Trek as long or short as you want. Looks easy, but it's not!

it says moderate, but we thought it was closer to hard. beautiful hike, though, some stunning views of the city when you first start out. from the top you can see Golden to the left, and way in the back you can see downtown Denver, so you really can see it all.
the sun would beat down during the climb up, and then In the forest it cooled down.

great views, great trails, quiet for most park. come early because after 9 its a little congested.

Hiking up to the peak is beautiful, but the sawtooth from south trailhead to the peak has a lot of direct sunshine and it can get very hot. The trade off is a magnificent westward view.

I've only hiked this trail once and it is a really cool trail, especially 12 minutes away from my house in the city, but the main drawback for me is all the bikes. It's a very popular MTB trail and I had to pause pretty much every other minute to let a bike go by. A few bikes hurtled toward me and expected me to lunge out of the way. Overall it was hard to settle into the hike itself.

Lots of trails to choose from and lots of sun. Had meant to do the Zorro trail on my off day for an easy run but stumbled upon these trails. Pleasant surprise. Will definitely be going back to venture some of the tracks I didn't cover. Lots of bikes but this me some time to rest on some of the steeper inclines. Great space

Wonderful views at the top and several different paths to get there. Right in the middle of a cute little town, too.

My sister-in-law and I hiked this trail late afternoon and it was great! I’m not in great shape, so it was challenging, but the view was well worth it. If you’re wearing “open” hiking shoes, like Keens or Chacos, be prepared to get some sand and dirt in your kicks. Also, since the trail is sandy, be ready for extra umph to get you up, and extra grip to get you down. I would 100% recommend hiking poles if you’re not fit or only slightly fit. Bring lots of water on a hot day!
We took the north loop up and south loop back.
Even in late August the wildflower foliage was very pretty. Not a boat load of blooms, but still good. In the end, the view from the top is gorgeous.
The hike down was super easy, but because of that rocks/sand don’t forget those good grip shoes.
Again, great hike!

Definitely not an easy hike but we did pretty well. The views are incredible and we went right as it was about to rain so at the peak of the trail we were surrounded by clouds and fogs rolling in over the mountains. According to our fitness tracker it was about 3.2 miles up one side of the loop, up the full north path, back out and down the other side of the loop.

A challenge going up, but worth the view at the top.

Decent 4 mile hike. Trail runners and bicyclists were frequently wizzing by, so just something to be mindful of especially if you bring your dog. Mostly shaded but there are a couple places at top to stop and catch a scenic view.

Beautiful hike with my dog, but had to go early in the AM to beat the summer heat (by noon it was 95 degrees). A few spots got narrow and with mtn bikers out and about there were a couple times we were forced off the path to make room for them. Nice mixture of rocky scrambles and smooth trail.

I’ve hiked this trail today and it’s a very beautiful trail. It doesn’t follow the red rock trail for most of the hike, it turns onto a black trail. But it’s absolutely worth it. You can also choose to continue following the red rocks trail, it’s an easier trail with less ascending. However if you are in a decent shape, take the black trail via the top of the mountain for beautiful views of the city. Watch out for rattle snakes, I’ve seen one sunbathing on the trail. More people have seen them a lot sunbathing.

Good area to hike with several different trail options. Good variety with forested areas and meadow areas with good views.

Nice little workout in a pretty setting without a ton of traffic. Great little saloon on the way back to Denver, too.

This took us to welshire golf course this is the second time this app has taken us to an incorrect location.

Nice hike with limited shade so sun screen or an early start is best. Nice views of red rocks area and worth the “walk”.

Nice little trail close to metro area. Trail is shaded and not too difficult. Wonderful views at top!

Great quick workout ! Views at the top are superb. Great for out of towners that aren’t used to hiking regularly or at higher elevations.

Arrived at about 10:30am, was a lovely trail. Steep in some places, but it was fine even with a dog. Plenty of shade! Encountered a couple of other hikers.

Great hike. Lots of tree coverage and shade and great views at the top.

Best running trail! Pretty views and a long route.

Awesome trail close to Denver!!! Took us about 3 hours - a mix of shade and sun- huge parking lot. Tons of wild raspberries along the way but we almost stepped on a rattlesnake

Awesome trail! Close to the metro area and nice and shady.

I love these trails! There's scenery, moderate shade, and, depending on which trails you take, can be a decent hike. Last week, we did the Apex Trail up to Grubstake, around, and then back down Apex. It was 7.5 miles and took us about 3 hours.

Beautiful trail! Well maintained. Not a very technical trail, but rocky and challenging enough to keep it from getting boring. It's a little busy, but it's not congested. I'd pass people, but it wasn't a constant, annoying thing. Also, lots of parking. Don't worry about parking.

Definitely a great hike. Took the north trail up. There were a few steep parts IMO but not impossible. As others mentioned it's mostly shaded which is great in the summer.

I do this trail weekly (if I’m not traveling). Nice in the early morning or late evening. Good glimpses of wildlife but a great place to decompress and enjoy the outdoors.
