My family and I enjoy this hike. I've completed it several times with them and by myself. It is also pet-friendly. I would also recommend this for trail running. There are crowds on the weekend, but the views of Peoria are nice. Bathrooms are at the trailhead if you start from Westwing Park.

very cool hike, super windy at top..but beautiful views.

Follow the 4 wheel drive tracks up the SW side. Reach the summit of that and follow the trails up the volcanic rocks. Walked the rim of crater to get the entire panorama. About 40% is a bit slow going. Then it was a quick slide down for me but not my wife.

Where is the trailhead?

Wonderful hike!

Great quick hike. Took about 45 up and 25 down, ran most of the way. Good in the evening because it's mostly shaded. Good work out in 1.5 hours.

Nice hike. Relatively easy.

Nice steady incline and for sure more challenging after the first viewing point. So rewarding at the summit, amazing views. Didn't make it all the way up the first time, but paced myself and lots of small breaks and got to the top, well worth it!!

Not too difficult and fairly flat with gradual inclines

Beautiful hike, but much more challenging than i anticipated. Incredible views and very clean.

Enjoyed the hike very much! It was fairly easy, even for non-experienced hikers. A bit rocky here and there but the views were worth it!

Good and moderately challenging hike. A few things though:

Directions: when I got the directions off all trail, it lead me to a private community. When you are heading down Happy Valley Rd., make a left on Alma School then a left on pinnacle peak pkwy. The trail head is in a gated parking lot at the end of the rd.

Also: I went on a Saturday morning and it was very crowded. Not so crowded that I couldn’t enjoy the hike, but if you are looking for quiet isolation, look elsewhere

Other then that, enjoyable hike with views of a very affluent community. It may not be full blown nature, but it’s a different kind of view, and still quit beautiful

Great trail. Great views all the way and especially from the very top. Rocky trail and moderately steep in places. Saw the Fountain Hills fountain from the top. Only one mountain biker. Where is the wildlife though? Took us 2.5 hours.

This is one of my favorites in the area. The trail is very well maintained and you can get as much of a workout as you would like by going faster or taking it slow. Great vistas of the valley in all directions. Those who want strictly rustic with no views of houses, there are plenty of those available, you shouldn’t expect that here. The stated info about runners is true, however most people on the trail are courteous.

Pros: well maintained trail, excellent signage for local plants/trees, and a good workout.

What I didn't prefer: the trail is basically surrounded by man-made development. Multi-million dollar homes, nice golf course, etc. But I really don't want to look at all that on a hike. The distant vistas were great.

Great views!

Went in the last part of January in the late afternoon and we had the place to ourselves. Absolutely beautiful river and waterfalls. We went swimming. The road in is rough, but certainly doable in a 2 wheel drive truck or SUV.

After 1st km km, a great sidewinder type of trail, fairly rugged, that circles three or four peaks and walks you along a few ridges. Nice views 360.

Too crowded for my taste but a beautiful travertine river

Cuts through a beautiful tract of land on a rolling uphill incline. Great workout, great fun!

Run Pinnacle in the summer. All the amateurs will be gone.

Great view! I loved it! It has plenty of places that level out so it’s not bad at all. The view was a huge pay-off! Wow!

Worthy Trail. Ran it with my son.

I loved this moderate trail. Beautiful views, good inclines and a good workout! Make sure ya have good hiking shoes as there is a lot of loose rocks. Nonetheless incredible !

Long gradual climb for the 1st km; just as long and a bit steeper for the second; a lot steeper for the third km, especially the last third of a km or quarter-mile of the spur trail up to the summit. Delightful descent all the way back

Great climb and beautiful views!
