and outlets, did in late fall and it was great. Will do again in spring also great for trail running

This is a great trail to hike. The first part does get steep, but the views are well worth it. I've done this in early summer and late fall, and both times have been great, though early summer was a little swampy.

great hike! we didn't go up the last portion but it was so much fun anyway. snow was packed in but we had spikes and poles. definately need to go back and go up to the cave!

went yesterday. this is right off the road, just a few steps up the gully. it's mostly frozen over. so glad I had my spikes on. the trail right now goes right up on top of the frozen creek, so be careful on the ice. very pretty! cant wait to go back in the spring!

I hiked this yesterday with a friend. It wasn’t too crowded and the snow was packed down so hiking boots were fine. We didn’t do the very last part to the actual falls because it was too steep and slippery. Other people were doing it though.

Pretty waterfall. Super short hike. It took me longer to cross the road at the S curve than actually hike to the falls. I went left after crossing the road and starting into the trail. I followed the footprints in the snow, and they crossed the river to the left hand side , but you can't get too close on that side, and then they went back and crossed to the right hand side and got really close to the falls. It was a little stressful crossing the snow covered stream and hoping the ice is solid underneath, but I kept using my sticks to make sure it was solid and it was pretty hard. I did a 360 degree StreetView trail here, if you want to view it, it is on Google Earth, and my blog https://www.shaunasadventures.com/2019/01/360-adventure-hidden-falls-and-mill-b.html?m=1.
It was nice to pair it with walking up Mill B trail to the picnic area for the river is so pretty and it is right there.
I have to add that even though this was a nice hike, they don't plow the parking lots so parking is stressful along the road. Also, I had to drive about 10-15 minutes up the road to finally find a safe place to turn around when I wanted to go home. I saw people stuck trying to turn around in not safe spots, and I felt so bad for them, but I was terrified of helping and getting stuck myself. Just FYI.

Amazing short little hike. It has hard snow pack so no snow shoes necessary. The view at the falls is amazing. Truly a great one for the whole family. And the reward is well worth the work.

Hiked this with a bunch of friends. Each of our GPS/fitness devices said different mileage but we figured it was about 9.5. Be sure you have poles and spikes since there are some parts where it’s slick! Heads up - We ran into a dead deer along the way that we think was poached.

This is a great little walk. The falls are easy to get to and it is a beautiful area. It is great in the summer and amazing in the winter.

Easy for families, even those with young kids.

Lovely winter hike. The road and trail were sufficiently packed that snowshoes were not necessary, although they may help some folks. No waterfall visible during the winter, but it was still worth it for a beautiful woodland walk.

Fun, short hike on Christmas afternoon. Very peaceful—we only saw 2 other small groups (and one was as we were just finishing up). The first 1/4 mile is pretty steep! I hiked without snowshoes because the trail was packed enough, but the incline did get slippery. Spikes or crampons probably would have been ideal. In the snow, the incline might be a little tricky for young kids. The mountain was beautiful and the hike was in the sun the entire time. No need for snow pants or snow jackets—just a few warm layers! The lake is completely covered in snow, so the real showstopper was the view of the resorts on the other side of the road! No wildlife (this time) but a few bunny tracks.

Great trail to get used to the altitude, first part is a little difficult for out of staters like myself but even with a few breaks you can reach the reservoir fairly quickly. Great mountains views up top and great views of the city valley on the way down. Great quick Christmas hike!

Causal hike along the shoreline, but very enjoyable! The stillness this morning was beautiful

If you’re looking for an easy paved and cut out trail this is for you. You’ll be directed to the waterfall with ease. Now, if you want to go to see the donut shaped rock where the waterfall has cut through, you’ll need to do some climbing. My group scaled the waterfall. Shoes and pants were wet, but to us, it was worth it to feel the icy water and take pictures at the top. We typically do difficult hikes, so adding this climbing factor make it more interesting and worthwhile.

Short trail up to the weeping cliffs. Easy, but narrow walk way with steep drop offs. Be mind full with kids & elders.

Good trail, the hike up to the trailhead was the biggest workout for me but the scenery was nice and it wasn’t too long

Hiked this trail this morning in boots on a solid snowpack. The trail was well defined after a plenty of hikers went through. It is steep in the first section, but short. It then opens up to a large flat area. Absolutely beautiful winter vistas and frozen Aspen groves.
